But what happened to Vidia! >8[ ]
Snowy & Fluff: These represent new level-ups for the both of you, the visuals are really striking and impressive and you should be proud of how far you've come, great job
Snowy: I got vibes of professional webcomics from this, if you were wondering if your artistic skills have reached that point, I will say right here you've come to that point. I think the speed lines for pages 2-3 needed more polish. I just had one issue with the story: Gus' reasoning isn't sound: As Yamato is a spawn of Gus as much as Rickter and Dairyu, I believe he would absolutely become a target if Gus released his chaos into the world by sheer association. If this was an intentional flaw in his train of thought then I would have liked to see it pointed out as it kind of knocks his argument out immediately, more than Dairyu's which is more of a faith claim
Fluff: Seriously good upgrade here with your work. It looks like you're trying out a lot of new effects and brushes to help shorthand some environmental information, definitely keep practice with them. This comic had a tension to it as well, but it feels like it ends just short of a proper conclusion, and part of the issue is that with the environment kind of disappearing entirely for the latter half of this comic for the mood colors and energy effects, it's hard to figure out exactly *where* they are in the world, the stakes become a bit visually nebulous
Keep it up guys!
It's amazing how much love and care was poured into these comics! The stakes being so high on both sides has me on the edge of my seat
SNOWY - The colors are out of this world holy shit. Your colors are always gorgeous but I think this one is the best you've done so far! (imo ofc). The pacing is great, dialogue has a good flow. Your expressions and body language just keep getting better with each comic too! As well with anatomy. Superb job!
FLUFFS - I'm floored by the tone shift in this. How it starts all cute and domestic just for the stakes to shoot up was nuts (in the best way of course). Always love seeing you pour tons of effort with the colors and angles! and also angels ofc lmao. My heart aches for Rickter, but I'm excited to see what happens next
These two could easily become a very scary Arma threat
The amount of polish in both of these comics is nothing short of gorgeous!! Seeing Rickters story get his time to shine is sucha breath of fresh air, and the progression between this pair has been beautiful to witness. Im so invested and waiting with baited breath to see whats next for the fated two!!
Snowy- ypur style really does hit a good balance of ability to be cute and ability to be serious and awe inspiring and being able to switch between the two seamlessly. Your colors are excellent and vibrant, which is always something I particularly appreciate.
Fluff- you've got some gnarly visual effects going on here which work really well at creating the atmosphere and tension you're trying to achieve. Your characters are expressive and your compositions are clear and effective.
It's hard to say anything about the writing in a way that's mutually exclusive since both comics handle a similar topic in a similar way, and honestly I love it when both sides seem to be on the same page, even if in this match-up it's to be expected. It's always really cool to see how two people decide to tackle the same idea. Snowy did an excellent job of raising the stakes and resolving them to build the characters, and fluff leaving it open ended gives this new development room to grow further. Either way I definitely wanna know what happens next. These are both excellent reads
Snowy - LOVE LOVE LOVE your composition, colors and textures. Reading your comics is such eye candy. Loved the conflict between Rickter, Gus and Dairyu, it felt REAL. Also enjoyed a lot the explanation you did about their new scars.
Fluff - Baby Yamato is super cute! Your colors and composition shots were superb here. Rickter's tension and fear was well made and conveyed. Left me wanting more!!!
Excellent job both of you.
Snowy: I love how less abrasive your characterised Gus while still keeping him a primarily argumentative character, it was nice
Fluff: This one is a tad more morose but was still a nice read because of the more introverted sense of intimate urgency.
What's neat about both of these is how they're like a yin and yang of the other, that's what I love about it.
Thank you so much for battling me, fluff!! I absolutely adore your side, you did such a wonderful job! The story made me tear up a little and I could really feel the stress and worry Rickter felt, the tension was really well done! The beginning with Yamato was absolutely adorable too, I loved his expressions and how much of a menace he is!
