4:00AM - Always impressed by your intricate lines. It all feels unfinished, but your character design is nice--that bear is cute in a malevolent way! Please make more comics! I missed seeing your style. JHO - Lovely vibrant colors in this comic--almost like a kaleidoscope at times with how the values change. I do agree with the comment that it’s a bit hard to read the action in parts, especially the last page. Overall nice work though! I missed seeing your comics here too.

4 AM- man the only complaint i have is the page quality, the aesthetic was a bit jarring but It started working a bit more towards your favor near the end. Jhp- this aws a bit different from the some of your journal comics so I had to give it another lookthrough before giving my evaluation. your color choices were dope, although in some instances your greys felt a bit too muddy. Given that this was done in a week though, I can't really hate.

Jho. Your stuff is amazing as usual. It's kind of hard to tell what's going on sometimes, but it's all very beautiful and a real pleasure to look at. This speed death tournament has really brought out some fantastic battles. Excellent work!

4:00am: I like your bear, but I really have nothing to say beyond that. The whole comic feels half-hearted and just generally unfinished. The lack of dialogue where there seems to have been some planned is distracting (and if you were hoping to make this a silent comic, you should have communicated more through people's expressions, gestures, etc. so I know what's going on). J.j flipping Pockets off was pretty funny, though. Jho: Your colors were really pretty to look at, but I didn't really understand what was going on visually. The narration made sense, and the general feeling your visuals evoked seemed to go along with what you were trying to say, but I really have no idea what's going on on page 4 or 5, and I can't tell what Pockets is doing on page 3 or how it fits into your story at all. Still, an interesting premise; I'm curious to see where it goes. I just hope your next comic can be a little more clear for me. EDIT: I just read your comic again and it made much more sense. I think I'm just tired today and nothing quite makes it through to my brain. So.... uhhh

First off, solid efforts both of you. I enjoyed both reads. 4:00AM - It seems like you took photos of your pages for the upload. The flair on the pages is distracting. If you did take photos try to find a room with more even lighting. I liked your line work a lot but I think the time put into the first page may have taken away from the time you could have used to elaborate on the meeting/fight scene. All in all a really good entry for one week. Don't think I could do better. Jho - Your use of color stands out very strong here but the lines in some of the actions scenes twist together and make the page flow hard to follow. The text blocks seem very bland in comparison to the very dramatic illustration style. Perhaps you should try hand drawing the boxes next time for a less "pasted on" feel. Again I am blown away by the coloring you did. Keep up the good work.

jho this is stunning ; ;!! your colors are so so great and vibrant. the messy approach is working for this! one of my faves this round for sure. gavin I wish these were presented better! last page looks pretty rough too, as well as the jj shots. but I agree that first page is super good and I wish it carried throughout!

Blasts from the past! 4:00am - Gavin, glad to see you back. The work on page 1 is excellent, man. I love the design of the bear on that page. The way you draw mechanical, cybernetic things has always been great. I think Giger would have been very proud of you. That said, I was a little sad that these look to have been photographed by a cell phone, rather than scanned, I think the pages lost a lot of impact due to being washed out by the camera flash. I also feel that some dialogue would have helped it flow better, however it is easy enough to tell what is happening aside from basic setup, so it's not like it is ruined without it, either. Jho - Again, good to see you back as well. I really liked the painted feeling of this comic. Fast motion looked really nice, and I liked the set up with the museum and the references to the city/site. J.J. looked great back in action, however at the same time, it was a little hard in places to tell what was happening, especially on the past page. It LOOKS like she impales the bear with a spike, is that correct? I think that the text could have elaborated a bit further into what was happening in the present battle, but still it was a pretty cool comic.
