Though the ankle farthest from the view looks a lil off to me, this pic  would be the most sexiest Female-Octopus I've ever seen.. :o

I love when aliens/monsters have flesh, or tentacles for "hair".

Me too, I still need to draw her. I just have been rather busy as of late, and my drawing time has been going towards HW assignments and other such obligations. But I will once I have the time anyway!

Your stuff is amazingly creative and charming, Qyz.  I want to see you pursue like a huge webcomic/comic book or something soon because I think your style is amazing.  I notice you draw a good amount of poses with little background, which I do all too often.  However, you always spice it up with a simple colored bg that really adds to the overall composition.  I still haven't really figured out how to do that.  You work with markers, right?  Help me out lol!  I'm having too much trouble in adding a background to a simple pin up pic.

Man, looking through your art thread here was so fun. <3 You do a lot of playing around with style, I really dig that. Something more artists need to do.

Thank you both very much!

Sirius: Yeah, I tend to draw a lot of character designs in standard poses with no background, so I tend to try and spice it up sometimes just by breaking up the background color with splotches of different tones, but with little contrast. Or sometimes great contrast to the figure, if it helps it pop out even more. As for the markers, I used to be really careful with how I laid down markers, as to have it just right... and it came out boring and mediocre. So I've learned to play around, and really lay down my markers expressively, and luckily it matches up with with my sketchy inking style. It's a very nice coupling. Really, my advice is play around, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Loosen up, and enjoy!

Also, I did a couple sketches on the cintiq's in class today. Enjoy

Thanks to both of you!

And Kuro, yeah, super inspired by Sky Doll. I had just reread it before doodling that.

As for the explosion, I totally thought to myself I'd never really drawn an explosion from life (only thinking back on whatever cartoony explosions I could think of from comics and such) so I got ref and tried it out

And Pon, I'll totally do more marker gestures and such. Markers are one of my favorite media
