Great work! Love the anatomy and expressions! For some reason, the way that you draw teeth really sticks out to me. It makes it feel more tactile, in a way. Your use of limited color is very interesting as well!

As the creator of Oranu, I’ve always visualized Oranu to fight any Kaiju he confronts in any way, whether it’s silly or serious. But this is this one of the freshest ideas I’ve seen of Oranu’s reaction to a “not of this universe” Kaiju. The last image of him staring at Tokage absolutely irritated, got me off guard. I live ideas like this comic and I sure as heck would love to see more silly confrontations of the two!

Welcome and congrats on your delivery! You’ve got the idea of longscroll format pretty well, but where this definitely shines is in the character that Tokage is, it’s clear you have fun writing him as this irreverent beastie, who has quips even in an encounter as tame as this one with Oranu. Your handwritten lettering isn’t too bad actually, but if you really wanna lean on that then I recommend you make your word balloons handcrafted as well. The different stroke/brush is a good touch but you don’t need the balloons to be these perfect oval shapes, especially if it’s going to lead to unnecessary negative space in some balloons (looking at the space after “where to?” You’re close to getting this as you do play with the shapes in some lines of dialogue, don’t get constrained with the circular shape in future comic battles. Something else you will want to take a look at is what resolution you are drawing at, some of your brush work seems like there’s a pixelation happening from working on a canvas at low resolutions. Try to draw on canvases at resolutions that are much higher than whatever your finished product will be, this is good practice to better understand your brush’s full potentials and retain quality and fidelity no matter what size you export off. Like all the other new artists, a lot of things you can improve on here will definitely get improved on with more time and practice. You have a good grasp on comic storytelling so I’m excited to see how your work looks in the future when you’ve trained up. Good luck in the next round

This was a fun read! Very clear and easy to read style too.

Salvage! Your hand lettering looks SO GOOD! and your story is just the right length. The stakes are low, its only round 1. And yet you also had time to tell us a lot about how Tokage and Kyoko's powers work, as well as how they speak to each other.

I think if you're able to hand letter again, I'd be pleased if you could manage a slightly different font for Kyoko than for Tokage. In their first few exchanges I had trouble guessing who was talking, though the raspy-looking speech bubble helped hint that it was a disembodied voice.

Other than those nitpicks, this is one of those comics where I'm ready to get invested in some new characters and write some reviews that focus on characterization and acting! Oranu was cute in this, with the little fruit pile. the way he threw the fruit at Tokage looks like maybe it needed better reference, but I still understood the action.

Hope your next round is just as fun to read! I'm sure whoever you get paired against will even things out with this lil default, though I know they can suck.

Solid entry all around. Already a big fan of this funky guy and look forward to his antics in round 2! IfnI had to criticize, I would have liked a more fleshed out interaction between Tokage and Oramu, but with a 2 weekd deadline I know I can only ask for so much

I really enjoyed the comedic nature of this comic. Your kaiju cast has always been one of my personal favorites; Kyoko and Tokage are both endearing and play well off of each other. The two having to get back to their own world is a great way to set up a continuous storyline, and I'm excited to see how they'll deal with their next opponent. Oranu's very expressive here as well; his irritated look at the end is gold.

Very lighthearted entry! It's a treat to see Tokage and Kyoko dynamics again after for a very long time, I have no critiques to share considering your work has always been a big factor to why I initially began comic making a long time ago. 10/10!
