Soulless_sanctuary-This was very ambitious for a first fight, it's not often people go in with so many pages and some vets can't finish something with this kind of page count. So kudos to you for being able to finish something this long! Now this actually did look like a step up from your intro pages which is always nice to see. Now I do think it may help you to go with less pages on the next battle so you can focus on making your lineart tighter. It never hurts to take baby steps before you take the plunge into longer battles. I do agree that you relied on the textures a little too much. With textures it's best to let them help your colors, speaking from experience, it's best not to let them totally overpower your work. Try putting the texture layers on soft light or overlay and lowering the opacity some. Now the story wasn't insanely original but it was entertaining. Try to avoid using premade speedlines since they will almost always stick out, it's best to either try to do them by hand or try to make them yourself in Photoshop. (the results may vary with Photoshop) Other than that, it was a pretty good first battle, just take it slow next time! dragon-dan-It's a shame you weren't able to finish this as these were some of the best backgrounds I've seen from you and you're improving all the time. Just be careful with your humans, their anatomy was looking pretty off.

S_S what a page count!! Always a pleasure to see someone else draw the Stranger, you made it much more svelt than usual, looks cool. I know that feeling of seeing your flaws in background etc. and just havingt to press on. Also, if you have a solid idea of what Hanon's weapon summoning looks like, you should include it in the desogn sheet, because i was basically guessing when I wrote this, and I happen to be a FMA fan so I see how that look snuck in to it. @ everyone: thanks for kind words, I'm happy with the visible improvement from my last battle. Line variation is still beating me, it's hard to pick betweeen brush pens and fine liners.

Damnit Dan, I might have to work that poster into my eventual \"Escape from Leviathorah\" Beyond Battle. That was just too funny. Also, that glass smashing panel is rad. Sanctuary: Gotta say, I was a little enh on this. The textures did get to me a little, as did the poor grammar. I can excuse slightly iffy writing in environments such as VOID a little more than I can elsewhere (because this place is mostly just artists flexing their muscles, and not everyone who can draw can write. Trust me, I've grown up with enough dyslexic, fantastic artists in my life to understand that not everyone has a fantastic grasp on grammar), but it still irks me a little. And while I was sortof impressed with your page count, I didn't really think that enough happened in it to justify the length. But, this is the first fight, so I can't really call that a fault because, well, you need to do a little intro which are generally vaguely boring, and because you haven't hit your pacing stride yet. That's cool. All in all, I think it was solid, there were just some first-timey type, excusable things that got on my nerves a little. Good show.

@soulless_sanctuary: I felt that this was a really great first battle :D the story was pretty entertaining and the art was nice too. I'd really suggest working on your ink work some more make it more cleaner and less shaky/sketchy. As others have mentioned the textures were a bit distracting; I think if you laid off the line tool a bit and added some more details to your backgrounds, it would help you out some. Anyways this waas a nice first battle from you and I really enjoyed it, can't wait to see more :D oh, and also thank you for the cameo of Eden and Seak :3 @Dragon-Dan: what you had so far was looking alright, you could still use a bit of work on anatomy and your line widths. Too bad you couldn't finish. Better luck next time, dude!

Soul - I enjoyed this, though the story could be considered 'stereotypical' it was well written and amusing. I would suggest the same as everyone else here to spend a little more time on anatomy and less on the textures. The backgrounds could use a little help but outside of that it was amusing. Stranger Though incomplete I did enjoy it. Your bodies could use a little more form, they came off just a little too two dimensional like cardboard cut outs. Besides that I love the genuine ink style and the soft grays. I am sad you didn't finish it!!

Chia- Hui's first cameo! Sweet. Soul-I was really impressed it was finished, in full color, in 3 weeks and 14 pages? Dang! For a first battle it was above my expectations from you. The fact that the buildings were just boxes, and that the perspective was a little off on them actually didn't bother me that bad... it was the textures that I hated! They made the fact the buildings were just boxes, and that the perspective was off really stand out. And just threw off everything in the rest of the art. Keep it up with the backgrounds (even if they are just simple) but lose the textures, and it'll look 10 times better. Dragon-This actually was looking like it was gonna be your best fight... actually, even half done, I think it is. Your art looks to be getting better every battle and I actually look forward to your matches (there's something about your character, and your writing I really dig). So, maybe fight more often, and finish stuff. (but you already knew that)

Soulless, I enjoyed this. I would suggest you keep working on anatomy and perspective and remember that buildings aren't boxes. The plot was extremely typical, I would suggest getting story ispiration from something besides anime. Please. As for backgrounds it easiest just to google \"house\" or \"street\" and just copy what you see. Dan, um hope you had a fun Halloween.

Soulless: I liked the story, a good page count for 3 weeks, and I enjoy reading it, while the story was a bit of common place in shonen mangas, it was still ok. The art itself did it's job, but you need to practice a lot in the anatomical field, and in faces themselves, I feel you practice some kind of faces more than others, and just by the thumbs you can see they really differ in consistency. (also, perheps she's a bit too arm-buffed in some panels). The textures really hit my eyes, I think, they were a bit raw, maybe you should use them on lower opacity, or working together with some color, and also, try to get them in the same perspective of the background it's added to in first place. Dragon-Dan: In addition to my post below, haha (jk), I really like the way you draw faces, but your bodies need improvements in the anatomcial field. I really liked the blacks in this one, and the panel where Stranger breaks the window is really detailed, I liked it. Next time, a finished comic yes?
