wutata: I consider this a default, so I have nothing more to say other than "finish next time" Betito: Your pacing suffers from the lack of establishing shots. the panels are always moneyshots or closeups so it makes it hard to tell where everything is in relation to everything else. I want to see what else is there in the different dimensions (landscapes etc) and i want you to actually show that cecilia is in a new place, instead of simply (and cleverly) implying it with the style change.

wutata: To briefly reiterate on my critique in the Voidcast, I always feel like I'm missing some crucial piece of information in order to understand what's going on in Cecilia's comics. I know you've got big plans for Cecilia's story in the works, but as a reader I can't really follow these vague plot points your bringing up because I don't know what's in your head. You have to go into this assuming that your audience knows nothing; from there, give them the information they need in order to understand what's going on. What is Beta doing in that bar? What is Cecilia doing in that bar? Who is talking in page 2, and what does that have to do with what was happening in page 1? What's the deal with the bottle of dye? It helps to be able to show your script to someone and ask if it flows correctly and makes sense to someone who has no idea what to expect. betito: This is actually the first comic I've seen from you that had watercolors and I have to say, they look really really good. I'm glad to see you branching out and trying new things, and the style-shift in the middle of the comic was a very pleasant surprise. I guess if I had to critique anything in this comic, it would be your fight scenes; I feel like the panels you've chosen to draw aren't conveying the action clearly enough, and that some wider shots would give you room to really belt out some cool action poses that communicate the action well. All in all this was a very pleasant read.

Wutatatatatata - That sucks man. I know sometimes I sit there drawing and all I feel is crushed and awful, and it's just the worst drawing through it. Just keep drawing dude. Even if you make something that looks like garbage, completing something always feels good. And by the time you're done you'll be better. Even here I can tell you're better. That cityscape on page 2 is amazing, you were obviously really pushing yourself. Not only is it stronger and more detailed than any background I've seen you do, but it's a town with it's own personality and character. You should feel proud dude, keep working it! Betito - Ahhhhh hell yeah watercolours! I love how you used them too, I'm way too timid with my watercolours to use the whiteness of the paper that well, it looks great! Gorgeous stuff, and I love the shifting styles, you pulled each one off so well. I wish you'd use your killer art to draw some backgrounds too though, there's no way you can't do great environments with art that strong. Not having backgrounds also makes the sense of space in your comics kind of ill-defined, and it doesn't help that often the wash in the back is way too close in tone and value to the stuff in the foreground. If you absolutely have to use a wash in the background, it needs to be less saturated, and the brushstrokes less visible. Try wetting the area a little first then going in with your paint. It's an amazingly polished comic for the situation. You're totally going on my very very short list of "Dudes Who Can Actually Handle Two Fights At Once".

Quick notes: Wutata - Be careful not to break the 180degree rule. Your camera shall not rotate more than 180 degrees around a scene, especially in one with 2 or more characters. Doing so will make em seem as if they switched places and disorientate the reader. Other than that, keep at it, bro. Betito - Pretty sweet stuff. Just try not to rush the plot along too fast and, more importantly, try and work on the flow between panels. There are transitions between panels that I felt were too big a jump in scene from the previous, resulting in the two scenes not linking very well between each other.

Wutata - aww dang, well, sucks you didn't get to finish. I know it's hard to work on comics sometimes, especially when you've got other stuff going on... but, you've just got to force yourself to sit down and get a little done each day. Try to set goals for yourself along the way, like "have all inks done by this date, etc." Hoping for better next time! Betito - I really liked this, I thought it was adorable. I thought the colors were great, and the changing styles were really cool. But, what's with the text bubbles? Those look pixelated and really take away from your art. I'm not really sure what happened there... what program did you use to make those? Maybe someone has some advice on how to do those in a better way. The only other nit-picky kind of thing I wanted to mention was just cleaning things up a bit. It's pretty easy to go into photoshop and just clean up the borders to make things crisp and clean. But overall I thought this was pretty good! Probably my favorite from you so far.

Wutty if masterpieces took one battle to develop then some of us here would have left a long time ago. Surely you can't just accept that you're just "trying hard" will be enough. Sometimes the idea of biting down and getting better or enoying a battle maybe two different motivations. Because as far as I can see, you CAN make a comic but now you must enter the stages of making a comic WELL. A good way of doing this is looking at your opponnent and finding out what they did to pull it off. And then figure out how they learned to pull it off. And then most importantly, doing it yourself. Betito, your side was a fun and seamless read. You hooked me with the first two color pages and now I'm totally buying into your visual style[s]. I especially liked the art style changing with every dimension shift. For some reason though it read a little too fast and when that happens pages tend to zoom by rather quickly. DOn't be afraid to write a little more for a 12 page comic !

Uploaded. This comic clearly represents how much effort I could muster during the last month - all the while when other people going through same stuff pull off masterpieces.

I'm not going to finish my side... For whatever reasons, I've been going through some random shit again and haven't been able to mentally focus on drawing. I will submit whatever I have done. I'm so sorry Betito. I even extended the match to give myself time to finish...
