For years the Speed Death Tournament has taken hundreds of lives and for years on it will take hundreds more, but once in a blue moon people are taken away in such large numbers and in such ferocity that only one term can be given to this gory event. . .

THE DEATH ROYALE!

10 CHARACTERS, 1 SURVIVOR!

"Alright, what's THIS one about, Mr. Pitchman?"

The Death Royale is a combination of both the Speed Death Tournament and the Battle Royale in a hellish mixture of gore and blood upfront. This is a good situation if you're the kind of person who can't take the short deadlines of the SDT but want to kill someone, if you've been dying for new characters death matching, or if you just prefer long deadlines to work with!

"Oh, like the Speed Death Tournament? So this will all be a bunch of short battle and I can die and go back to doing whatever it was I was doing?"

If long deadlines aren't your thing, think hard about joining this event! This will be one 6 weeks long battle instead of a series of 1 week matches ! If you don't know if you can handle working on a comic for such a long time period without lollygagging for the majority of it, then ask yourself if you're going to really be able to do it! It's going to just be one battle that will last from June 19th to July 31st!

ONCE AGAIN, THE DRAWING PERIOD FOR THIS WILL BE FROM JUNE 19TH TO JULY 31ST!

"Say, what's with this 10 characters stuff?"

Like the Battle Royale, there's only 10 slots available for this death tournament! Unlike the last Battle Royale however, there will not be any second Royal Rumble going on here! Space is limited for mean sonsabitches to make mean comics!

"So what's required material here if I want to participate?"

Like the Speed Death Tournament, new characters will only require a Design Sheet and Bio. Intro pages are optional and not required. Since the uploader will not let you pass without Intro images, use the Design Sheet for all fields. During the sign up/join period, submit your character through the main site, otherwise you won't be counted among the participants and won't be accepted!

"Rofl! I don't like making new characters! Can I prove my existing character's badassitude by submitting them to the Death Royale?"

Most people create a new character for Death tournaments, however, existing characters are acceptable as well. But be mindful! If they die, they're dead! There's a reason it's called the Death Royale. It's highly recommended that you make a new character for this!

"Is this first come first serve?"
No, this is not first come first serve. Make a proper design sheet, sign up. There will be a vote on who gets in.

ONCE AGAIN, THIS IS NOT FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVE. THERE WILL BE A VOTE FROM THE MODERATORS AND THINK TANKS ON WHO WILL GET INTO THIS TOURNAMENT!

THE NITTY GRITTY FACTS:
* Character Applications for this event will be taken until June 18th.
* The Drawing Time for this event is 45 days/6 weeks drawing time, beginning June 19th and ending on July 31st.
* This is a DEATH match. The "Death" in Death Royale is literal!
* 7 page minimum.
* All Character Applications will need to submit their character through the Main Site by June 18th, at the latest.
* The final selection of characters will done via vote by the think tanks, mods, etc. etc. of Void.
* Comic MUST feature all 10 characters in some way, shape, or form.
Not meeting requirements will result in automatic disqualification from the tournament for the Artist as well as the chance to be shamed by all of their peers.

Marcus Fogal a.k.a. "The Death Penguin" grew up in the mean streets of VOID in the Furry Projects. Constantly harassed by other spieces and the VCPD, Marcus grew up cold and calloused, not trusting anyone. His only friend in the world was his father who taught him how to fight and solve the many problems he faced in VOID city as a furry with his fists.

But when Marcus's father was killed but a (not so) stray bullet i a VCPD raid on the docks of VOID, Marcus snapped. He's now out to get revenge on the VCPD for taking the only good thing from his life away from him.

He's not looking for help, he's just looking for blood.

japanese red-crowned crane that is also...
a 5'7" graceful but deadly swordsman
lean muscular build, swift on feet
white-greyish eyes
the red mark is skin, long hair is black, short hair is white feathery
female (but neither feminine nor masculine and often mistaken to be male)
likes to eat fish & drink hot sake/green tea
prefers to be by water
does not express emotion like humans but more like a bird, often appearing blank
fights with either one or both swords depending on the situation
arm block is leather-like and useful against weapon/fist blocks, but not other kantanas

Miyamota Musashi had many students to which he taught the Ni-Ten Ichi Ryu (two sword) technique as well as many teachings. There is rumor is that a few years before he had died that one of his students returned and was given as a gift his two swords, a painting, and a request. "take my swords, but do not use them but guard them well, and when you too retreat from the settled lands into the mountains, seek this place-" marked on a map, "there is a shrine, a Buddha sits by a small lake, here you will write or paint and watch over the cranes. it is there you will learn my secret."

The student did as his much respected teacher asked and retired to the shrine at this old age. And then one day a samurai, rogue ruthless and mad, crazy you could say, killed the old and humble student shortly after hearing his story, but leaving swords behind as not believing a word of it. A crane descends on the scene and asks the Buddha for a favor.

The crane is a samurai but also still a crane, but only with the swords can she in a form to fight in and put an end to the mindless slaughtering of former Musashi students by infamous Crazy Samurai of Void Provence. What obstacles lie on the way? We shall see.

She, though androgynous features, fights like the sword's ancient master. Or perhaps she... being something older, was their original master. Peaceful, neutral, focused... but mortal (as per Buddha deal).

important note: the character is traditional Japanese samurai inspired, but not limited to adaptation to whatever time period/setting you do,

Oops, I flubbed that one. There's no first-come first-serve here. I failed to write down (or more likely assumed everyone would expect that) there will be a vote from the moderators and think tanks behind the scenes on who ultimately gets into the Death Royale. During the 1960's, The Russians started an experiment in a new form of chemical warfare. They brought in an old man, and replaced his blood with a synthetic substitute, with toxic qualities. The man was to enter America and poison water supplies and food supplies and such with his own blood.

But the man had died shortly after the blood transfusion. He was noted to not decay in the slightest, and still possess great value to science, and instead of being buried, was locked away in a vault.

Many years passed. The Cold War ended.


Deep inside the forgotten vault, the man awoke. His skin a rotten color, his eyes a pitch black. His mind rotted inside his skull, but remained active in strange ways. While his brain had degraded, and the man's sense of time and purpose and any rational thought had vanished, it learned to control the toxic blood.

The man slit his wrist. The toxins poured out... but began to float. The toxins wrapped themselves around the vault door, and burned through it. It then returned to the man's body.

The nameless man had learned to control his blood in anyway possible.

The man deemed the Plague of the Red Star was free, and was off to begin what he was created to do: Kill all Americans.
