Now that votes are over... Monday- I'm gonna echo everyone's sentiments and say that the plotline is very hard to comprehend. I don't know if it's pacing, all the establishing very quickly (Savannah showing up abruptly, the harvest festival being portrayed but then it cutting to Kids Meal's training facility), or the white-on-black visuals making it sometimes difficult to get a clear conveyed contrast of forms and figures, or some combination, but I had a really hard time understanding what was happening the first couple times I read it. A part of it may be that there's just so much happening in a short span of time, without enough breathing room to digest what's going on. Crafty- Your buildup and depiction of Michigan is again really great here, and your shape-based style is gorgeous. I'm kind of interested to see where you go with Roswell and Michigan's friendship in your final round. The ending is a bit abrupt but, with like a page or so of wind-down (especially considering it ends at the climax of the story) it could've ended very neatly. Congrats to both of you! Crafty, bring us another great one for the final!

Crafty- I really feel you needed a couple more pages to finish this off, it felt like you were building up to a big fight and then there just wasn't one. It feels incomplete. Monday- I understand what other people are saying about your stuff being confusing, but I can't really recommend anything specific because as much as people like to parrot phrases like 'show, don't tell' that doesn't mean they actually understand what they are saying. You could communicate better, in theory, but I don't have specific guidance to help you with that.

I'm honestly confused why everybody else seems confused by Monday's stuff... I might be new to this place, but his work seems to focus on what's important to the narrative at hand and leaves the rest for your imagination to fill in... the only way his stuff could be clearer (from my PoV at least) is if he started putting in bulky, distracting exposition narrator text blocks.

The mystery surrounding KM's predicament in the river was intentionally left out and meant to be revealed in the next fight [if it happens] BUT THANKS for everyone who read this and commented :v I hope to build up enough trust with the reader to be well understood in the next comic : >

crafty: for such a short comic this still looks visually terrific so props to that! The pacing isn't too bad except for the last three pages unfortunately, where everything goes a mile a minute and the action is hard to follow overall. the emotions built up in the first half kinda falls apart here cause this comic really needed at least a few more pages to build the emotional weight of the end with a longer, more understandable tumble. But at the end of the day you got nothing to prove to us, we all already know how amazing a comic artist you are from head to toe~ Monday: This is one of my favorite comics of yours and I think the best Kid's Meal we've had so far (and none of this has to do with the cameo <3 which by the way we need to have a talk about for deets!). You hit all the right notes for the most part, the art is the best yet (especially page 7 that one is downright inspired) the setup is interesting, the fight is engaging, the ending is solid. However, what is most needed here (and something you need to work on overall) is more comprehensible narrative. Although I greatly enjoyed the comic, I had to read it like 3 times to fully understand what's going on (and I still have questions actually, like how Kid's Meal ended up in the river, was he dropped there by his trainers? why?) Honestly, I think the confusion from your image choices and plot choices is the only thing holding you back from winning more battles in general so try to find a way to deliver your unique vision to us while also allowing us to see it as clearly as you do even with hangups, fantastic job you guys, and I know you'll keep it up!

crafty that was a good show but in the end it was cut short and i would have liked to see something more fightwise. kidsmeal goes down so fast it left me quiet dissapointed. monday this was a blast overall. i love the flower idea i like the tension between the involved characters and it was very entertaining with a nice plottwist. very well done. actually i was a little sad when it was over.

I'm kind of relieved, between international flights and jet lag I lost quite a bit of time as well. I'm glad to see something from you : )

So, I wish I was joking when I say that I did this in a week, but, ha, I'm not. Half of my drawing time was eaten by travelling/university interviews (Fortunately I got to live with Jetster for a few days. Unfortunately Jetster had to live with me for a few days.) Anyway it couldn't really be helped, but I managed to finish a thing, although I had to forego my usual cover (unless I manage to whip one up in the next 18 hours). So if the comic looks rough (it does) this is the reason (I'm sorry). I wish I had been able to bring my A-game to you, Monday! On the upside, all of the universities want a piece of me

He is physically female, this is most obvious in human form, but being partially/fully transformed comes with typically masculine features, like height, hair, muscle, deeper voice. He identifies as male. (Hence the dislike of being forcibly (if temporarily) de-wolf-ed.)
