Firefly: Just between this and your last comic, you have shown us how quickly you can learn! You’ll probably be outpacing many of us in a few months! I for one fear your power. For craftsmanship: i think your panels would benefit from more breathing room between each other. That could mean thicker black lines, true gutters, spreading the panels out more on the page, or it could mean designing your art so it doesn’t run into the edges of the panels. Having appendages flop over the edges of the borders is a fun trick, but can cause clutter, so be sure to only use it when you need to get a message across. Having word balloons and sound effect bubbles cross into gutters and other panels is a staple of all void comics, but the balloons and effects need to have high enough contrast to the regular panel art and borders so we have a sense of consistency between all the elements and know which type of thing takes priority. But I wasn't confused at all knowing which balloon to read first. I think you are just teaching yourself a comic style all your own and it just needs more development. Try to study from as many different sources for comics as possible, and i know you’ll get ideas for how to get ideas to flow! your choice to put poof and senki in a space battle that looks a lot like an 80s arcade video game was just a brilliant way to marry the core aesthetics and meanings of both characters. I think everyone can tell the story is just so good. To have Poof wind up floating alone in space: very sad and much more compelling of a way to finish their arch than any of us would have had the heart to come up with. Final note: POOF HAS A TONGUE!? Where did it come from! Gregly: It really felt like a man being forced to read a script on camera while being held hostage drew this comic. The art is really clean and tight and bright and the happy emotions are so fittingly cold. The last panel with poof’s face still :3 was VERY. UPSETTING. you did poof so cute, yet SO DIRTY. The world Senki lives in is so harshly slapstick, it was like Poof’s brand of wholesome family entertainment was completely incongruous. When I get the chance, unlike Bruno who won’t avenge his brother’s death, Tay will seek revenge against Senki for doing Poof so dirty. My favorite joke of course is the one where Senki holds a picture of his wife and she’s a giant amoeba. Relationship goals.

Firefly- Great entry, The story was paced flawlessly and that last page was such a well-done gut-punch! I think your art is solid and I'm excited to watch you develop and improve naturally. I have a few minor suggestions- Add some gutters especially when you're doing full colour, it'll help make the scenes look extra clear and readable (Gregly's comic is a great example of the benefits of this!) I'd also recommend downloading a new comic font, here's a good one https://blambot.com/en-gb/products/milk-mustache you want your text to look good but not be distracting from the visuals. Gregly- I read this comic in absolute horror, WELL DONE SIR. I have no notes, this was great.

Gonna say it was a difficult time giving these critiques, even if you both did request some aiiiieeeeee. Cruel and vicious gutpunches without being sensational. Damn. Firefly: This one is the most heartwrenching in my opinion. I tend not to critique a persons art too thoroughly because I strongly believe that anyone can improve even with lots of struggle or lack thereof. So in regards to your art, I think you're fine and just need to strengthen what you think are your strengths and work on your fundamentals (we all gotta, all the damn time), because nothing was really confusing in this comic, you got the point across and I don't think anything really confused me. The only things that were outstanding were relatively minor like some panel compositions and like literally one spelling error (on page 2 where Senki says "safety hazard" it is spelled as "saftey" which is honestly pretty inconsequential. I've been told in the past that 4 panel compositions like the one at the bottom of page 2 and the top of page 7 can lead the eye of the reader astray. This is something I'm on the fence about as your comic was not unreadable otherwise but it's also something to think about in the future for more efficient readability and experimentation). Other than that, you were doing nice experiments with the paneling that did pay off. I think the other seven pages read just fine! Gregly: This was very bittersweet. I feel like I don't have much to say on this one, apologies. I guess the only """""critique"""" I can give is that it's cool to see more of what Senki is like and I hope to see even more with time. Damn, critiques are hard. Now I will scream into a pillow or something. Both because of critique-giving and the emotional impact of the comics haha.

Firefly this comic is so good- senki saying sheesh right into the phone. Putting down the wet floor sign. the 'that's just an annoyance' line. and the space invader-y antics. I love your writing!

Crying, screaming, throwing up. As Poof’s NUMBER ONE FAN, I enjoyed both sides because they were simply adorable. Firefly, I think the only thing that really bugged me about your comic was the placement of the speech bubbles. Especially page 4 I got really confused on the last panel on what to read first. That stuff can be tricky, but I’d read up on placement for future comics! Gregly, I wasn’t expecting the death, I thought his neck would just detach or something so I thought the actual death was pretty clever. Very much enjoyed both sides!

This round is going hard with the kills! Both deaths tugged at the heartstrings. I don't want to see either of these characters go!!

Oh no oh noooo. Gregly your comic was so cute and yet each page filled me with more and more dread. Rest in pieces Poof. I also love that both our characters don't realize the other is dead at the end.

Man, you both didn't have to punch me in the gut like this. Firefly: Senki has led Poof astray, they now delight in violence. For real though you are gonna kill me with how cute and tragic this toy dragon is, I really can't handle it. The writing is simple but it works, and that end hits like a sucker punch. Gregly: My god, there was several points there where I though "this is going to end badly" and somehow it just kept getting worse. Congratulations, my day is ruined ;-; For real though, good work, both of you.
