Fed: Time and me just dicking around and experimenting, haha. I hope my next comic has better panel placement though, I went a bit overboard trying out things on this one
sloth: AAaah tell her to get her butt on here and upload it anyway.
Kozi: Never too late. Thanks a ton!

Late, buuuut
I dug the mix of traditional media and digital in this, really made your fighter pop as his enviorment was brown and he was all about the Blue

... The heck? I didn't even know this deadline had past, I was still bugging J about getting it submitted. My bet would be she completely lost track of time and space..?
JETSTER! Sweet entry, Johnny Patch is still a hero among men... and children, goats & geese.

wow Jetster, I was really surprised by this one - you have a style we didn't get to see in the tourney (I assume time has something to do with it) and that first page was just horryfying chilling. If anything you could work some on your panel placements... they seem very random and all over the place
J; We all know how real life can interfere sometime, but hope to see you battle again soon!

Aw J, hope you are doing OK
Sorry that I've taken so long to reply, I had to fly to Sydney on very short notice just after the comic went up and my phone was being a butt the whole time I was there.
On fonts: I actually have several fonts from Blambot and I'll quite happily suggest them to people myself (my two other comics on the site rely heavily on Smack Attack)! Even so, I've been wanting to experiment with hand lettering - obviously if I want to keep going with that I would have to work on legibility much more. Apologies for the difficulty of reading!
On close up details: Johnny is designed so simply and I tried to keep it the same way for other characters - I agree that it doesn't work with the line-heavy backgrounds when I do closer shots especially. I'll work on this!
@ Bobo: I had that worry about Orion as I got towards the second half of inking, and time didn't really permit me to rescript Sorry to J about that, Johnny is just a massive attention whore even when scripting.
Thanks for all the other feedback, that's fantastic!
Hats if you're able to give me crit anytime that would be amazing amazing

J had a lot of works to do with her job! Though it's a shame, I'm sure J will have a totally good reason for the default.
Also, Jetster I'll give you a crit laters!

JETSTER, I love how you contrasted Johnny's color with the browns of the background, and the story was entertaining. I did feel a little confused by all of the lines and stuff, especially around the crowd's cheers on page five. Also, I'm not sure you really gave Orion much of a chance to shine, but maybe I'm just being too nitpicky. Oh, and I love that you threw Flipwulf in there. I didn't catch it at first, but that was just perfectly done.
Can't wait to see more!

JETSTER: A fun comic, great layout, and a fun drawing style to boot. I like the textures in the background, maybe you would want to try to bring some other textures into the characters. Your call on that. Good job, keep 'em coming!
I agree. Hop over to BlamBot and pick up one or two or ALL of the free fonts. It will make a HUGE difference.
J.Vandermeer: I am disappoint.
Atomicfish: Try using a comic font, it will help, trust me I have horrible handwriting.

I love it, and I love your character. I think the way you're doing your layouts/crazy sound effects works really well. My critique would be, that your more zoomed back panels have really great line detail & stuff, but some of your close ups get a little confusing because they're quite simple in contrast? You could potentially do some more detailing on the stuff like shoes, hands, close up faces, etc.

Oh, I'm so glad to see more Johnny Patch! This comic had everything, stunts, pig crap, petting zoos...and that's pretty awesome! I liked your line work, especially in the backgrounds. I do, however feel that your handwriting, while good for action sounds, is a tad hard to read in the duologue. Try using a comic font, it will help, trust me I have horrible handwriting.
