zest- i like the landscape pages! you mostly kept your blacks on jules, it could have helped to have them on the backgrounds... but i really like the style of this comic and the way the story moves. really nice work with the sound effects too!
video- this comic looks really nice good color. the dialogue is pretty good, a little forced, but the action is really readable and i'm happy there was a bit of an actual fight. excited to see what you have planned!
ZEST- Seems a welcome back is in order! Always good to see the oldies returning to strut their stuff. It's as if you never left! Your quality seems to have picked up- namely on that first page. I was so struck by Jules intro via his shadow. Total Oogie Boogie feelings coming from that second panel. :) I especially liked your unique take on your opponents look. Seeing Jules face flop to the side when he leans over, and being posed awkwardly really made watching him a treat panel to panel.
I don't know if Angie's titan girlfriend on page 4 was a nod to the anime, but I'm taking it that way cuz that's hilarious. I do wish there was use of more black or distinguishing factors to make your characters stand out more. As it was, some of the activity kind of bleeds together and it takes a while to figure out what I'm looking at. Like Angie eating that piece of meat panel. Had no idea what that was until I read on.
VIDEO0320- Gosh, its so great to see VOID's resident spooky clown back in the city. The means to get these two tussling was kind of canned (oh snap! chance encounter!), so I hope you come up with a more creative interaction in future comics. Facing off against Leland was definitely an unexpected match, but I think you handled it rather well. It's always fascinating to learn something new about a fighter- namely their sweet clowny powers! Yeesh, after seeing Leland transform into a Jules ghoul it got me to thinking. Can you imagine if he touched every single person in VOID? He could have the city under his thumb for the short span of time everyone was possessed and RULE!
But I digress. Welcome back to comicking. man. Enjoyable battles from the both of yas!
oh my gosh, I cant believe you both wrote Leland turning into an evil clown, thats so much fun!! but Video, yours sort of left me wanting! like, now what happens?? whats Leland gonna do? what does Jules need to do?? you better not stop battling for a year with him again and leave us hanging! XD I like the colour draining from Leland, you had it mentioned before that it was a power Jules had but I'd never seen it in play before so that was a delight. I liked the action, and it was kind of fun to see Jules get his butt kicked a bit, heh.Your art is really coming alone, the gesture and expression shown here is improved from previous comics although your line weight is still a bit static. ahh, like I just want to fight Jules all over again so I can draw him doing more stuff XD hes such a great character!
Brian, ahh! I love how you draw Jules, this spindly, angular nightmare clown, and the fascinating way he moves! haha your Nightmare Leland is sort of adorable too, and i love how into this whole thing he gets like "oh I'm just dreaming anyway so LETS WRECK SHIT wow I am totally good at this" XD
I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE BOTH OF THESE CHARACTERS AGAIN
