The main character isn't the Death King. There will be more BG elements in the finished panels and part 2 will give more of a glimpse into a part of the world outside of the prison. There is a flashback panel here that wasn't finished either that shows briefly the silhouette of the Death King in the distance (hint: he is massive). I do plan on showing more of the world :). Sweet work so far dude! really nice looking inks here and there, 1st page has a great estab. shot that really draws you in...I think the other pages needed much more in terms of scenery establishment. Perhaps map out the buildings/world where this is taking place would help? Anyway, i'm excited to see the Death King, assuming the main char. isn't the death king.

Fair enough, I can see the crit where large panels are concerned. Personally I intentionally set the pacing out this way, I knew it'd be a bit wordy to start. A lot of it also came from not having a 100% clear idea of where to start but then I got one shortly after. The second half should cater a lot more to the action-centric side of things. Also yeah there were no threats left in that chamber haha, Dmitri even jokes about it because it wasn't very well guarded and he manages to just pop their eyes out and kill them, that perhaps the King was banking on the fact that she wouldn't be found.

Great lines, when they're finished! :) I think this comic has the same issue that your Vs. Andre comic had in the beginning, except more drastic; The set up in this place is too lengthy/too wordy. I'm gonna assume that there were no more threats left in whatever prison they're in since they spent so much time standing in front of her cell and talking XD Alot of their dialogue could have been done while they were on the move, and it would have made the scenery more interesting (not that it's not a pretty place to begin with, but it's just one spot the entire comic). In the same amount of pages you probably could have actually gotten to Jackie if pages 5-10 got compressed in some fashion. I think to be more clear, we have these massive, gorgeous panels that'll look amazing when finished, but there's so many of these large panels that the pacing is suffering because of it. These giant panels would be fine if this were say a videogame, where the cutscenes are a slideshow of images with voice-acting.

Didn't quite get nearly as far as I wanted this time around but I hope you guys dig what I do have. Gonna keep chipping away at it.

So this first round is just the first half of the comic and the next round will be the second half. So if the story is fragmented at all by anybody, that would be why.
