Oh wow, I remember when The Horizon Foundation was first going to become a thing. I was like "That's pretty neat". Then I got hella bizzeh and didn't follow up... until now!
I really dug this. I like the Horizon Foundation's scheme and I like the way you executed. And there were some whopper setpieces in there, real feast for the eyes.
Btw, kudos to whomever wrote Starker in this. Got his personality bang on, I got a kick outta it.
Just some thoughts...but it end up with out characters choosing districts to live in, have insane scandals, and then suddenly turning out into the biggest three way battle Void has ever had in history?
Maybe someone needs to create a void character for the sake of transporting people from district to district :P
Logic would be like the most dangerous arma threat ever, she'd crush us all under the weight of our own ridiculous backstories.
I think the comic as a whole could use more black, because the places where you really get in there with those shadows look totally great. The balance of white-to-black varies like crazy, and sometimes even on the same page. Like I would've really love to see more black in the backgrounds of Zetsubou's pages. It's like you have these super strong, confident, imposing cityscapes, and then the second you bring the camera in they get sort of loose and wispy. The contrast is killing me.
Also, I'm really not digging the brush effects on the first page. I don't think it's a great effect in the first place, and I think it takes away from how clean and strong the rest of the page is. Especially when you use it to hide the background in the second panel.
Besides that, awesome comic guys! It's always exciting to see all the plot characters building a larger narrative together, even if I'm not going to get involved. I can't wait wait to see what you guys do next!
Also Tiffany Dropkick's new design is so totally amazing, oh my god why is she like the best character ever.
[quote]The art is beautiful and the whole plot's execution is entertaining but I have very high contention with the logic of it all~
Logic, in Void City? What is logic?
For the record Tiffany has no idea what "Caelum" means or cares, but whatever she's got a cool floating piece of territory along with whatever's left on the ground to grab.
PyrasTerran:
Wait,
So to escape the city of superpowered psychopaths, they placed a floating city directly above the city of superpowered (and now rich) psychopaths, then stick their tongues out at the superpowered psychopaths, saying that they're not invited to the high society treehouse?
Membership in Horizon requires a huge amount of cash, so they all have that covered, especially Veronica. Lady Vanity floated a whole district that I'll later show is 'protected' by people with magic powers (SHEN FYI: originally I was going to show Lilyfeather and Satin coming up with her on my first page, but ran out of space. You can choose to ignore that I put them up there just like we ignored Hiemie and Tinman putting all of the magic school on a bus, up to you) so we have the superpowers covered. Tiffany's got the psychopath bit down :P So they have definitely got things sorted, and the technology keeping the city up is nothing to sniff at.
So yeah, tongues out all the way :)
Glad people likd this!
that was awesome! such great work! lol so you guys are just gonna chill in Sky City now? thats gonna make it hard for the Voiders who work in those districts to commute to work... and how will Lily and Satin get to school? still, awesome story, awesome art, great effects as always, can't wait to see where things go from here!
I don't even know how to critique this. It was beautifully done, and I'm excited for more in this plot! (Kinda makes me wish I didn't put two of my characters into SLAW already hahah)

Massive props to Kura, this is his baby and I'm pretty sure he died a few times over it, resurrected only by sheer determination to get it done. The original idea and pretty much 90% of the script and original thumbs of this comic came from him, so most credit goes that way. I'm still really stoked about how this thing looks overall, really happy to be a part of it.
