ScorpionOcean: Kudos to you for having a cohesive and clear story! It was a simple story, but that works fine for me. :D The issues with the artwork have already been addressed, but you are definitely improving in a big way. Only thing I have to say is I don't like the ripply-things on the blue back poofy part of Himawari's hair. Izzy: I loved it. Yeah, the backgrounds were empty-ish, but I like how you made the use of everyone's abilities for something besides beating things up. And Trixie made me LOL. It was very cute. :3 And I really like how you render Aixa's moving parts.

Hima - Nice clean colors and lines. Watch out for word bubble placement, especially on the second page it is totally confusing, you read Hima's lines before Foo's. Izzy - Nice linework and humor, haha! But definitely will forgive the absence of super awesome mega epic fight because of the engaging volleyball panels, but seriously :/ you could have wrapped up the story in another manner, even. You can totally do more than this. Keep it up, both of you!!

Scorp-you're getting much better, this is a big step above your previous battles but you still have a bit to work on. I think the textures would work much better if you put more shading into the actual backgrounds, like look at the show Courage the Cowardly Dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeXHKDGg3SQ Courage relies heavily on flat textures as backgrounds but pulls it off effectively by using a lot of realistic shading and such to add to the atmosphere. Right now the backgrounds are just looking flat, a clear light source could add some realism to the shading and lighting. Other than that I agree with what people have said, your action and linewidths could use a bit of work, just keep working on it you've already improved a lot. Izzy-While the characters are well rendered and the story is fun, I think you could have put a lot more effort into this battle. I think the empty backgrounds really just kind of killed it for me, there's just soooo much negative space dude! Even some speedlines could have brought the feeling of emptiness down. It was entertaining as hell just don't neglect your backgrounds so much. The \"lazy panel\" wasn't really necessary, you could have just cut it out and left the fight as is, it was fine without any fighting. The talent is there just try harder dude, I loved your previous matches, would just like to see you push yourself harder.

Lack of comments and critiques on the main site, so I might as well say a thing or two Scorpion: You've got my vote overall, When I looked at this fight I saw backgrounds and full color, granted your story wasn't super great and just played with the old \"Fighter meets fighter and fights\" story, but it really showed alot of improvement since your last fights on the main site. Izzy: Pretty good, but honestly: I know you can do alot better art wise! You've got such intresting anatomy design, but reading through this comic was a real chore, so many patches of white with very few backgrounds, the story however was good... but it felt like something I've read one too many times on the main site. Both of you did good, but my vote goes to the comic that showed the most effort put into it: Scorpion Ocean ftw.

Good comics, went with Izzy, overall the better entry. That little cameo gave me some ideas. Way to cop out on the fight scene you lazy bastard. You can do a lot better on backgrounds too. Scorpion- Not a bad entry, I'd say work on your hands, they come off looking a little basic in some places. Also you tend to draw the forearms a little long. Varying your line weights would add some depth to the panels as well.

Scorpion - nice quality, even though I think you need to work on making your poses a bit more natural. Your fight scenes were kind of weird - it got confusing at the trip because I didn't realize she tripped Aixa until she said so. The story was also pretty boring and seemed a bit cliche. however, it looked like you put more effort into coloring and cleaning up the art than Izzy. Izzy - nice lines, but I think it would have looked cleaner and more precise if you inked it with a pen or cleaned up your pencil lines more. The story was creative and pretty entertaining, but you got reaaaally lazy at the \"big epic fight scene\" XDDDDD I think you could have put at least a couple panels of action. Izzy gets the edge here because her story was more creative and entertaining.

Alright - Scorps and I have discussed the comic grandiosely, but I suppose I should lay down some text, just in case. HIMA. It was good that she included colour with the battle, because it helped things to stand out a bit more. However, I felt that the pacing was really jagged in areas, and there were times where figuring out what was going on wasn't as clear as I would have liked - for example, when Hima makes her way behind Aixa to blow air into her vents. Also, anatomy needs some brushing up (ha, like I'm one to talk!), as can be seen by some weirdly-angled headshots and whatnot. Add some more background work in, and some things to keep the eye busy, and it would've helped as well. Plus, entertain more! Envision that the Void Battles are like, well, I guess what Aixa sees it as. A huge battle arena. It may help! AIXA. I was enjoying the comic, even with its lack of backgrounds and colour, mostly because it was just pretty funny at times. Grabbing the ball with the mouth, Hima cheating - there were little things that made it work. But it really just CHEESED me off when the battle scene was omitted at the end. Whether intended for humour or not, it killed the pacing of the comic, and made it far less enjoyable, in my opinion. Some more time could've been spent on backgrounds to make this solid =) But all in all, best of luck to both of you!

Scorp: WOWZAH nice quality going ON UP IN HERE. Very nice comic. Nothing wrong with the coloring or lines. Things that could change though: Hima's hair texture was just. Seemed a little odd. With the majority of the comic being flat. The texture is just, eh. And, of course, life drawing will only make you better, sharpen up your muscle definitions and what not. Excellent excellent. Iz: Wahah, you filthy artist you. Cute comic, I love your expressions and your style adorable. I love the little bits of mechanics to Aixa you showed, they're all very intricate but simple at the same time? I don't know, was some cool junk though. More baaackgrounds, more ink, more more more. Thanks THOUGH.

I gave this one to Scorpy, because even if Aixa's figures were better drawn, its obvious he put very little effort into this. Scorpy coloured every page, and did a complete story, and for that wins in my books.
