Armageddon 2010Armageddon is our (nearly) yearly event that pits six defending artists against a Threat to VOID City. The Threat can be either one or two artists (selected by the Council) who will then create a new character or situation that puts VOID City in danger. Each side illustrates this confrontation in the form of sequential art, and submit it as their half of the entry. The Defenders job is to come together and, using their six characters, defend the city from the Threat. They must come together as a team and produce one sixth-part sequential that will act as their team's submission. If the Defenders win, the city is safe and the Threat is killed off. If the Defenders lose then no one is safe.
A 6 slot one round event.
The collective Defenders will be responsible for a group comic depicting their confrontation with the Threat, and must include all defender's characters.
The 'Threat' artists will in turn be responsible for the creation of a comic, and must include all defender's characters.
Details:
* Artist Application ends April 30
* Official Selection of Defenders and Announcement of Threat will be on May 3
* Drawing Begins on May 3rd - Deadline is June 13
* Voting will take place between June 16 - June 30
* Both comics MUST contain the all Defenders as well as Threat
* ALL Defender Artists MUST co-operate as a team towards a group entry. No solo efforts or entries are allowed and will result in Default
* 5 page minimum, per artist
* Not meeting requirements will result in Default.
* 'Dropping Out' after selection or failing to submit will also be considered a Default.
Artists will be selected from Applicants by Council Majority Vote
If the Defenders win they will have the Title of 'Armageddon Defender 2010' added to his/her character profile on the Main Site as well as the self satisfaction of knowing that he/she is really really going somewhere*
If the Threat wins....they will live on to engage in carnage and destruction for another day...ripe with the self satisfaction that no one will be able to stand in their way ever again and they really are 6 times better than the average artist.
*Satisfaction is not guaranteed by EnterVOID.com and EnterVOID.com is in no way responsible if you are not in actual fact better than anyone else and do not end up going somewhere after winning this tournamentA Default by any artist will result in an automatic 6 month retirement for the Artist from any and all activities on the Main Site....and no one will want to be your friend ever again and you will have to take your cousin to the senior prom.
This is very very serious...this is one of our biggest events on VOID....Artist Selection will be very tight and only artists with a proven track record will be accepted. Only applicants with at least 3-4 comics completed on Void (not counting defaults or unfinished comics) will be considered. Only serious and commited applicants please.....no futzing around this one......we won't be happy with any half assing on this one.... Wei is standing by to take Angie off of her 'BooBooKitty' Leash.
