Now you just need to take some more time on your backgrounds and you'll be a force of nature Gregly: This is a really neat comic, I'm afraid what kills it for me is the unfinished look but there you go, hopefully next comic you make will be more polished keep up the great work y'all!

Hobbittastic: I really enjoyed your art, and your video game tropes were fun and cute. I also like the part where Princess Nikto gets mad that Pixel Princess can't return her to her home planet. I feel like the end fell flat, however. I was expecting something bad to happen, but the plan worked just fine and then there was basically a whole page where nothing happened. The last panel was cute, though. You are getting better and better, so just just push your story further and keep doing all the good stuff you're already doing! Gregly: Quality definitely suffered a lot here, but there's a lot of good stuff going for you, too! You used a lot of really great angles, and I love the way you used color and white. The design of those invader bug thingies is really awesome, too! I love all of your character and environment designs, so hey! Maybe just clean it up some more next time, especially around word bubbles and text. I enjoyed both of these comics! Good luck next round to both of you!

Hobbit: Really big step up from last round, you're really doing the great kind of work I know you're absolutely capable of achieving. Your line art and movement were really strong in this comic and I thought you did a great job showing off your character here for the uninitiated. Speaking of the line art, I think it'd be interesting if in the future you tried to work on recreating pixels with your line art, I think that'd be kind of cool to see. Your backgrounds are the weakest part here for me. You could have spared some detail on the floor or walls. More hanging wires, tubes, just some silhouettes in the background would have really made the difference and boosted your work up a lot. A few lines here and there could really take your work up a lot higher if the backgrounds can become more than empty space. I also wish you would have utilized your shadows or grays more, since they really helped to fill out your work when you used it. Overall, you had a fun story and a fun comic, I was really happy to see you improve on yourself with it and do better than your last round, I hope you hit a stride and keep on going at it with this tournament. Super work. Gregly: Good to see you continue the story. Somewhat weaker than the first in terms of content, but I thought it was clever usage of your opponent and definitely a cool follow-up. I was a little disappointed to see OS-1 bite the dust, but I was glad we got to see him fulfill his purpose and continue on in the story. I feel like this is a step down from your previous work's quality, the coloring was good, but not enough. I wish the pages had been more like the final panel on the last page, because the two-tone character/background color really helped your pencils pop and look good. You've got a really charming art style and it's interesting to see you take the tone in a completely different direction than your usual Gwen & Regi. I also really have enjoyed your SRT run, Princess Nikto feels really strong when she's going solo compared to commanding her entire race. Great job on your part.

Hobbit- I personally wish you did more with your comic in terms of your ending. You had a good setting going on and I thought the fact that Pixel couldn't help with Nikto's specific problem would have lead to something more of an entertaining conflict, but it was solved anyway. I'm imagining that pixel threw Nikto into the sun by accident to get some kind of entertainment out of the ending. Aside from that, your art's improved a bunch here and I'm digging what you did with black and white. In terms of Quality, you're taking it. Gregly: Tho your comic suffered a bit in the Quality department, I found yours to be more engaging to me when I was reading it. You managed to fit Nikto and Pixel into something that would keep that pixel motif going (Space invaders was a nice touch!). My nitpick would be your speech bubble placement being kind of weird in the first page. Panels 3-7 I understood was meant to be read left, to right, to left again, but for some, it might be more confusing to get. Aside from that, I dig this comic, nice job!

HOBBITO- Another slick and sassy comic from you! I dare say you seem to have hit your stride and tightened up a couple things that were lacking in your first round. I dig that you're really committing to this videogame motif with that first page. way to make use of an animated gif with her little player icon- super cute! Also, I also like that the pop ups saying thins like Nikto joined your party were utlizied. If you're really going down this route really commit to it! Maybe style your comic into a side scroller. Have videogame inspired challenges for the characters to overcome. Its such a cool concept, I just think it'd be fun to see utilized with P.P. this is a personal preference, but I really wish the pixel aspect of Pixel Princess translated to her overall design. I love that some bits of her old clothes and even her abilities are in pixel, but they seem so stark and out of place next to the sharp crisp linework that makes up her body. Storywise, this was a sweet interaction, but I feel you missed the opportunity for a great gag. I kept expecting Pixel to toss Nikto's spaceship and have it fly into the sun, or just fall to the ground a foot or two away. As it stands, the current end you have is just meh. GREGLY- It seems the week deadline took a toll on some of your page quality which is a bummer, but I mean a week to make a cohesive comic is tough! Despite the roughness, there is one thing that blew me away and that's your depiction of Pixel princess and all her pixely abilities. I simply love how geometric and 'just popped out of a game' she looks in your comic. Its obvious to had fun with this battle. If there's one panel I really can't believe you freehanded traditionally, its the one on page 2, panel 4 where that bit of static cuts through her body. Just really stunning! The action scenes with Pixel battling were definitely pages I couldn't get enough of, though I feel, once you read it all at once, this felt like two separate stories. you left your tale at a rather ominous cliffhanger, which is a clever hook to keep your readers wondering, so good on ya!

ahh this is a tough call, you guys both did great and these came out so cute! Hobbit- you draw cute expressions and gesture, very animated! The story was cute, I hope Nikto made it alright lol. I like your very strong blacks, though it seemed to be used to hide the background a lot lol. My biggest complaint I think is that Nikto seemed to change size a couple times but other than that it was a delight! Gregly- I like your panel layout and your action scenes. I even kind of like the coloured panels- in a way it looks a but unfinished but I think it also helps with the flow and scene transitions. i wish Nikto and Pixel had actually had a chance to interact at all- the space invaders battle was cute but without either character actually acknowledging each other it made it a little harder to get into.

Bobittastic - I like the use of gifs, hope you use it more for the stat numbers like the 1ups and such. - Nice use of blacks, please push it more! - I really liked your story and I only wish to have seen more if only the deadline was longer. -Page 3 and 4 gave me a little trouble. Mainly the staging of the two characters and their respective rooms. - On page 3 you should have established better that Pixel was looking at Nikto from the other room cause then that way, her looking behind her and then walking towards Nikto woulda read better. If it wasn't for the fact that I understood your intention, I would have been instantly confused. - Also when dealing with huge height difference, be careful with inconsistencies, take reference if you need to if these things cause you trouble in the near future. Gregly - I liked the limited palette for your comic! - You used Pixel Princess in a creative way which I dig. - I also loved your paneling, it was dynamic and fit the pacing. -The last three panels were confusing, I thought you were showing us a crosswalk that was going to show us that Nikto escaped onto the streets but then I later realizedthat the stripes were that of a vent. It coulda been easier to distinguised if you woulda used that patterned on the shaft on the 4th to last panel and maybe further identify it as something important to look at with the use of a different color or sound effects of Nikto's machine walking or something.

Nice job guys! Both are fun comics! Hobittastic - I really like the black shading going on in this fight, but then again I'm a sucker for it in general. Gregly - I really like your style and the premise was cool (and sci-fi, my other weakness). The action bits were my fave (my other other weakness) :)

@hobittastic: You maintain good movement and expressions with your characters. Their expressions helped me want to read what they had to say in their dialogue bubbles, so you're doing something right there. Strong set-up in the first page too and a little bit in the first panel of the 2nd page. However I am really despising your environments, especially your interior designs for the first 4 pages. The interiors fall apart when you make amateur mistakes such as tangents (2nd page, 3rd panel) with the (newspaper?) and a solid black block that represents a doorway. The crosshatching technique isn't strong enough to become an aesthetic statement in the total art. Rather than helping the eye move to parts of your composition, it draws attention to itself in the worst way possible. I became a lot less irritated with the entry after the 4th page when the environments became simplified and less distracting, but by then i lost interest in the story because of those 4 pages. If I were you, i would begin doing master copies of life or photographic references of actual interiors and studying how lighting affects the ambiance and mood when light interacts with walls and objects. I would also recommend studying crosshatching techniques and how to "trace" around a form to create an illusion of 3d a la moebius and dore. @Gregly: I didn't really care much for what the characters had to say because I didn't feel invested because of the weak set up in the first page set-up of your entry. It felt like work when I saw how many panels were in the first page with that much dialogue combined with the bland coloration, so i didn't bother. However, your action sequence was ace, and the action itself was easy to follow and entertaining, especially the 4th page. If you had opened your comic with a similar composition and economy like that of the 4th page I could say I would be more willing to invest in the story more.
