ok, so HELFTAN is the only comic I read - we were passing it around in the discord Voice Chat like 'bro, let me hit that blunt.' They said 'this is what level of crazy old-void was on' and I had trouble getting past the first couple of pages - because the art was so good. I told everyone "If you ever show me some of your art and ask me what I think and it didn't look like HELFTAN's battle royal comic, you know why I didn't respond." I then told everyone Void, like many cities in the past 10 years, has become gentrified - they didn't understand what I meant so I promised them a 3 page essay submitted by the end of today to explain.

Congrats on the win robert. Good job, man. I think everyone did a pretty good job. I don't really have any critiques to give out. Everyone has kinda pointed out everything I had to say. But it was a pleasure to have had all of you as my opponents and maybe we'll battle again some time.

Yeah, I plan to do a BB sometime and show a bit more of Eden's story as well as Seak. I'm actually gonna do my best to keep Eden and Seak out of battles until I get done with their BB. :p OH, about the grammar...um yeah, I didn't have much time so I didn't get to proof read....When this went up, I too noticed some grammar errors within the first 5 pages. XD....you have to love how I misspelled \"Royale\" on page 5 XD aaaaaaaaand I totally agree about how some of the other characters appearances were really random.You see.....I was a bit indecisive, I couldn't really decide what to do...originally I had a more serious-type of story going on with a much different ending.....BUT THEN.. I'm like \"Aww man, this is just way too corny and it would be too difficult too pull off....let's throw the original script out the window and go on a whim, that should work out well :D\"...LOL WRONG XD so yeah I hadn't planed things out to well after page...19 (I think). thanks for all the feedback guys! Anya and Robert had the best entries by far. Head and shoulder above everyone else. In fact, reading Anya's first made most of the other entries seem pathetic in comparison. Mize was a distant 3rd but still very solid (and thank you mize for that Eden half nude!) Man, it took forever to read all those. hehe.

Kuro: I thought yours was the most entertaining aswell as the best looking entry. That you had half of it being just text with a few pictures didnt bother me at all. Infact i quite liked it. Helftan: Sick, twisted, disturbing... I loved it :) Airlight: Great coloring, pretty good inking, but work on your stories abit more.

I didn't read all of the comments so I'm sorry if I repeat anything. dimension: I liked the parts with Eden and the witch the best, because you are going into Eden's story and it's kinda piqued my interest in her character. I do hope you continue with that in your next battle :o I've been feeling like Eden's kind of unfocused, like she's just been wandering around the city for SOME reason but you don't know what it is. I dunno. All of the BR characters coming together and fighting was totally random, which could have been funny but I think the executiion of that whole part was lacking. It's like it would have been a good joke, but the timing was off. I'm not sure why, though. I disagree that it should have been shorter; I think it was appropriate for the story, and you obviously handled the length pretty well with only a few pages unfinished. That's pretty impressive :3 PS: I noticed that there were a lot of typos :I I feel like I'm nitpicking, but it did get a bit distracting. dure: I thought Rob was a little OOC; I never pegged him for the kind of guy who would make a girl go out with him. That seems too jerk-ish for a nice guy like Rob. Your art was super nice. The backgrounds were very generic, though. The story was good and I liked how you worked all of the characters into it. jong: Slaughterface versus Claymore looked like it would have been really funny :3 Your colored pages look nice. pi: This started off pretty well, and I was getting into it. I agree with Mecid, but if you didn't want to gut the story, I think I would have preferred that you'd cut off some pages and just left it as TBC or somthing, and then just put more time into the pages you had, because around page 20 or something I stopped being able to follow the story. I'm also wondering if you'd benefit from working with smaller pages. Your drawings are pretty simple and it seems like it could work out for you. Also, I liked the fact that your Nova didn't try to rape somebody on the street. seriously, that can't be all he ever does. XD mamoru: It's funny to see Claymore all flying around limbless. I like your art here.

I'll try not to repeat a lot of what was said already. Sorry if I do. Dure- It was a pretty entry and complete. I can't say much regarding the story. I understood what was going on and some moments ( like with the demons) had their charms. Other then that it was ho-hum for me. Art wise you always do nice work though I sometimes find your line width a little lacking. I can understand what you were trying to do with the blacks but they sometimes made the background meld with the foreground visually. Helftan- Your comic was a fun read. Mostly because I wasn't expecting it at all. It was a nice change of pace compared to everything else here. I like the fact that they were arrested for no real reason and added to the whole chaos of the situation. While not an initial fan of your art its appropriate for this kind of story. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the word balloons constantly coming directly out of people's mouths. Once and a while's okay but all the time make it seem like everyone is talking creepy like that kid in 'The Shining'. Dimension- It's awesome the you finished and it's clear you put effort into it. But I really couldn't bring myself to stay focused or interested. I can't really put my finger as to what it is. It might be you need to change up the camera angles more in the panels. Or maybe I'm just not really into the character. Maybe you could try shaking things up with Eden by doing something you haven't done before. Like some crazy action comedy story or an introspective as to the how and why of Eden. Fowlie- I liked the idea and the execution was quick and easy read. It's a nice break from the large entries. I think I've gotten used to your style for the most part but sometimes your characters are hard to tell apart. Especially when in their gear. And the typical 'your backgrounds are messy' Airlight- I just thought I should let you know that your comic is so bright that I can't read it at work without being caught. It's similair to Fowlie in that it's short and to the point. It was fun and occasionally had those 'ooh pretty' moments for me. It was said before but you might want to start working on black and whites. It'll keep you from being too reliant on your backgrounds. I'd also like to see more interior shots from you. And not futuristic go go gadget here's a neon light interiors. Like a regular room with some tech flair. Kuro- Well it seemed like you had something awesome. I want to believe it was. So hard. From what you do have done, I would recommend watch the amount of narration/ speech balloons you put in a panel. From what I recall, it was kind of distracting and the character introduction page. It might have been better if used the larger panel as an establishing shot and then went into character descriptions in individual panels. Also Nowhere Boy handing out of a chopper with a gun in funny. Andrew- I don't know what you were going for but I hope it was a parody of Battle Royale in some way. Like you should have been making fun of people randomly fighting or the people who try to do something weird with the characters. At the same time, recalling the hype artwork you did kinda makes me think you can put more effort into it. Pi- Did you write this out first? Because I recall you saying you had 60 pages initially planned out. I think instead of doing half of the story you probably could have cut half the stuff you had out. Don't get me wrong. It sets mood and has nice point. I love to do that kinda stuff too. But there's a point where you have to go 'Alright, does this move the story along? Is it really important?'. I feel that if you had done that, you would have fit the whole story into the thirty pages. Jong- Reading your story felt like when I fall asleep during good movies. Ya know, you're watching the beginning and it's interesting but then the characters are talking and gradually you fall asleep. But then something happen and you wake up when something awesome happening. But then it slows down and you fall asleep again. And you half wake up, realized the movies still going but you'd rather sleep so you turn it off. Also this is the dumbest critique ever but everyone said what I wanted to say. So read theirs. Mize- It was alright. I'm kinda used to your wispy painterly style so it threw me off to see such brash cel shaded colors from you. The story was typical and I suppose would have been more interesting if you had finished. But as of now it's typical void fight. I will say I enjoyed the beginning of the diner scene but everything else was ho-hum as well.

Hahha man, I thought Anya would be the one being abused in all comics and was scared shitless, but it seems Eden got the worst of it. Anyhow, I generally don't crit fights I participate in >< but I guess something as big as BR can't go unanswered with some feedback. Helf - Man that was an amazing comic dude, given the later part was rather confusing and too several reads to understand, i can't but admire your commitment and your ability to crank out pages so insanely fast. I for one don't think the setting needed to be explained, as it was just an excuse to get all the characters in that situation, so if its say, just a convention that they will all be in jail, it works. But the one thing that irked me was how extremely out of character most of them were. I mean, it was almost as if you didn't use the BR chars. I feel you could've done a comic just as awesome as the one you did without compromising your story and still using the character's personalities, after all, a character is how it acts, not how it looks. Dimension - I gotta say, for someone who just got into void this year, you made an amazing effort, to finish a BR, almost completely in color and have a cohesive story while trying to respect all the character's personalities, its an achievement you should be proud of it. Though i do agree with some of the crits, my main thing with it is that the anatomy looked wonky at some points and some of the character's presence in the comic seemed a bit random. But hell, I did some of that too, I understand how hard it is to try to make a complete plot and still introduce 10 characters. Fowlie - Dude that was short and sweet, it had some of your usual problems, yeah, but also many of your usual strengths fow. The first panel in which slaughterface shows up skating is just the pinnacle of awesome. I would've liked some more exposition tho, not meaning an explanation as to why they're playing rollerball, just some more meat under all that pretty skin. Airlight - Your colors are as pretty, crazy and epilepsy inducing as always mate. But you really need to pace yourself, though I understand that real life burst into your BR time. My favorite points about your battle is probably the first half, each character was getting some time dedicated to them and the art was gorgeous, it kind of fell apart towards the end with some randomness in the appearances and the lowering of the art quality (gonna say the same as everyone else, try to do one or two comics using just clean, pretty lines, see how it goes, you might like it :D ) My main question with the entry tho, regarding the dreaded \"To be Continued\"... will it be continued? Since you said you were taking a break from void... I think its a great entry either way, but I also think it makes an actual difference whether the story will be concluded in a BB or its actually an incomplete. Kuro - Kuro, yer awesome at art, that's a given, also enjoyed the setting you lay out there very much. But I think the problem in this case was time managing, I don't know what happened, and why you couldn't finish, so I might be way off here, but, once you finished that first page, it must've given you a general idea of how long the whole thing was gonna take right? In any case it was enjoyable, it would've been amazing had it been finished. Andrew - Same as Kuro there, it started out great, but i think the problem was time, right? I guess the thing is just learning to manage our time better next time, that goes for all of us I think (mebbe not Helftan XD). Pi - Dude from what I got of your story, I think it was one of the best plotlines in the tourney, you integrated the characters well, stayed faithful to their personalities without compromising your plot. It sucked so much that you didn't get to finish, i would very much be looking forward to you finishing this sometime so we can see it complete. Jong - Man, if you had finished you would probably be at the top of this battle... and if everything had looked like that first page the world would've imploded from the awesome. This is one of the battles I wish i could see finished even after BR, who knows, it might be a good excercise :3 and god knows we wouldn't complain. Momoru - Man Nish, that was looking sweet, ok, it was a bit random as the whole appear! now fight! thing, but still, it kept me interested, as I was beggining to see the roots of a plot there. And I really wanted to see what Nova was gonna do with poor Anya XD. Along with Pi's and Jong's one of the entries I'd love to see finished sometime. I know yer a really busy man, but one can still hope rite? For one thing tho, you've got to teach me how to do poses and action as dynamic as yours >_< Unfortunately, last time I replied to crits on my side of a tourney battle I got flak for it >_< so I'll just wait a bit till voting is done. I just wanna say this was awesome, and this battle drained me body and soul, but I'd do it all over again. I tried my best and i think everyone else did so too, and it shows :D

Wow, Eden sure was involved in a lot of sexual situations XD @Dure: oh, you know I loved your entry….I thought the story was great and so was the quality. Air and Phill already pointed out how the story could have been more to the point in some areas, but yeah I still liked it anyways. I think perhaps, you could have added any slight bit of shading to each of the characters hair though; kind of seems like they all have the same color hair. Also the buildings in your backgrounds could have more variation. Other than that I think this was awesome. I really like your style and your inking was lookin’ hawt. I wished I had you skills maaaaaan~ @Helftan: I thought your entry was adorable and cute and it made me think of butterflies and rainbows :3.……NOT! Wow, man….Wow XD that sex scene…oh that sex scene O.O; I thought your comic had some nice quality, it was complete and consistent. The overuse of the numbers 666 I thought was pretty funny.…Well I actually thought your entry in general was pretty funny, but….really… nearly everyone seemed waaaaaaaay out of character. :0 Now I don’t think every character had to be spot on, but at least close. Also I’ve read your entry like 4 times and still don’t get what happens at the end (like the last 3 pages). I’m confused on a lot of things like… who’s that guy that wakes up in bed…was that claymore? I had a hard time telling which characters were which…I didn’t even know that that was Robert raping Loofy’s dead corpse on page 18 until I read it the second time.(again, way out of character o.o;) Oh, aaaand maybe an explanation as to why they all went to prison would have been nice too; it didn’t make much sense for characters like Loofy or Mize to go to prison since they are supposed to be good guys who help people. Maybe if they were prison guards it would have made more sense or just fit more. Anyways this was a pretty good entry form you. Quality wise, I think it’s your best so far, nicewater colors. @Fowlie: Great comic! Haha I rip a tentacle off of Nova, you rip two arms off of Eden XD But,I gotta say this is also one of those comics I felt could have had a bit more explanation to it. Liiiiike… why would all of those characters put their life on the line to play roller ball against the incredible Slaughterface? O.o. Now when it came to your art, I really liked your inks, they were also lookin’ great and I also like your style too. Some of the action, however still confused me, such as on page 7 the panel where Nova is getting punched. I had a hard time telling what was what. I thought your comic was a rather short but really fun to read. I’m impressed that you can pull off such a great comic in only 10 pages. @Air: Yoooo, your colors are always sweet and you know that. I think your line work is just pixely is all and maybe you could add some line work to your backgrounds too. I suggest in your spare time to just draw some comics that are b/w or at least try to limit your color palette. I felt that you did a really great job story wise, it was really entertaining to read; I know you were running out of time and had to cut the story short and make the rest of it a BB, but I still think it was pretty awesome. You have some really nice page layout dude. Impressive work! @Kuro: your art was looking fantastic man…really loved that monster thing on page 8. You have some real talent bro! Too bad you ran out of time, maybe in your next comic you’ll be able to do more. ;3 @Andrew: I know you kind of lost motivation for this, but your comic started off pretty nicely and I did laugh a lot XD You had some nice toning as well dude. Your entry was lookin’ reeeeeal nice :3 I really like how you drew Seak in your style and your cel shading was also pretty sweet. Gonna have to agree with the others, that you could work on the proportions of your faces a bit more; it sort of look like the characters have no skull underneath their skin sometimes. The insignificant tussle between me and Phil is done, Sixtem, we've settled it in private last night and we're cool now. Also thanks for feedback everyone. I won't pull the To be Continued shiz that people are raving about.... or something like that. I will take a little vacation from VOID since it's too difficult to improve immediately where I am weak, and just stab away at those points (inking, anatomy, and etc) from now on until I feel ready to jump in again. OKEY DOKEY. I am glad i don't have to vote on anyone's entries here, but I will post my feedback anyways. Dure, man that was great solid work in pretty much every aspect I can think of artwise and storywise. I really enjoyed it. Your inks are always so strong and clean and nifty it'll never be uncomfortable to look through your work. I think action could use sprucing up, though.. they tend to lack the dynamic that other stuff has.. and the occasional perspective error.. so maybe try to work on that a bit. Advancement in plot was a bit dragging, so you might want to work on being concise in a few spots as well. Otherwise I can't really complain 'cause you draw so well anyways. Am honored for the amount of spotlight Rob got here. Helf, Woah! You insane mofo! I loved it, even if it was searingly violent. It was some mighty impressive work and you've got incredible work ethic to plug away continuously at those pages. When you mentioned how many you got done in a day I was definitely taken aback. I've never seen aforementioned prison movies so I can't say anything about it but it was a cool concept. Your traditional work is pretty nice looking, too. The only thing you might want to work on is consistency with how the same character looks, as far as it going along with your style, though inconsistency is a little part of it Dimension, that was a pretty fun, solid read and I enjoyed the story! It's great that you managed to finish what you had there. Variation in faces would really help in character distinguishing. Maybe more flow and clarity would have helped what confused people but once you take a second glance through. Character development was nice to see in Seak so I hope you do more of that in the future and I liked the rain aspect 'cause it seemed to add more to your stuff.. the detail on the structures you do are nice, but sometimes they lack. I know you were running out of time though.. so it was cool anyway. Fowlie, I already love your style, but that was some brilliant and amazing execution on your part with the concept played out. It wasn't long but it was satisfying. While it managed to be entertaining it looked cool as well. In some places, you may want to straighten out your backgrounds a bit neater. However your strength is that you give your characters very distinct features. Superb work. Airlight, Go to hell. Kuro, your artwork is amazing. You are obviously very skilled with drawing and penciling. If you finished it would've been killer, like I told you earlier in the chat, but I'm glad you managed to get through and submit what you had. The integration of both BR and RR was pretty interesting as well as the movie adaptation. I gotta check out the Thing now. Andrew, It started off cool, and was a neat short read. Got pretty random later on but that's alright. I think if you had kept your attention span and interest into this, you would've came up with something amazing considering the level of detail you put into your inks (your previous fight is a prime example of that). Backgrounds lacked more this time and you seemed to not have the heart and mind into this. Try to loosen up the action/impact poses dude, I liked it though. Pye, Neat writing man, I dig where the story was going but too bad you couldn't finish, either. I like how you do your establishing shots but perhaps you can vary up your panelling layouts and continue improving on how you draw your characters. You have some cool ideas for backgrounds in some areas and with more refining you could take it further. Jong, your watercolors fucking blow me out of the water. of the color. that first page. You are such a skilled individual and I look up to you. I dunno about the heavy Monday influence but ehhh, its up to you for the direction you want to take with it because everyone naturally copies who they are inspired by so it's forgivable and I hope you diverge into your own distinct drawing method -- but yeah. what everyone else said about you not finishing. A big pity. Mamo, DAD. The handling of action on the first few pages was radical and full of motion, and you color and ink very skillfully too. You would've probably had this event at its neck too if you finished.. because I found it a bit harder to follow as it progressed later on and was pretty confused at the end, being left hanging. In some portions, your faces look a bit out of place.. so maybe look into that? Looking forward to what you got in the future, though! woo that took awhile.. Chill Airlight, don't be such a baby. Duredhel: Your b/w art has gotten pretty stellar! Not much to complain about as far as art goes. Everything was complete, the action was clear (though a little stiff), and I felt the backgrounds did what they should without being empty or obtrusive. You also had an actual story. I will echo that Anya doesn't feel very fleshed out. More character development before epic story arcs is good. Helftan: I'm gonna pretty much mimic what Pong said. The first half was meh, but the second half was spectacular. It was cheesy, over the top, and it was a mindlessly entertaining read. I guess there's legitimate complaints about the art, but it wouldn't be as entertaining and charming to look at if you made everything consistent and perfect. Awesome comic. Dimension: Solid entry! It's clear you got in a bit over your head, but you still put out as much as you could and did your best, which is the most important. You do have a bit of the same-face syndrome going on, so work variation into your style. Next time layout and think about your story before actually drawing it. Fowlie: Typical spoof comic and an easy way to fit in all of the characters. The art could've been more polished. Nothing really bad or great about this comic. Watching Slaughterface's rampage was pretty amusing, though. Airlight: Good to know you knew your limits and cut the comic off instead of tacking on another 20 pages of unfinished slop. Your coloring, paneling, and pacing is good... but you're lacking everywhere else. I noticed in your SDT entries that you relied on the hatching to fill all of the empty space. You really need to work on your lineart and anatomy and need to stop relying on photoshop filters, textures, and speedy painting with the sharpen tool ran over it about a million times. Digital is fine, but maybe try b/w? Kuro: Didn't finish, etc. I wasn't really impressed either way from what you did complete. Nice spoof with the storyline and all, and cool integration of the BR/RR tourneys, but I didn't get any lasting impression from the comic. I doubt I would have if it'd been finished. Meh. Andrewreturned: Kinda obvious you ran out of time and then rushed to get something to turn in, however nonsensical. This isn't even an unfinished piece of your usual work, so a critique is kinda pointless. I do look forward to your future battles, though. Pi: I've always felt that your writing was great, but your art doesn't seem to have improved since I've first seen your stuff. I love your prose, but your comics have quite a ways to catch up to your storytelling before they're going to be a good medium for it. Jong Bom: I loved your inking on your finished pages, and your consistency as far as skill goes has been great since you entered Jong, but you know all the problems with the battle. And I'm surprised no one's pointed this out before (if they have, I missed it) but you remind me of Monday. I'm not saying it like everyone else seems to have labeled people as Monday clones. Those people I only saw an influence in their style, however strong, and nothing else. But everything about your comics, from the art style, to the subject matter, to your characters and ideas, to the rambling, theatrical dialogue reeks of Monday. It's driving me mad that nobody else has seen it. Maybe I'm losing it. Mamoru: I'm really liking your inks and your style in the last half of the battle. There's sometimes when your style goes insane, however, and just looks ugly or weird. And you're still relying on the blurs for your action scenes, they don't help they only distract. Besides, does everything in the panel really need to be blurred? And as far as \"standard beat'em up Void comics\" go, yours struck me as something I standardly see in Void. Coincidental fights, the typical Void gang intrigue, etc. Not that it's bad, it's just something to think about. Or not. Doesn't really matter all that much. Glad to see no one defaulted!

fair enough Phil might have been a bit critical but sif compare his work from 3 years ago to today =/ Each comic had it's own look and feel. Regardless if it was unfinished or not at least everyone gave it a shot and everyone completed something that they thought was great! =)

lol, yeah check out Phil's entry from the last BR, and remember he had way more time than you guys... Anyway, overall I was kind of disappointed with this year's BR, more so considering how many great entries there were in the RR. In any event there's a lot of unfinished work here, so I won't really comment on it much. Dure, good job - you have the most complete, cohesive and consistent entry here. Story wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but it was still acceptably entertaining and I didn't get bogged down in it at any point. Helf, this would have been my favorite comic in this bunch except that the first half is just a bunch of prison movie cliches and not very interesting. Luckily the second half is delightful, and totally saves this comic. The art is consistent, and pretty good all the way through too, though you might have tried scanning it better. Dimension, you gave this a good shot - but honestly the entertainment factor is a little low, I had to go back and reread the comic before making this post just so I could remember the story in yours. You might have been able to cut back a few pages to keep the pace and interested up, but it's definitely a good effort. Fowlie, a lot of panels in this comic were confusing, and could easily have been cleared up with color or simple shading. I wasn't taken by the story very much, though you did have a few pretty funny bits in it. Air, nice coloring and art. Story to be continued ... kind of low on the entertainment factor here, but it is obvious you spent some time and effort on this. Kuro... I don't want to sound too harsh, but this wasn't really entertaining at all. The concept seems cool I suppose, but the actual execution is lacking. Andrew, the last panel of the first page is the single most entertaining panel in the entire BR. But the rest of your comic isn't especially interesting. At least the art was consistent, and it was easy to follow. Pi... I kind of wish I hadn't attempted reading this entire comic, but I just wanted to be fair.... ... ... Jong. You know what the deal with this is already. Mamoru, sometimes you draw the weirdest fucking eyes I've ever seen in comics.

In any case even tho the extra week would've made this the pinnacle of awesome, since it would've probably meant twice as many complete entries, I'm so happy to have been part of this :3 gotta say I'm very proud to have been part of this :3 best tourney I've been involved in.

Also, the argument could be made that his was the only one that explicitly said \"to be continued;\" mine was also a cliff-hanger, since I had to cut the story short as well. I'd say that at least half the entries lacked complete story arcs, and one could argue even more than that, given the types of continuing stories that the character system is often interpreted as. No need to fan this any further though, just saying.

I'm pretty amazed at this, since no one defaulted and everyone managed to submit. I'm proud of you all and dig all your entries. you should give yourselves a pat on the back for submitting in the end. I'll voice my individual comments on your battles later on. and Phil, I would just like to say that singling me out on the basis that I left it on a 'to be continued' wasn't logical at all considering you weren't as harsh on people who had more unfinished work than me. I was overambitious and cut the story in half and finished what I was able to in the remaining time, so it at least LOOKED complete. I was extremely reluctant to, as well, keeping in mind that people wouldn't receive this sort of cut-off well. I had 20+ pages planned. I had poor time management too and my fair share of excuses such as my computer breaking down in the middle, or school starting. Life hits EVERYONE. Me included. Is that a legit enough reason for you?

... and forgot dimension as well.... too many people OK, really good to see a finished comic from ya, but looking at everybody's character I kinda notice that you're using the same facial features for everybody. You gotta mix things up with other characters, Nova for example has a HUGE nose, give him a big ol' jewish schnoz, don't give him a small tiny one. The story was OK really, nothing much that made it stand out from the others honestly, it's the standard meet greet and fight story. I did like seeing a bit more of Seak's character, and it's nice to see you finished this without much troubles.

Shit... forgot to comment on Andrew's part, sorry about that, kinda thought I covered everybody. It seems you kinda did this at the last minute, and you really had an awesome first battle with corny. I highly suggest that after this you start practicing more by maybe doing some short comics, either battles or otherwise. You've got great skills, but you didn't seem ready for this tourney.

*cracks knuckles* Oh where to begin. So far all of you seem to have done well enough, you really didn't need an extension if you ask me. But still half of the entries are unfinished. I think I'll start with those Air, Kuro, Pi, Jong, and Mamo: I really hate to sound unsympathetic, but I think more could of been done with the time given, and with a shorter page count. Yeah I know the first Battle Royale got an extension, but all of us in that fight either turned in crap or nothing at all. Airlight, I count this as unfinished, why? Because no other comic in this fight ends on a \"To be continued.\" That is a huge cop out here dude, we get some good stuff going on here granted I really would like to see more linework instead of speed painting personally. But we only get half the story here and the next part is coming soon? If half the people here are doing 30 page comics (which I'll get to later...) why can't you finish? I'm sorry to sound like an asshole here people, but this isn't a 2nd place comic! Pi, Jong, and Kuro: I've got nothing but love for you guys, but you guys should of known what you were getting into and planned these battles out accordingly. If you shoot for 20+ page comics in the time of a regular battle with an extension, you'll always bite off more than you can chew unless you know what you're doing. I understand you guys have real life to worry about, but if you want to go about a contest like this, go for a short story that you could easily do and just focus on making it your best quality. Do NOT do what monday does and try to do a 50 page epic. You try to do that and you'll end up like me when I was in the BR. Pi, I really think you should ease up on the cross hatching honestly, it's either looking way to scribbly, or too messy. Jong that first page is lovely, but next time plan a shorter comic, with less pages you will always have less to work with. Kuro, you seriously have everybody pegged here when it comes to quality and nobody here can hold a candle to ya, but you knew what you were getting into and I really wish you did have more time to finish. Mamoru: DUDE! Put some oil between those gears inside of ya and grind off some of that rust! There's next to nothing in terms of backgrounds here, your action is nice as always but there's just way too much negative space here. I would like to see you battling again, but you gotta put more into your panels bro! I expect more from a fellow kommerade! You guys did do a great job, and not very many people get to participate in this tourney. Don't focus on what you did wrong for very long, this is all a huge learning experience this is. Know your current limits for making a complete comic, don't force yourself into doing tons and tons of pages for a long winded story, and don't kill yourselves. Now for the top 3 Dure: I'm kinda with Angela on this one, with very few battles under Anya's belt, I hardly know her. Where did those other girls come from anyway? And couldn't this comic be shorter? Aside from that, the art is a step up from the SDT with OSbot, but I'm still seeing some rather slapped in brick backgrounds here and there and some rather sloppy linework on them to boot. You're great at detailing this shit mang, but you gotta make these backgrounds a bit cleaner. The story seemed a bit cut and dry for my tastes, it was a typical meet greet and fight formula that's been done to death. You had a good story though, but other characters just seemed to have been under represented like Helf's just getting tossed aside... what the fuck man? Well anywho, I did enjoy the comic, but it's not as entertaining as I'd hope it would be. Fowlie: Short, sweet, and too the point. I really like this comic because like helf's, it doesn't go by the standard BR format of everybody fighting and the artist's fighter coming out on top. However there's one thing that bugs me and a few others from what I've heard. It's very very hard to see what's going on. All the characters are just crammed into panels. I really think you could of had an extra page or two for this fight just to clear up what was going on here, and it wouldn't be a huge sin. Still though, I found this comic to be highly entertaining and one of the best reads here so far. Helftan: .... ... fuck... I'm sorry man, but like everybody else, I'm just awestruck at this. You just took the Battle Royale, and made it your own thing here. I'm just in awe at what I was reading, it's seriously hard to look at the others after this comic. I never expected the other characters to be subjected to so much hellish treatment and enjoy watching. The art wasn't perfect but it works with this comic and the material within, my only true complaint really is having everybody say 666 occasionally, sorry man, I know this is a pretty satanic comic, but having them say that just seemed way too cheesy and unnecessary to say. Also the page count... but at the time when I was reading I wasn't thinking about how much of a chore it was to load up another page. The three of you deserve major props, but I really think this battle should go to Helf for making one of the most unique fights I've seen so far.

Solid backgrounds and storyline, so kudos to you- I really enjoyed your comic. GUDJOB. Helf- Loved it. Your colors worked really well with your comic. I liked the storyline and all the grittiness, but when Loofy got raped I almost shed a tear XD Cool stuff, we needa battul. Cool backgrounds and environments as well. So like, three of the first few comics that I read had Eden being raped, mutliated, or *almost* raped... I hope that's where it ends... helftan, that was horrible, sick, and depraved. Nice work, I really like your watercolors (although I like your digital stuff as well). kuro- I agree with Dawg... I liked what I did see... but I wish your three exposition pages were easier to read. The text was very dark for me. BLLEARRGH! andrew: the story wasn't very momorable, but you had some solid stuff going on with the inks and tones.. the first page especially is very good. The panels with the moutain and then the space station were so pretty; I wish there was more of that. maybe you were running low on time, but this comic definately lacked backgrounds.. fowlie: I agree with what's been said already.. I liked it; like most of your comics it was really fun and energetic. air: I liked the momemtum you got going; how Rob's just in this race and meeting up with the other BRers as he goes. I didn't care for the variety of fonts, though. Now I wait for the conclusion :>

Dure-I would have liked had you planned a shorter battle so you could have really pushed your art like crazy, but it still looked good nonetheless. The story was plenty entertaining, perhaps it would have helped to point out who the characters traveling with Anya are? I know who they are but Vinca and Aja haven't had too many battles so it may have helped. I really liked the huge monster, I look forward to seeing more of those in your battles in the future. Helftan-I was really surprised that I enjoyed your entry a lot since your previous battles didn't do much for me. I loved all the chaos and craziness you had going on. And you know, I think the English and grammar problems actually made it more enjoyable for me since the whole time I pictured these hilarious voices for all the characters speaking all Engrish like if that makes any sense and things like the sex scene just killed me. Please keep doing traditional colors, it works so much better than your digital stuff. Dimension-I think this is another case where someone should have done a shorter battle. While it's good that you got everything in color and finished up, the quality really goes down as the battle goes along. But I was impressed you managed to finish up and do a pretty nice entry. Fowlie-Fuck, the story cracked me up. It was short and sweet and entertaining as hell. It looks like you're improving on your linewidths, that's something to keep working on in the future still. I loved how you drew all the characters, they all look unique and have a ton of personality. My only suggestion would be to spend more time cleaning up your stuff and getting rid of stray pencil marks and smudges. Airlight-Dude, work on your lineart homeslice. Your colors look great as always but your lineart is still lacking big time! I found the story entertaining but I was just sad that you didn't give your lineart all the love it needed. I thought you had some nice character interaction going on but be careful with using a ton of different fonts as it gets confusing. Kuro-I think you got way in over your head here. The art that you had was great, but obviously the whole script thing when you ran out of time killed it. I know that shit happens but be careful about planning crazy huge things when you don't have much time. Andrew-You started really strong but then it got kind of random. Like those first pages looked great but then the story kind of fell apart as did your backgrounds. Still, I was impressed you managed to technically finish even though you had 1 battle under your belt, I was impressed. Pi-Your story started out awesome but since you ran out of time, it kind of fell apart. I'm still glad that we took a chance on letting you in since you did manage to get quite a bit done and it was obvious you worked hard. Just be careful about planning huge epics when you don't have that much time. Jong-Speaking of planning huge epics, wasn't this thing going to be like 60 pages or something? haha Dude, aim small until you know you can handle it. I enjoyed the pages that were more finished and you had some good character interaction and interesting story ideas, it was just a shame you weren't able to finish up. Mamo-What you had finished looked really nice and it's good to see you back at the battle wheel! It sucks that you ran out of time and were unable to finish. One thing I noticed was your face structures were looking pretty odd, I think it's mostly the eyes look flat in quarter/side views and such. I think that's a problem you've always had so try to work on it in the future.

shit, I don't know how I left you out Pi. you had a really fun story going. I think you should experiment with using different types of pens.

dure - It looked really good, but I had no idea who a lot of the characters were, 'cause they all look the same. The story was decent. It dragged on a bit long though. helf - Some of the scans don't look all that great, but the comic is really hilarious and looks really cool. You might have overdone everyone saying 666 so much, but when the cop said it, I laughed. dimension - You had one of my favorite stories. Art wise it was good too, and didn't lose that much when you switched to shading. fowls - Yours looked GREAT, but didn't make much sense. Everything happened so quickly, and there was too many close up panels, which made it look cluttered. air - Like fowlie, yours looked great and didn't make sense. And you did a continuation - BOO! It was still enjoyable to look through though. kuro - Man, stop trying to make epics. You'd be one of the best artists on the site if you just did stories you could handle. andrew - It seemed pretty lazy. You're line art was nice though. jong - I couldn't tell anyone apart which made it difficult to read. The parts that were done were pretty impressive though. carls - It's a shame you couldn't finish. The first few pages are some of the best I've seen from you.
