Sorry, Qyzex, but the \"guess what?? SECRET ALTER-EGO!!\" attack didn't do it for me. Your art's really improved, but this wasn't a terribly entertaining story. If you come back with a new character, I'm SO kicking your ass for this. D:< Puzzlething, I kinda wish you had tweaked the color levels or something, the colors are a little muddy. Though I have to say, I've never seen colored pencils survive a scanning as well as this. I love your unique style, and the humor was random and unexpected. And that taxi-checkered scarf? I WANT IT.

Whee first vote! Qyzex: Good clean lines and colouring. I was only really confused by your art in the first half of page 4 (hard to flow from panel to panel) and the story started out so funny, it was a definite shocker to have it go in like 3 unexpected directions. I mean, is Merk going be a pervy psycho killer now?? Puzzlethang: HILARIOUS! I was floored by the amount of consistent humour in this after scoping Jazz's page. I had no idea you'd go that route. For being funny enough to win, actually winning the fight, and \"will I ever pimp again?\", I vote for you. My biggest critique is stick to the computer wording, I could barely make out \"swallowed mah teef\"

Merk: Even though this is going to be a losing effort for you, you did a REALLY good job. I liked your art (especially the booby trap) and your story although unexplained was pretty enjoyable to read. I hope you look at this as a positive even though your character is dead lol. Jazz: Very impressive debut. I think I gave you the highest scores I've ever given someone who wasn't Felony or Mize. Your art is very good. Most people who excell that much at art have a way of making it so detailed that you can't focus on any one thing and it annoys me but you don't have that problem (at least not in this comic). The story was pretty strange but you had alot of good gags and I laughed at your surgery bit. Congrats on surviving your first battle! Walking on the wide side suits you!

QYZUMS: i thought your first page was quite excellent, definitely some of your best stuff. The other pages weren't quite as good as that first one, but good none the less. I was really impressed that you could pull this off in only a week :3 I laughed pretty hard at the boob, and tenticles :D So yeah, next time we see a comic from you, it better be all sexy like that first page ;) PUZZZLEASSHOLE: your comics lose some of their 'I-did-this-all-by-hand' charm when i see it on a screen. I already talked to you about adjusting it in photoshop and stuff. Bascially, make you blacks blacker. Also, you couls use some WHITE in there. Get one of those white pens, and make some highlights to make it really pop. One thing thing that I wished you would have done was make some crazy panel layout where stuff pops out of the panels (like in our huge comic) I think thats one of your strong points! annnnd i guess just try to make things clearer in certain points. THAT IS ALL

WHOA okay, Qyzex; this was your best quality yet, really great. that first page is a treat! the rest wasn't too bad, I was curious about a couple things like why Merk is a monster, and why his dad and Jazz got in a fight.. booby trap was funny though, haha. a good effort on your part! Puzzle; AHAHA OH GOLLY. I laughed. Teddy got me good. it looks nice, I dunno if there's a way to get your colours to stand out a little more maybe? but really it was swell overall. AWESOME GUYS.

Commenting on the both of you, you guys did pretty okay respectively in your own unique ways. Pulling off a one week battle, let alone a death match must have been an incredible challenge on both your parts. Like the forementioned, I'd hate to see Merk go. Yet I'd hate to see a newcomer get blasted off the VOID roster so soon too. It's a shame to have to see one of your characters go... but personal opinions aside, here's my honest thoughts on your comics... Qyz - You did an okay job man. Your paneling has improved greatly, and they're not so insanely scattered like your older works. I was a bit suprised to see a more melee oriented battle from you, which I had to give myself some time to swallow in. Sadly, there wasnt much explained as to why Jazz was going after Qyz's father, so I felt that the plot devices were a little empty. Jazz - Yours was a bit better in the matter of entertainment and storyline. Qyz stayed well in character IMHO, and I couldn't help but laugh at the bricking and 'amateur surgery' scene. Only thing is the quality in the coloring does get fuzzy, so some of the gestures and facial expressions can be a little hard to read sometimes.

Qyz: Sorry kid, but the story really didn't interest me. In fact, the story doesn't really go that deep at all. Why is Jazz beating up his father again? How did Merk's father ended up in Void City in the first place? I did like the booby trap joke though, and the round shoulder thingamajiger gag. But it's still not enough to win my votes, not even your new \"alter-ego\". Puzzle: Your's was alright. It was well average for an one-week battle entry, and acceptable for your first battle and for your first deathmatch as well. The visuals are good, the story was decent yet good enough. The whole idea of smashing Merk with a brick and reshaping his head via plastic surgery to look like Teddy Roosevelt made up for this though. Final results: Great work Puzzle on your first entry. Hope to see more from you soon. But for poor ol' Colin, well, you very well need to improve on your comics. Now Merk is going to his grave with his boombox, but I still got his wallet.

Fuck, the new fighter got a good start, but i don't want merk to die! ... but that's how it is in this world, but you both did great, it's pretty close, but yeah, jazz was the winner in my opinion! ... So yay
