On the sunglasses i think it would be better with the colors in a more contrasting order to better represent the shinyness if you know what I mean .

Also the blue highlights round the eyes noes and mouth seem slightly too harsh
I think if you went a little more subtly with it it would look nicer   but I actually quite like the pic so good job:D

Yeah, I didn't like the glasses much... but I'm not really clear as to how exactly I should render them...

looks cool, I like it.

I say pick a lighter skin tone and add some highlights to the face. And perhaps a bit more definition to the hair(?) or is it a helmet? D:

Here's another thing, though I don't think it stands out too much, but the placement of the eyes (the blue part) look a little weird, but maybe that's just me.

Well GORSH!

I let this thing slip into the FIFTH PAGE!

Time to drop some scraps in here

That one's a terrible scan, the real drawing is like an inch tall.

Another one with the same character and some random bug.

Btw that's Eve the first character I let drown in the incubator.
I might eventurally work on getting her in but I'm still stuck on Carmen seeing as my dog ate my wacom pen....

i have more stuff but I don't want to swamp this right away.

Just drawing away in my sunless den, these aren't anybody in particular I just was practicing with pens, I still cant keep my hand steady.

I guess that's the handicap to offset my NATURAL TALENT!

And a quick one of Carmen my other character in arrested development

I think this pen's dying...

Whee more stuff nobody will see!

Is anyone else suspicious of the large hit-boxes when using the huntsman?

And another more detailed sketch of Carmen, still haven't gotten that new stylus in the mail yet.

You don't need a stylus to do finished work! Let's see something more than sketches!

On another note, I think you're jumping the style gun a bit early, because there's often inconsistencies with your form and figure, even within the "style" you're trying to use. In addition to finished work, I'd like to see some anatomy and figure studies from you.

Keep drawing, let's see more!

yeah pi makes a good point.

a stylus is neat. they act just like a pencil or a pen or a brush. but the same sort of mechanics could be found, using a pencil or a pen or a brush, for real. don't wait! you can scan & digitally fix sketches when you get the stylus. but use this time now to focus on working on, & finishing stuff traditionally. it only makes working digitally a lot easier.

beyond that, your faces & posturing could use some more work. it's fine to be loose but there's something almost procedural about how you draw every set of eyes or faces.

Variety in the head/face area is definitely something i need work on, thanks.

The only reason I want the stylus is for coloring, I intend to use traditional means to do lineart since I only have a bamboo tablet and that's crap. i just cant replicate the coloring style in what i have finished so far in the ref sheet with a mouse.

But back to the variety problem, is there any good websites you guys can suggest I go to for drawing study?

draw people.
life studies.
get to a mall or some other place were you can people watch & just draw what you see. for the most part, everyone's going to look different. draw those differences. websites are a last resort. if you're 50 miles away from the nearest town or something, then rely on those.

Carmen and her pack of cronies are now on the backburner

Eve's back up to be my first character. Just not yet.

Speaking of Eve,

Tried to see how just pencils work out for "inks", It might work, but I think I'll stick to digital; as I still murder drawings with inks.

ANNNND

Made this as a birthday present for one of my friends. Thought it was hideous while I was drawing it...
That's a good sign right?

So this is almost a ref sheet for my first character idea.
It's been a long since the first time eve has shown up on these forums.
But it's only really for me to not forget specific details and to get used to drawing her consistently.
It doesn't exactly fit the requirements for a ref sheet here and I don't see myself starting battles here soon so in the go for broke it goes.

It isint too big is it? Should I just link to it?

It's not too big, don't worry about it.

You seem to already have the chops for drawing, just finish up the submission!

That robot girl you posted looks amazing, do more finished stuff like that!

So to psyche me up for starting a character finally, I wanted to make a banner for the invitational tourney ill just put all of the head shots here as I go along.

Edit: Fuck. This is going to be a loooooooooong page by the time I'm done.

Those headshots are nice!  Love the second expression on Eve's sheet.

Thinking about joining the Invitational?

===========thisdoesnothavetobereadscrollpastitplease======

Last Tuesday was the first day of my fith year at highschool.

As part of an experiment I resolved to stop being such a defensive little shit and start talking to people and being friendly and all that crap.

The first thing I did was attempt to talk a girl I was mildly interested in.
I sat in class drawing her after finishing up paperwork, and at the end of class caught up to her and made up bull shit about
how everyday I draw somone I found visually striking and that I thank them once finished.

Thanked her for being interesting and got a smile outta her.

============stupidlifebullshitover============
==============there be art here=========

Turns out actrually drawing someone everyday is pretty fun and the person is pretty psycked about it everytime.

so heres five before I burned out:

heh niiiiiiiiiiiiice. looks interesting. Funny enough, I think we have something in common cause when i am at work ( during my break) i draw one of my co-workers that may happen to be sittin around. Then show em the pic before they leave lol.

but overall, its pretty cool.

by the way i had this site passed down to me not too long ago, so i figured why not pass it along.

www.posemaniacs.com

its pretty legit, especially the 30 sec. drawing thing.
