Now while the two punch approach seems like a sane way to make a developed arc for battles, it is also great if you want to nail a comic with an overarching message or point to prove. Everytime I read a battle that has a specific theme going for it tends to carry a lot more weight with it. This message or theme doesnt have to be anything deep, it could be as simple as a first kiss or as obscure as waiting in line. It's these kinds of anchors that makes the bizarre setting of void feel human and relatable.
