Oh hey, excellent work! I agree with Wolick, experiment with different hard and soft brushes I suppose-- still, neat stuff!

LOOKING FOR INPUT ON SHADING
with this work-in-progress page.

Am I headed in some right direction, or should I try something new? etc.

What's shaded here is the only parts I was liking to be honest. But I'll see what else i can think up... I want the Gigara comics to look different from Arena comics.

try doing flats first instead of just doodly brushwork. also remember about greyscale value, yours doesnt even feel like shadow or 'form'.

http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm might help.
Get ready- pop it, let's go.

Cool. I think I have a good idea of which direction to take now.

Yeah that really brought a lot more life to that scene, and it just overall makes it look neater and more finished than it was before. Keep going in that direction for sure!

The difference in those pictures is extreme. The second version actually had me interested in the scenery. I stopped to have a look around and take in the details.

I'm lousy at perspective and background in general, so I'll just side with jho; finish up the lineart before taking on shadows. The later picture would be so much better if the lines were less doodly.

The road for example. I don't know if that was the intention, but it looks kind of wonky at the rear. Because of the perspective the image draws attention to it, and it takes away from the rest of the drawing which is much better.

that road's assymetry is intentional actually; I wanted a poorly constructed road

In a perfect world I would draw a whole comic that looks kinda like this.

Yessir.

Kinda a cop-out I guess since I DO have the art supplies needed to make it on real big paper, but time is of the essence to me nowadays. :X

My two SDT options. I thought of putting this in the Incubator but to prevent the likely possibility of getting "pyras you idiot it's too soon"ed to high hell I'll just slap it here O:

At least it's not Papyrus for Abdul.

I like these characters! They fit their descriptions respectively.

It's not too early, I designed my SDT entry last week.
