you guys have such lovely lines, I'm quite jealous! bit lacking in backgrounds, but great action scenes!

i guess i did get a little carried away with the action lines. ill keep that in mind for the next match.

Kura: I thought your use of greys was nice but I agree that the lack of backgrounds really hurts when trying to set up your action scenes. You might even consider using parts of the background IN your action in the future to give a sense of place, like having Veronica backflip up ONTO a table, ect.The action lines are nice but I think they are getting a bit overdone as we get to the center of the comic. Sometimes let the poses speak for themselves perhaps with action lines on the side instead of using lines to show where she was and is now as it got a bit visually confusing because of so many lines. To me anyway. But each time you submit something I think it is better than the last. Nice work! Otaku, I enjoyed your round as well but I wish that the greys had been throughout rather than just at the beginning. They look so nice it's like dangling candy to the audience. Really compliments your line work though. I think I'd like to see you pull through with a full comic of greys. ( Not that I'm one to talk I can't seem to get that far myself, hah hah.) I like how you use your opponent's fan in so many different compositional ways. It works. The explosion I agree didn't really read as an explosion. You might need to "pull out" more to show the scale of the explosion rather than a close up, and then the finish.

Kura X: Your backgrounds leave something to be desired, but your overall quality was quite good. I liked the pacing of the story and the line quality and shading was spot on. Otakutaylor: My biggest issue was that the explosion didn't really read as an explosion. Still, you have good lines, and what was shaded looked nice as well.
