Maaaaaan, it's totally like my only job to comment on stuff before they're submitted but I had like no chance with this. You were in and out of the approval manager like crazy fast! You have decently confident lines, and you could really compliment that (as well as your cartoony style) by pushing for more varied line weight. I'm not sure exactly what program you use, but try to use a more expressive brush, and try to vary the width of your line to suggest mass, illustrate depth, and accentuate movement. Watch the thickness of objects, you get kinda flat in places. Remember that everything has a width that can be suggested or outright shown, even something as thin as cloth. Those windows on the second floor of the building should be set into the wall a little bit, not to mention that alot of the stone detailing on your buildings (like under/above the windows and on the corners of the other building) should totally have thickness and weight. They're made of concrete, it's part of a giant structure. In the first page, your sidewalk actually has no side, it's like completely level with the street. Think of everything in your world as existing in real space. Feel around the object as you sketch it out, and try constructing complex objects out of simple 3-dimensional shapes to make considering their form easier. You could check out Lysol-jones' stuff. You guys have way different styles, but he's a great artist to show how strong it can make your art to keep the width of everything in mind. Also, this is a tiny thing, but I think I'd colourize your text too, just so it fits in with the bubble better. It's a great comic dude, it's so wonderful to see someone just bust in here like it ain't not thing, laying down comic gold. It's alot harder/rarer than you think. You're colour choices are like fearless. You use such different colours in such a natural way, and without limiting your pallette. I always have to stick to simple combinations to keep everything looking okay, but you make it look easy. It's such a polished work, and you've only just shown up. I can't wait to see what you turn out!

This still has plenty of voting time but I wanted to reply to some of these since there's a couple of questions! (Also thanks for commenting, guys, this stuff is super helpful c:) About her hair; Since she wasn't actually fighting anyone, her hair stayed solid. She changes it to gas during fights so her opponent can't just use her long ponytail like a handle to grab and toss her around! The thing in her purse; That's actually her costume! She turns it and her own clothes to vapor to quickly swap them out. This would have been more apparent if I had give the transformation its own page and showed the whole process but I felt that would mess up the pacing since she's in a hurry. But looking at it, I see it's vague so I'll make sure to show more about parts that are complicated like that if it ever comes up in future battles! As for the rest of what was mentioned, I'll definitely be looking into all of that to make it look more interesting overall and keep anymore floaty characters from happening. lD Thanks again!

You know what's really great about this work here? Everything is very clear. You have a very good sense of what you're trying to convey to your audience and it's working perfectly. The pacing/storytelling aspect is reading off very well. Nice work. I agree with the previous commenters about some more interesting angles needing to make some appearances, but overall good stuff. I didn't have to read her sheet to know exactly what her powers and personality were like, and you did it all in three pages. Well played. Now get out there and knock someone's block off!

I really like her design and this was a cute comic with a good little twist at the end - but you could make the shots way more dynamic and visually interesting.

Hooray! A realized comic and a successful intro in one swift and short amount of time! This is how incubator submissions should go- good on ya! Heeey, I thought you said her hair goes gassy during conflict. Them's some solid tresses right 'cheah! Seriously though, I really liked this intro. It really sets the tone for the type of city she's coming into when her rescue turns out to be an arrest-very clever! Your coloring is basic, but has a Saturday morning cartoon charm to it which I personally enjoy. I know things like your askew panels and black word bubble tails are a stylistic choice and some may not enjoy them, but I think they're growing on me! I really dug her transformation scene- very sailor moon. I'm not sure what she's pulling out of her purse- is it that purple gas? Is it a purple blanket? If you're going the magical girl route, why not make it a fancy little lamp charm she has to rub to transform into her genie self? I would second Tofu's suggestion regarding how to place your characters in the scene. I could be wrong, but based on what I see here, it looks like you draw your figures then place the background around them-which makes them look like they're sorta floating in some panels. Other than that, I commend you for such speedy work! Welcome aboard!

Welcome to void! Your comics are really colorful, and magical girls are always awesome! I think you've got a decent grasp of paneling. but sometimes it's hard to follow the action because your panels are spaced almost exactly the same width apart and are almost all the same size. The direction the characters are moving in each panel also leads the readers' eyes--in the first page I noticed you have Genie facing to the left, but the middle panel where she's running to the right catches the eye first. Readers are more likely to read the top panels of the first page, then skip over the panel where she's reacting to the guy falling out the window, just because the panel where she's running to the right is following the natural progression of the action in the top three panels before it. Speaking as someone who also has a super cartoony style, it's never a bad idea to brush up on your anatomy and poses, just so that your characters look that much more solid. Sometimes your characters look like they're not quite standing in/on the background, or like they're tilting to one side. I suggest studying up on gesture drawing (ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3QzApLXI4I) in order to help you with that, or using reference photos/yourself. Once again, welcome! I've been busy lately but I'd love to fight you!
