Yardbirds, it is pretty messy, I know that's the style, but you can still be messy with anatomy and stuff and it come out a bit cleaner. Um... for some reason I always thought prince lepus was a chick. the shape of his face is very effeminate and his body type is very neutral. At the end of the story all I thought was, "ok, did she get bigger tits or something?" I just would have like a bit more clarity but I don't know if that would have worked in your style. Overall it was fun. Kon, yeah, I wish you would have finished and it was a bit messy. I would focus on making things clearer, I would encourage you to have someone else look over your thumbnails before you start your pencils. Also try to leave more room for word balloons. It read fairly easy though, and was enjoyable.

Ah females and poison... Anyways, yeah Kon, your action is a bit messy. Like I can figure out what's going on but it's a bit jarring and the pace is a little ruined. I see some good ideas there and I think the quirkiness of his fighting style adds to the character's charm but you need more separation between what's going on and to somehow make it clearer. MY suggestion would be more definite blacks and better panelling. I feel like yardbirds suffered from this problem as well. Though it's only one page, the action lacks any sort of dynamic storytelling. Otherwise Prince Lepus is a pretty fun read.

Yardbirds: yisssss sweet ... Critique time... Kon: Sometimes I wonder. You have loads of potential I really dig your style but it never really gets finished to me. I've read through a lot of your earlier battles and they seem to have more thought about how the art and story mesh together...you are progressively getting either more distracted, lazier, or worse. There's not much to comment on here considering I've seen you produce higher quality work. YB: Good go of it. I don't think this is as strong as BB. There was some interesting paneling and the general design reminds me a lot of Winsor McKay (if you don't know him check him out) your paneling and pacing is strong, the panels seem really crowded on thee inside though. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, that's kind of why you remind me of Winsor McKay, I would say though to open up page for dialogue, the bubbles should definitely have breathing room. Your drawing style is novel and I think there is loads of potential with it. Just keep refining and refining (duh!) The Brahma, or Shiva, or Kali, or Laxmi or whoever the Hindu deity for the cover was off putting. I have no problem with the cover other than that it has nothing to do with the comic and the art style is so different that contrasts poorly with the rest of the comic. good go of it YB my vote goes to you..

Submitted last night. I didn't get as much time as I wanted to spend on this in terms of color and style, but I think I came out okay. Kon, thanks for the kind words of encouragement, I hope to see what you have done as well!

Okay, submitted. I was a bit lazy and thought I had more time than that, I'm really disappointed of myself because of the content of my comic, I was supposed to do two more pages but I hadn't even sketched them yet. I hope I won't win this since Lepus is one of the artist I like a lot on VOID. Can't wait to see what you've done!
