thanks for the ocmments guys!
flutter: azuki are a kind of beans and i couldnt get it out of my head haha
Radji: haha can you guess what is my fave mocie of all time? :P
Colin: love ya too haha
Ura: hm and how did you find it once you read the comics back? I generally try to create stand alone comics that work on their own (as of last year at leats haha), but there is obviously an overarching plot here.
Will: fuck you an your backhanded compliments ;)
Spoon: you will find out soon...
Also regarding the representation of Azuki, like I said it's the beans thing :P I was half expecting to not get my comic posted cos i am aware of how far removed this is from the original thing. I generally have been trying to extract the main features of the character and somehow try to represent them in my comics which are quite surreal and experimental. So in the case of Azuki I so far found it the most difficult - so I went on features that: she came from the main character (Stephanie originally, håret in my comic), she is a very damaging presence in her life though. However it superficially is not a malicious presence. And then there are the kawaii eyes and wings haha.

FEARN- Your comics throughout LSDT have been a breath of fresh air. Definitely something different and never as straightforward as 'here's my opponent. I'mma beat him!' This was a visually bittersweet story. I can see now why you said this comic may of been inspired by your love life, lol. Funny how comics take on a bigger impact when they take from life. you had some lovely literal AND symbolic imagery going on this time around and while I adore this as a standalone comic, I'm not so sure it jives with me as a comic for LSDT. I get the representation of who your opponent was meant to be, but I don't think they got satisfactorily featured.
Also the mystery of that hair change. What does it mean? what's happening to our silent starlet? I am dying to know.
EVI- The opening of your comic really sets the stage for some chilling subject matter. I only wish your coloring matched the tone I think you were trying to set. I know your style tends to be rather crisp and overly clean, but I think some heavy shadows, or grittiness in your paneling would've added that extra oomph to demon doll Haret coming at young Steph. Still, on the flipside, where you succeeded in giving me the willies was page two and Azuki's blackhole eyes. Coupled with that assumed 'loving' embrace I got the willies!
This relationship has definitely take a turn for the spooky. Color me intrigued to know how this all ends up!

I just want to say that I love Fearn's comics. Fearn is currently one of my favorite artists on Void and I love all of her comics. That being said, though I like this one too and the visual pun of Azuki, I have to give it to Evi this round. The twist really got me interested in the character like never before and suddenly turned everything on it's side. Great job guys.

Wow, what great comics from both of you!
Fearn: I had to go back and read some of the other Haret comics you did and wow - I love the style of your art! It's so pretty and simple and the detail that goes into it is insane! Story-wise it's like it's meta on a whole different level - totally different from previous interpretations of A z u k i and though I find it super interesting, I found myself wanting just a little more of A z u k i in it as opposed to something that felt like it was only alluding to her? I was somehow expecting more of her and not something that merely represented a part of her... but then again, maybe that's just me :)
Evi: I find myself continually impressed by how twisted your mind gets. You seem to have a whole level in your mind dedicated to thinking up crazy ass shit. I commend you for that. Quality wise it's not as impressive as your first round but then again, you did note almost getting sick so maybe that might be the reason. I was a little surprised by how abruptly you seemed to drop us in a flashback but the third page ties it all together and that's something I appreciate :> I assume the normalcy in A z u k i on the first and second pages is because Stephanie is younger so she doesn't see the way A z u k i acts as anything wrong or abnormal which contrasts the other comics and the third page where she's the product of a young girl's mind and looking at it from Older!Stephanie's point of view, A z u k i is now Mary-Sueish and just overall a bad character design - which is an interesting if not super meta contrast to make.
Anyway! Great job you guys and good luck! <3

So is Azuki... a bad idea in Fearn's comic that's good fun at the time but must be ultimately destroyed? Evil little anime beans. That's an interesting take on an old OC!
Speaking of bad ideas, OCs take a darker turn in Evi's comic as well! I assume there's a reason Azuki's so much better drawn (and typeset) in the past, and why her appearance is changing now. How intriguing!
