Oh my GOD!!!! both works were sick! you guys rocked it, but I have to say, Orange your story was sweet (Loved the ending).

fantastic. just wonderful on both. I like the color and the texture Rofl, the darkness doesn't bug me at all. the color choices are esp stiking in some panels. the electric blue on in contrast to the others is Awesome. Orange Love the splash page 8 Too Cool. Great great all around around. I'm new here so not knowing the characters is not a turn off for me i only know 3 of four of the characters here anyway.

Angie: Yeah, color is a weakness I'm trying to wrangle in. Thanks for the links, I'll be sure to study that on my little break this week. And you're right, I definitely want something that looks old. If I could bottle up the coloring style from old comics I would definitely pull them out. To everyone else, really glad you're liking the comic and narrative here, hopefully if I move on to the next round you all won't be disappointed. I will definitely work on my texture and colors for the next round.

Rofl-I'm happy with where you're taking Andre, it looks like you're finally having some fun with him which makes it all the more enjoyable for the reader. I'm also happy you have continued to deliver, I hope you keep this up. You're still having a lot of issues with your coloring being too dark and the texture isn't helping it. To me it looks as though the texture itself is set on multiply on top of the colors so it's making everything a tone darker which is bad for darker scenes. It's normally easier to control if you put the texture on top of the colors set on soft light or overlay and then making tweaks to the hue/saturation/lightness/opacity to the texture layer. I had a hard time reading the first through pages because the dialogue wasn't paced very well, breaking those paragraphs into separate word bubbles would have really helped your readability. My not knowing the furry in the beginning didn't really impact my feelings on the comic. I feel like you make good color choices, you have a good eye for color. But you're not as strong with making believable lighting. In the last half of the battle I couldn't really tell where the lighting was really coming from. Like on page 8 I understand that both characters have glowy power stuff altering the lighting situation. It was clear that Luna was glowing since she made the objects around her look as though she was casting lighting on them. But then there's that piece of debris right below her where she's casting a dramatic shadow which didn't really make sense since it looked as though she was lighting everything around her. Just continue to work on stuff like that. I found both comics enjoyable, there are just mostly things in the coloring that would have bumped these up to a whole new level.

Mainly because I gave no reason for anyone to care, I agree. I also have not posted that character on the forums I think, I can't remember. Nobody knows anything about that character, and even if they looked at the reference image (which I think I have on my DA) the bio isn't even on there haha. It was an oversight on my part, and rather was something I threw in because of an idea RoflQu had started that a bunch of us were gonna jump in on, which actually relates to Andre (though I admit I am not entirely 100% sure how either, I just know that The Outfit and Andre have a connection). Like I said, I think only RoflQu and I kind of had any idea about 90% of what was going on in the pages that had that character in them and it was a pretty big mistake I made from the comments I got so far. I've been getting more comments along the lines of 'would have liked to know more/who is that' then 'i hate them make them go away'. So I think had I given people a bit more of an idea of who it was, it would have been okay. Ah well, maybe next time.

Wolcik: lotsa superheroes seeking redemption in Void City.. (Awesome, Andre, Arena, etc.) ((that sounds like a sweet crossover to me)) Roflqu: Sweet Itch sold me into joining Void and Andre has sold me into staying. So much about this comic is perfect to me. But my problem is with the climax; like others, I got confused as to whether Andre was flying away from or towards Luna, and it took me out of the story. If he had sapped her and is leaving, why leave her there? She could still technically be a threat given she's already in the reactor area. OrangeJax: fantastic story as well with a gripping ending. My problem is the opposite with you however: it's the introduction I had a problem with. I'm not entirely familiar with your furry character, but her presence and extended expositionary dialogue with Andre dragged for me. That scene could have been one or two pages shorter. I love both comics so much I can't decide whose is better. This is my favorite match of the tournament so far.

Orange. Honestly I like your coloring a lot. It would look different in greyscale, but not necessarily better in my opinion, but it's just my opinion. In color it maintains the neon, futurey Mega Man quality I like about your art. There were certainly some issues here, but I know it was getting rushed and I'm amazed to hear you were able to crank out eight of these pages in an afternoon. While the ending was maybe slightly weird I really liked the way Andre looked as that things host. ROFLQU. I liked your coloring a lot. There were some spots where the art took a bit of a dip. Other than the writing the last page was a bit of a let down. The silhouettes should have been more defined. I couldn't really tell if Andre was flying away from Luna or kicking towards her. Also the first page was too big, I couldn't appreciate the layout or the overall impact of the page because I had to scroll around to see it. Still it was a great comic, I really enjoyed it.

Totally different coloring styles but both very well done! Pacing was on point to me. Rof gets the nod for his emotive sequencing. Orange gets the nod on the swerve ending!

Wol- If I move on I'll conclude it all, if not then I wouldn't expect a conclusion any time soon as I probably won't have very many battles with Luna after this tournament is over, if any at all haha. One is time, two is I've been reworking the story to restart it and do it off-site as my own personal project. One I can take my time with to make it good (even though I doubt I am ready for doing my own shit). I'll probably just make a new character soon for shits and giggles sometime. The ending though to this comic is weird, but mainly that is due to the fact that I cut out 5 pages from my comic due to time issues. 1 page before the tower is destroyed which has Luna and Andre interact a bit more, and then one page during the fight scene which I cut, and then I had cut a page out before Andre tries to take Luna's power - and then two afterwards which would have given the ending a better feel. I thought I could handle much more than I actually could. Also I am not Lune haha. Del - Thanks! I should have maybe made it grayscale, it'd have probably looked better you're right. Thanks!

Two mysterious heroes going through some rough stuff. Orange: Seeing this fox furry made me want to make MrAwesome more pro VCPD, as it turns out furries grind me. It was nice to see Oinko turn out to be fine and it also is a credit to him when last round you didn't explain this shit. I can feel by the finally of this story that shit turned out of control like in your final moon battle - and to be honest I don't feel a conclusion along the way since you don't have time right now. It was all really nice exepct that "something evil" hosted in Andre and its a weird ending. RoflQu: You bastard! You writte andre in drama way I would like to do Awesome, but that gave me idea - what if they were to meet again and we both wanted to do that kind of redemtion stuff - you write it much better, and your mystery is somewhat more interesting cause unlike bob it's Andre that has a mystery (that he tries to hide instead of not remembering) instead of secret past. I think that terrorising the city himself Bob wins the drama reason in comparison to "I didn't stop one bomb", but then with your writting I'd be crashed, so I leave the redemption for you. Thanks RoflQu, thanks to your superior writting skills I decided to the patch of maddness, cheap sex and voilance. Thank you!

Rofl: Wonderful narrative. You are a great character writer and I really enjoy that. C: I felt your texture was a bit too heavy, could have lightened the opacity a bit or chosen a less grainy texture overlay. Overall your comic was nice, though. Easy to read, nice colors, solid story arc. Good job! Jax: I think your comic would have benefited from having no color at all, to be honest! Just some grayscaling or toning would have done the lines far more justice than a rush color job. Still, the action is ace and I had a lot of fun reading this one. Would have been nice to know more about the masked character at the beginning, and also what the hell is going on with the evil thing slicing up poor Luna. I suppose that's something we'd learn more about in the future though. Also well done. :)

Jax: Nice job on the colors. Easy to tell which pages were rushed, sadly, but that's how shit goes down when you don't have a lot of time. You said it yourself, page 8 is bad-fucking-ass! I will say this, however. I thought the intro went by slowly. It was hard to jump into it, because it was so text heavy, but didn't have any jumping off point for us to be compelled and excited to read it all. It picked up nicely after that, though. Rofl: Man, the texture, inks and colors fit together very nicely. I think you need to work on your contrast a bit more, though. It'll really help your art shine. For both of you: I'm sad both of the endings were super abrupt. Dudes, I told you before, AND YOU DIDN'T LISTEN! Quality of quantity, duderionos. Look at what you did here. LOOK AT IT. Now cut your page counts in half, AND THINK OF THE QUALITY THEY COULD HAVE BEEN THEN!

Thanks dude, unfortunately the ending had gotten extremely cut. In the original ending I did have, everything took a lot longer to happen. There was still another page before Andre was fully consumed, as well as the motivation/as for why all that stuff happened explained. I ended up running out of time haha. I definitely should have introduced Jay (the character at the start), that one I kinda dropped the ball on. I'll try and do more character centric comics in the future, it would be nice if I could manage to do a battle without having to contend with school to do it since I usually build up plots in my head and then totally run out of time. I try to do too much even though I know I've got too much on my plate as it is. I gotta remember my limits and do it across more comics I guess rather than to try and condense it all into one single entry. Thanks for the advice man!

Rofl: Fuck man, really wanted to see this a little more finished. Writing was great, super compelling, I really like Andre's character as his personal narrative is really strong. The coloring style you used here along with the really strong inks was fucking excellent. Action was also super solid, which is something you've had trouble with in the past, but you're definitely shaping up really well on that front. I definitely think you could have cut back on the intro a little more. You tend to over-plot yourself a bit and learning how to cut corners when you can would really do you well. Orange: Nice stuff man. I am pretty amazed at your ability to crank out fully colored comics in such a short period of time. Andre looked a little bit wonky here, and watch your perspective, but otherwise, very fucking solid. Really like the glow effects you've got going on. Also, the pacing was very nice between intro and fight, which is something a ton of artists, including myself, often struggle with. Luna's character seemed a little more developed here so that was nice, good callback to Andre's past. I do have issues with the setup and resolution of the fight though, namely we are never really introduced to the masked furry character at the beginning, and not really sure what the evil power is possessing andre at the end unless we've read a lot of Luna's backstory. I'd really like to see more plot or character centric comics out of you, you seem to do fights pretty well, but there's not much character development at all.

I had to cut my comic down from 20 pages to whatever I have there, and some pages got more love than others unfortunately. You can tell which ones did! Kinda makes me sad because there were quite a few pages that looked way cooler when I was thinking of them. At the very least page 8 came out better than I could have hoped for even though it was one of the 13 I coloured today haha. School got in the way like a real badass.
