Good work! I love the black shadows, and the blocky scratchiness of the linework makes for an interesting style :]

congrats on completing your first void comic, your line work and fundamentals are already good, pacing and composition are things you will learn as you do more comics.

An amazing book about comic panel compositions is Framed Ink by Marcos Mateu-Mestre and you will learn about compostions as well as get plenty of reference for different compositions from the book.

Lovely spot blacks! Especially on that 7th panel, the composition looks great too!

This looks good for a first comic, actually!

Welcome to Void!

Welcome to Void and congratulations on getting this much done! The pacing is honestly not bad at all actually; for a simple fight comic between two monsters it is paced just right, and the action is generally understandable which is one of the most important elements illustrating a fight. I see the vision and hope you decide to stick with it, the pieces for greatness are here ready to be polished from the rough

Gig, very high props coming out and giving it your all! you show a lot of potential, here. Your style is fine, but just needs a little more refinement and practice: then you can really cook with this kind of line work! I needed more establishing shots or wide shots for me to be able to tell which big lizaaaard was biting whomst, but after a re-scroll I got it. GOROG is a character that's got legs (lol) and I can imagine a story where Messusalem meets up with GOROG. Can't wait to see you in the next round, you've earned it!

Messy but soulful fighty comic. Thank you for not making me think too hard haha, I'm in a state of sleeplessness but no physical fatigue right now. My advice is to just draw more often to get more lineart confidence and not shy away from comic battles here after this tournament wraps up, you'll get better by doing more and gaining experience and then once you have a bigger body of work to look at, you can analyse what your strengths and weaknesses are.

Fantastic first effort! You've got a great use of value and contrast which makes the art really stand out. The action is also sick, especially Gokeron's arm being torn and regenerating. Some panels are difficult to follow, but that's to be expected for a first comic. I look forward to seeing you improve your skills in the coming rounds!

FIRST COMIC FUCK YEAH!!! I really enjoyed your use of spot blacks to add contrast, and I can tell you really love drawing Kaiju! I'd like to see more love for the backgrounds in the future, but I can already tell if you keep at it you'll be well on your way to being a comic master 😤 keep up the good work and good luck in the next round!!!

For your first time this definitely shows promise! The main issue, like Snowy said, ends uo being clarity. When you have such heavy lineart and use of spot black shading, it can get hard to read some panels. Besides that my only real critique is a lack of resolution at the end. It feels like we've ended this mid fight, though truth be told you're not the only one in this tourney that has that issue, and that may be chalked up to not javing enough time, so I won't harp on thst too much. Since your opponent defaulted, you'll get another chance to practice your craft in round 2

For your first time, I think you did great on this. The explosions and lineart were done very well. I do feel like you could try to make a "background" in the future? What i mean by this is you can cheat it by adding greys to the background, play around with a lil bit of shading and see how you feel with that! Especially with impact frames, it'll help compliment your artstyle. Good work, looking forward to more work of yours!

There are some really interesting angles going on here, and it's an impressive undertaking to try them! They do largely feel successful, but I do admittedly get lost on a few of the panels. I think if you focus on making the lines a bit cleaner where there isn't movement, that would really help! Nice work on this!
