Had on old thread here about half a year ago. The search couldnt find it so I guess its been removed because its too old and inactive or something.

Well since I have just submitted my first comic to the site, I guess it was about time to post some art at the forum again :)

Two weeks before trying to get into an artschool i realise i dont have enough paintings that i would be willing to show. So from here on out, a painting each day :3

Based on a photo by Chamberstock.deviantart.com

The camera kinda dulled down the colors. Too bad cause i was really happy with em. Overall a nice painting for 4-5 hours I think.

I think of all the images in the thread so far, I like the landscape the best.  It shows the deepest variance in the ink and cross hatching (which actually makes the solid black foreground stand out as a little odd).

Also, I think linking to the images you're referencing might help as well.  The person above appears to have his picture taken under some extreme lighting to get such a solid white on the back of his leg and solid black on the front.  I think adding more line variance into the human pieces would go a long way toward improving things.

Here's to hoping I get to see more cool lookin' landscapes from ya

The reference photo of the landscape was really dark in the foreground. But the reason i made it solid black was because i finished it less than an hour before applying to an artschool. And that was part of my application.

The photo of the guy wasnt that extreme at all with the lighting. Thats just how i wanted to make it. :3 (Im working my way to realism, just you wait)

Oh and linewith was out of the question since I drew them with a marker.

edit: Oh and I almost forgot. I got myself a tablet :D
I made a speed painting out of the first real drawing I did with it so I can look back at it in the future. Took about 40 minutes. Ive since discovered that having the taplet tilted rather than laying flat on a table works much better.

And here is the finished image. Kinda wonky, I know, I wasnt planning ahead when i did anything :p

edit: some random practice drawings to get better with the tablet. Im gettin there.

the red baron. I recorded a speedpainting for it but it got all kinds of fucked up.
The color version wazs just something silly just for fun. The one below it is the actual finished picture.

This was my first digital painting.

referenced from this old ww1 photo. I didnt capture him completely but it turned out ok.

Because terminator Salvation is much better than the reviews told me it would be. Here is a T-600.

Tried drawing with a brush and ink. I think i need some darker ink, this would go better for shading.

Looks cool! You can also mess with the curves in Photoshop to get darker inks if that's what you're looking for.

This first one got pretty cruddy coloring and I dont know why but I completely forgot about having some contrast in it.

This one I just went with simple flats so I wouldnt screw it up.

Some experiments.

Some of he following styles worked better than others. But they were all first tries for my in those styles so I dont feel any of em were a complete failure.
