I know a couple of people jammed on this last year here but the official challenge is open for sign ups between now & Thursday. Everyone here is not only more than capable from an artistic & creative standpoint, I think it's a good way to promote yourself & Void too. So if you had any intention in doing it, go sign up.

I wanted to do this last year and missed out on the sign up date I think. I'm gonna do it this year, at the very least it will give me something to warm up with.

Awesome! Go forth & kick ass!

I was on the fence with doing it this year but since I'm holding to this goal of having 52 new characters by the end of the year & I'm only on #13, I see it as an excuse to catch up.

Don't forget to introduce yourself after you're signed up.

Is it cool if I just post mine in the thread like last year?

You can do whatever makes you happy. I just know people always get upset about missing the sign up so I figured I'd just point it out. Whether you post them here, there, both or whatever, I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got.

Yeah I guess I gotta do that too. Its normal then to see everyone elses posts then when in the backend + I just make a post as I normally would on any other wordpress blog right?

I mean I've used wordpress before but never with sharing it with so many people haha.

Can't wait to see people's entries! I might try it this year, if anything you'll get 30 different and distinct cat loaves.

Welp... I just joined. I guess this November I'm just going to ridiculously saturate myself with art projects, because my sleeping schedule isn't already irredeemably messed-up.

The 30 characters site is being slow with the confirmation e-mail, but either way i'm doing this too. Should be a ton of good practice drawing different character faces and body shapes. (if they even have faces and bodies... heh)

DAY 1 - NIELSON, THE ARTS-N-CRAFTSMANCER

Nielson, the scourge of the third grade.
Once upon a time, Nielson was a good kid. Unlike most others his age, he enjoyed school and viewed it as a sort of challenge. While the other kids sat around with their fingers up their noses, Nielson dived head first into stacks of schoolwork with equal parts courage and determination. If you were standing in a classroom staring down a pack of flashcards, there would be no other kid you'd want by your side. But on that cold, rainy day, when recess was unexpectedly cancelled, Nielson transformed from a boy to a monster.

It was too wet to play outside, so the teacher broke out the art supplies for some indoor fun. Some kids doodled on paper, some folded airplanes. But Nielson? He found within himself the godlike power of creation. The ability to sculpt living, moving beings. Golems of paper and popsicle sticks. He was an architect, an artist. He was a musician and glue sticks and scotch tape were his instruments. But the sudden onset of his new-found abilities was too much for his small, immature mind to handle. Nielson became corrupted by power. Every day, the kids on the playground would cower in fear as Nielson hunted them down to rob them of their Pokemon cards and other valuables.
And if he found out your mother packed you a pudding cup in your lunch?
May God have mercy on you, because Nielson will not.

Strengths: Impeccable arts and crafts skills. Knows his way around a pair of safety scissors.

Weaknesses: Type-1 Diabetes

-------

Welp, 29 to go.

That's rad, slagglle! Tell me it fires the crayons like missiles out a gundam.

Are we going to post these here or our own threads or resurrect that old jam thread?

Unless there's a better place to post them, I'm just going to keep posting mine here.

Might as well post 'em here! I mean we could always ask for this thread to be moved to the jams section maybe so it fits better.

Played it safe today. I meant to colour it as well but I got mega frustrated on deciding on a scheme. Weather is changing hardcore and I've had a massive headache all day 'cause of it so this is the best I've got for today.

but I still like how she came out anyway

Jacob Rickets was born into a prosperous family and studied in equally as prosperous university and graduated as an electrical engineer. His intelligence is off the charts and is a member of Mensa. He helps people by tweaking things to be more efficent. He almost never builds things from ground up, rather he will take an existing solution and tweak it. His tweaking usually gets out of hand and the results become something entirely different.

Not a superhero on his own, but uses his tweaks to aid other superheros by utilizing his skillset. He works in his own shop called “Rickety Jake’s That Joke Is Old”. He doesn’t affiliate himself with any of his clients, but rather enjoys tweaking the crap the hero’s own ‘engineers’ have put together.

Despite his initial appearance, he is very welcoming and considers himself to be an ambivert.

The colors are crap, his hands are badly proportioned and the character in general is immensely boring, but idgaf today.
