SOO AWESOME DUDES! DJ, awesome style and design! exciting take on the tourney, loved the prizes and points concept.. story lost me in parts but I think I got it overall..great limited color palette and awesome layouts! Puzzle, incredible Trad skills!! One of the most interesting takes on story I've seen, quite a good read, lingered abit too long on marigold feeling sorry for herself, but your writing is quite thought provoking, nice work. I feel the font is a little jarring for the style somehow..it stood out to me, perhaps a more elegant script style font, yet readable.not sure, but anyway excited to read more!

Considering my black ink bias its no surprise but it did affect how i enjoyed the comic. Thanks Monday. I think after SDT and current comic I'm working on I'll make a thread in Go For Broke, because I most def need some more critique on the aesthetic choices I'm making, since I think I've mixed varying levels of realism vs stylism in every comic I've done. The story was very sweet and I liked their interaction at the end as they bonded over the headstone. But I really disliked that you left the rough pencils present under the inks and washes. It totally slaughtered your presentation. I would also watch the pacing in some areas. Like page 12 didn't even have to take place, I would have just stuck with the nice background scenes you had on page 11. That page alone makes it clear that the characters are traveling. Haha I'll try dude, you guys are all awesome, and I really want to be a bigger part of the community. Or even a part, haha. I know what you mean about the pencils; they ended becoming this huge deal by the end. I didn't erase them as strongly as I could, because I thought I could just remove them in photoshop afterwards. I wanted them around to help inform the washes, and because erasing them vigorously kills some of the darkness in the india ink. However, I could really deal with both of those things, because I found out it was impossible to get rid of the lines in a way I felt okay with. The orange I use is non-photo, so I could just desaturate the page, or use an adjustment mask to kill that color. But when I took the page into photoshop, I realized sumi ink is a ridiculously complex black, and I hated the way the page looked if I tried either of those methods. It pulled alot of the life out of the wash. If you have some miracle method to help me get rid of the lines, I would be all over it. I'm just going to try erasing really really hard next time otherwise :( I intended for a slow pace, to sort of mirror the lazy, listless feeling Marigold is supposed to be feeling, but I think I must've made it too slow. Page 12 actually got brought to my attention before I put it up. The guy who was proofreading my comic said it was really boring and unnecessary, but I was too in love with the idea of the page as a transition between dark gutters and light gutters. I should have just merged that idea with the background scenes on 11, because of course a page is going to suck if the only thing important about it is the gutters. Thanks so much for the crits guys, everytime I see a new comment on the fight it's like getting a puppy for christmas!

neko, Really love the style and energy, plot made sense and it was an easy read. Not a ton of depth and seems a little rushed/lacking, but I still really enjoyed it. And also there's zombies which is A+ puzzle, Great art, real nice quality considering the deadline. Nekooo Sweet use of red/pink. Really felt like a game. I like the sketchiness too. Not sure what happens in the end though. So far i'm liking Beatrix :D Puzzller I love the 2 walking scenes you got in there. The dirty paper and dead, gray-ish colour gave me the chills. Marigold really seemed...well...dead. Cool sentimental/comedic ending too. Perfect match up character wise. i wish this was longer!

OHHHHH MAAAAAAAAAAAN! That was completely awesome DJ, I love your line quality. So fluid and confident. It makes me wish I wasn't working on such a heavy toothed paper for this. It's really funny seeing how different we write eachothers characters, having only the design to go off to make up a personality. I wish I had noticed that Beatrix wears shades though, they're super cool.
