Aurora and Remus

Aurora and Remus

You guys I am sooo excited to be finally be doing this you have no idea. 83

Disclaimer:
I used to be the user Forever After a million years ago, so if Aurora sounds/look familiar, that's because she's the same character... except I'm actually doing something with her this time.

Onto stuff!

Name: Aurora
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Sexual Orientation: Whoever is consenting
Race: Satyr

Weapons:
Horns
Thyrsus
Cape around arm acts as a light shield

About:
-incredibly charming
-passionate
-helpful
-friendly
-will literally sleep with anyone
-accepting wine/listening to her piccolo (or both) will pretty much guarantee sexy time

Name:Remus
Age: ??
Sex: Male
Height: 14' 5"
Weight: 13,000 lbs.
Race: Dragon

Weapons:
Tail

About:
-chirps, whistles, squawks like a bird
-very expressive
-adores grapes
-super loving
-only responds to Aurora if called "Remmy"

Bio:
Before Aurora and Remus crossed paths several years ago, Aurora was just as every other Satyr in Arcadia - drunk, violent, loud, dangerous and incredibly lustful. She would often engage in sacrificial rituals, death matches, thievery, and other ludicrous activities. After they met, however, Remus slowly began to morph her beliefs and outlook on life.

They began to travel to nearby villages and Remus convinced Aurora to "help" people rather than "hurt" people. She realized helping people wasn't so horrible after all and her hostility and drunkenness essentially vanished. Though her sexual prowess has yet to see change, she can lull her desires through acts of kindness.

Aurora and Remus have recently left Arcadia and do not intend to return anytime soon.

Notes:
-they're often hunted by maenads (crazy nymphs)
-Remus will keep Aurora in line by squawking at her/hitting her with his tail
-Aurora never strikes him back
-Remus only goes to sleep if Aurora plays him a lullaby
-Aurora will not take offered shelter if Remus won't fit/isn't invited
-Both their diets consist of bugs/fruits/veggies
-(more to come as I ponder about them!)

Intro Pages:

I know they're pretty rough, but I'd like to see if I could have some feedback on them... I wanted to make sure that panels made the story continue and that there wasn't anything unnecessary or if I needed to add anything to make things clearer.

Page 2 is making me angry, so I might just scrap that one and start all over.

I also had a couple other ideas in mind for intros (leaving Arcadia, "friendly" encounters etc.) but I feel as though this would without a doubt show the bond between them.

Again- I'm super excited for this and I can't wait to finish these intro pages and start battling sooon!! >]

Looks good thus far! Could you make the design sheet a bit larger?

Welcome back to VOID! I really love your style and the level of detail in your work. I can't really understand the pages super well, but they seem good to me. I like the paneling a lot and I love Remmy!

Thank you so much, Bobo! :D

Is it because they're still too sketchy or things just don't make sense?

Just because they're sketchy. I can get a general idea of what's going on, so I think once you add more detail or ink it or whatever it'll be perfect.

I'm liking what I see. I really hope you actually go full out alternate fantasy verse Void, as that's not often seen here.

Characters are detailed, but I'd consider changing the colour of Aurora's dreadlocks; that bright purple is pretty artificial looking in comparison to the more earthy and natural tones.

But get it done man, looking solid.

Alrighty, thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated!

Thresher:
Thank you! I figure since she's traveling I'd like to play with all sorts of different environments.

And I figure she got the hair dye from some place she visited. That was my excuse for purple dread locks :p

Ahhhh thank ya! I'm gettin! :DD

This looks super promising and I love the characters. I'm doing something very similar at the moment with giant newts and their riders so this appeals to me straight away. :D

Plus horny satyrs, yay!

The pages. I can definitely tell alot what is going on, but before you progress could you maybe just define the panel borders a bit more, on photoshop with the line tool or whatever, just so we can get a clearer idea of which panels what at this stage. As I'm not too sure where one starts and the other ends at the moment.

Expressions and movement looks great.

I'm thinking at the moment, Remus is fucking around eating, while Aurora is getting chased by some human girl.
Then Remus throws the Thrysus stick to Aurora, or she puts it in his mouth to swing off, I'm unsure here.
She gets catapulted forward a bit?
Has a fight with the girl, eventually knocks her out with a headbutt. Not sure about the size of the panel before the headbutt. If it has an important combat move it might be better to enlarge it, if its just to show visually the placement of the characters I guess it is ok.
She gives Remus a berry, nice bonding moment to end on. Beautiful. :)

Thats my interpretation of it, so hopefully that will help you.

Oh gosh that sounds awesome! Remmy's gonna have to try to make him some new friends :D

Thanks so much for the feedback!  Yeah, better borders will definitely be added, promise!

You pretty much got most of it spot on, some things will be made more clear once I ink them. However you pretty much confirmed that pg2 is probably going to be a bit difficult to interpret even inked so I'll definitely have to try again.

Again thank you so much for the info! It's greatly appreciated!

I was just meditating on the word "thrysus" today, and then I found this. So bonus points for getting inside my head ;D

I like the design, especially your color choices and unique choice of species. The pages, though sketchy, do show promise, so I look forward to seeing more!

Also I'll be glad to see a full on Fantasy Void world, if you go that way ;)

I hope you're still working on this dude! I know I haven't commented in here, but I'm totally waiting eagerly to see you finish. It's so rare that someone new pops into the incubator with actual pages, I'm super excited.

Master Kent:
Good. I'm glad you received my mental satellite feed.
That's really interesting!

Thank you so much! I've been thinking of how Void will look... I think it definitely would be interesting if it were more fantasy based. :3

Puzzlethang:
Worry not, I am still working! This is really awesome to hear and definitely a huge motivator, so thank you for that <333 I was experimenting with traditional lining - seeing if  MAYBE I would be faster traditionally lining than digitally lining but alas - I am just pokey ;; Hoping to get some progress posted this weekend!

Welp. I wanted to experiment if lining traditionally would be faster than lining digitally. Technically, I'm a teensy bit faster, but the amount of time I spent editing the scans probably plus inking the pages would have amounted to digitally inking pages.

However, I learned some things, and though I am not looking forward to scanning the last two pages of my intro, I'm still excited to be going through with this!

So have pages 1 and 4 inked. Goin' out of order cuz I'm a rebel.

This is beautiful stuff. I'm always amazed at people who can fit so much detail into their work like you do. Keep it up!

Eeeee thank you so much!! <33

Red:
Thanks :D

Alright. Didn't get as much work done as I had planned - it was a lot busier at work this past week. However, I did get Page 1 colored!

Oh, and since there weren't a lot of people who were into Aurora's purple dreads, I made them more reddish-brown. Better? I'll update her ref sheet laters~

For her dreds, I think the purple would've been fine if only it were desaturated a bit. That said, the brown does look lovely on her.

Great color choices--can't wait to see these characters in matches soon!

Looks good! As a colorist, I really appreciate that you colored the ! such a vivid color. Not everyone takes color as a tool for expression in comics so it's always great to see.

Thanks for the feedback! The brown is kinna growing on me.. I think it really lets her grape vine frame her face. :3

Thank you! I can't wait to get iinnnnn!!

Angie:
Oh gosh, that means a lot coming from you, thank you so much! I absolutely love the way you can incorporate emotion just from your color choices.. I'd like to be able to do that :D

Inked Page 3

Speed lines are completely new territory for me. Actually, action/fighting scenes are as well XD Now that I'm staring at it on here, I'm definitely going to add more speed lines to the first panel. Also - not sure if too much empty space? I figured if I added a lot of background detail, it would clutter up the panels...
