Rockman- Thank you SO much for the battle, it has been an absolute pleasure! I love your comic & style...I also thought you did a really great job using bits of Rae and Blue story in your battle, I really appreciate that you took the time to read some backlog. Sigrid is a fantastic character, she was so fun to write and draw & the element of Arq's secret is such a tasty story hook, I can't wait to see where that goes. Rockman: this is a great first battle. Your inking style is really clean and works well for this. I agree with Cy's crits about the panels, you should vary up your compositions and framing of panels. Also I think you should push your expressions for the more extreme emotions. Rae's expressions in the final two panels of page 4 don't look desperate enough, from the dialogue it sounds like she's genuinely scared of dying. Take some time to study some expressions and notice how certain parts of the face move and contort when a person is experiencing certain emotions. After studying that for a bit stretch those well beyond what is possible for a person to do so you can properly convey extreme emotions in comics. But this was a great first comic. Flytee: your art is always consistently great and i love the limited colors you use. Also seeing Rae's downward spiral and her negotiation to have the soul taken away was great.

What an enjoyable battle from both sides! Love Sigrid's larger than life personality that contrasts with her smaller stature. Poor Rae though who's just so done with the shenanigans on all accounts. I want her to be happy but at the same time, I can't get enough of seeing her misadventures. Rockman - Hey! Great first battle! Love the details that you put in yours. I love the cafe background in the beginning. I hope you do some shading too next time or maybe some more spot blacks to give your lovely art more depth. I enjoy watching Sigrid and Arq's dynamic. Their personalities make for some interesting interactions. I can't wait to see more of them. Flytee - Always adore your art and I know I keep saying that. You're also getting better at screentones. The pop of color really brings everything up a notch. And Sigrid is too damn adorable in your style. Love the sass! As someone who has followed Rae's story from the beginning, I enjoy that you stick to a continuing tale about her. And I am excited for NDA !!

TheRockman this is really good stuff for your first battle. Like, you did backgrounds and drew every page and did the whole thing! good spellin, i'd agree hand-drawing the bubbles instead of perfect ovals might look better. the panelling is an interesting method and it works well with your style i think. The only spot it let you down was the scene transition on page four, right at the climactic moment (with a big ice dragon attack literally inches away from her face!) --!! and it cuts away-- im not saying you needed to draw the impact, but that change in the middle of the page was a little jarring. But this whole thing was really good, be proud, welcome! Flytee your style is so cartoony and pleasant! Your hand written words looks really nice and easy to read, even the pretty loopy words on p6. There's just a couple of spelling errors to look out for, like 'fool-proof' and an 'is' for an 'if' and little stuff like that (that honestly dont matter all that much...). The story is neat and i like the soul-weaver motifs with hair and eyes, but i feel like it went on for a bit too long in this comic. I love the way you wrote Sigrid in yours, and Rae bargaining with her was an interesting twist. Rae's in so much trouble all the time, I'm interested to see what happens next!

IItherockmanII: Sigrid did trap Rae, that's what the black space with eyes represent, Sigrid abducting/teleporting Rae into the warehouse. Ahh I see! Since Rae was worrying about things like running away and meeting new people, I thought the eyes and darkness were supposed to be some manifestation of her anxieties or something. Multi-eyed goopy horrors have featured in Rae and Blue's comics in the past, so I figured you were doing a callback to that, especially since you were getting inside her head like her last comic did as well. I could've just been confused because I'm pretty familiar with Rae and Blue's archive, but if anyone else misreads it, I'd recommend maybe showing Sigrid cast the spell before we see the shadows creep up on whoever's being trapped. That way it's more obvious it's magic (supposedly) coming from her and physically existing in the world, as opposed to being abstract imagery.

Rockman- Strong first battle. Sigrid is a small ball of sass and your art style has tons of personality. You're going to do well here. Flytee- High quality stuff as always. Rae's story looks to be reaching a climax soon. She'll probably be okay...probably. Fyi, Saal doesn't offer refunds for restored memories.

TheCydork: Rockman -I also found it strange that Rae would so eagerly offer for the Soulweaver to be taken, because wouldn’t that mean Blue would disappear forever?. I'm genuinely not sure why you think Blue would disappear forever, she's been separated from Rae for a while and exists as an independent spirit. I was actually a lil surprised you took this logical leap, especially considering a Soulweavers Presence = Blue's presence isn't something I've ever established. TheCydork: I thought that might’ve been to show how desperate she was, but when she calms down a little she thinks about how the Soulweaver might hurt this random girl and not her best friend. Desperate and kinda manic was absolutely the vibe I was going for. She's just found out she was responsible for another girls death, so she's hyperaware of this kind of thing. To me, it felt like a logical thought process, though I do agree that the whole scene was abrupt. I originally wanted her to dwell on this train of thought more, but I had to cut the story so I could finish in time.

Rockman - Man, Sigrid is so frustratingly endearing XD You draw her dramatic, overconfident smiles so well, even though characters with big egos tend to irritate me, I find myself rooting for her anyway. Arquimedes too, something about the way he dutifully addresses her as “young miss” is just very sweet to me. I’m really curious how their interactions will change when he reveals the truth. Onto crits! The panelling here was an interesting experiment, but I don’t think it worked for this particular story. Since your style is quite simple and you didn’t colour this comic, having large panels emphasised the empty space and any wobbly lines you had. As for the writing, I found the way these two met weirdly convenient. The “mistaking eye patch for Power Eye” thing was funny and creative, but then it threw me off that Sigrid didn’t try to trap Rae for it. Rae just... happens to space out and wander into a deserted area that was perfect for Sigrid. Rae’s emotions also also seemed exaggerated to me. Accusing Sigrid, ripping her eyepatch off, begging after being hit, it all felt out of character. Still! This was a good effort for a first battle, and it was gutsy of you to go up against a character with such a plot-heavy archive, good job! Flytee - This was a great setup. I know you were worried about jumping ahead here, but I think it slotted in perfectly with Sigrid’s goal of soul-collecting! I love the Soulweaver’s characterisation, she’s fun in a fucked up sort of way. I can also definitely see an improvement in expressions and general fluidity! Rae’s expressions on pages 9 and 12, as well as the pose at the top of page 9, felt way more organic. Also enjoyed the funky layouts like on page 10. Crit time: I’m finding it really hard to describe this exactly, but the ending left me somewhat disappointed? It wasn’t anticlimactic - the story wrapped up quite nicely, beginning with the policemen calling specialists and Rae being caught by said specialists (hehe >:3) - but... I don’t know, the interaction with her and Sigrid felt a bit abrupt. Rockman - Holy smokes my dude, way to come out swinging!!! this was a really neat story that really highlights your characters and turns them up to an eleven. It is really neat to see how you used Rae and Blue in your comic. Well done indeed, win or lose be proud of this one my guy! Hopefully we get to see some more battles in the near future from ya! Flytee - I just love your economic use of colors in your stories, it really shows your strength in story telling and emphasizes implortant plot points in your story. You did a fantastic job here and incorporated Sigrid and Arquimedes well in your tale. This is awesome and I can't wait to see what is next for you and what is next for Rae

Rockman -- this was a great first battle I can't wait to see more from you in the future, good stuff. Flytee- You never disappoint, this was also great and is that a NDA foreshadowing I see coming, things are heating up, I wanna see more.

I absolutely loved your comic Flytee, you captured perfectly Sigrid and Arquimedes. Rae and Blue were such a fun characters to write, however, I want Rae to be happy in the future! Please tell us everything gets better for her after this TT_TT Also, sooo good seeing NDA at the end of your comic, NDA HYYYYPE!

Writing-wise it was all about trying to juggle the different story threads & make it ok to follow.
