From the guy who made the youtube-famous REJECTED cartoons. I didn't realize he was actually a serious filmmaker, but this man really know his shit. Everything Will be Okay and his latest I am So Proud of You are beautiful, introspective stories that employ very intelligent, traditional animation techniques.

Code Geass Seasons 1 and 2. About 1/2 through Season 2 now. I was super reluctant to try out this series because it's very rare I like any mech stuff and I've always been back and forth with how I feel about CLAMP. I remember trying to get into it a few times when it was on Adult Swim and thought it was crap but then I started from the beginning and I can't stop watching it now. I should have known Sunrise who also did Cowboy Bebop could blow me away again. I don't think I've ever had a series make me cry as much or get as pissed off. I honestly have no idea how to feel about the main character because they've done a great job at going back and forth between making him a horrible bastard to making me sympathize with him. I do want to punch Sunrise in the face for Episodes 22/23 of season 1 and Episode 13 of season 2 thus far. How could you do that Sunrise?! why?!?!

Casshern Sins. It's a remake of an 1970ies anime and there's also a movie I believe but I haven't watched either. The new series has awesome art, great storytelling and incredible atmosphere. I'm hooked D=

I watched the live-action movie adaption some years ago.

It bored the living hell out of me.

Oh ok I guess I don't need to watch that then ... Not that I was planning to.

Genji monogatari sennenki. A new anime adaption of the Tale of Genji to celebrate the novel's 1000th anniversary. Not that it's actually known when exactly it was written.
No pain no gain

So after missing out on this on Sunday night (Thank you Chrono Trigger), I managed to download it from a torrent and watch it fully tonight in front of my own personal computer monitor.

I really liked the musical numbers in this.

You guys have wonderful taste.  I really loved Code Geass (I'm a huge mech fan anyways so it was expected) but I really got into the storyline.  My God I haven't obsessed over an anime like that since...Yakitate! Japan.  What?  Is that too far a leap of genres?  I'm enjoying Casshern Sins, the pacing is slow but I think that's fine, the action scenes I like as well.

I just watched JCVD and I really enjoyed it, I recommend it.  And Taken.  Taken was sick.

Oh and one more thing, anyone seen an anime called Mononoke?  I'm in love with it.  I'm halfway through it.

Just to be perfectly clear (I was at work and couldn't post any images):

I mean this Mononoke, not Princess Mononoke...although that's a great movie.  No doubt.  Just double checking.  I highly recommend it to those who haven't seen it.

I have the third toxic avenger movie.  I used to like Troma movies.  To be honest...I'm not sure why... (Sgt. KABUKIMAN!)
I had no idea that 20th century boys had a movie.  Guess I gotta do some searching...

It's pretty interesting so far, you can check out the series here: YouTube: Mononoke

" Mononoke follows the character of the medicine seller as he continues to face a myriad of supernatural perils."
