“Hm, I’ve never tried to write an overarching story for a tournament before. Oh, I know! I can make this story all about a grumpy man slowly accepting that he actually loves his friends dearly!” *Proceeds to only give him two friends that he’s so obsessed with that the message of the story turns into the power of a polycule.* Anyways, this comic! I feel like its weakest point was the pacing and the characterization were a bit wonky, especially towards the end. I also feel like Burmy’s role in all of this is very cookie cutter too (which is why I added in the convo at the end). Despite that though, I’m actually really proud of this comic! I managed to make it with more than an extra day to spare (which I spent doing a bit of coloring and the bonus page at the end). Both characters were really fun to draw too - I ADORE Burmy’s big ol bug eyes and Sour’s noodle-y limbs! I also tried out experimenting with pure color art after several years after I started to do a bunch of small doodles for my friends in the style. Unfortunately, I have seemed to have forgotten the fact that a character frequently referred to as “Purple Guy” would have far less colors than a character named after a substance well known to make kids hyper, but whatever gfgfggf- Anyways, that you all so much for reading! I really wasn’t expecting to get this far in this tournament when I first joined, but I’m really happy to have had this opportunity to really show off to the site (not to mention that this tourney was also an easy way for me to make some friends a little bit more easily too)!
