I super enjoy of most voiders, you definitely make use of VC to stream and ask for feedback. It's definitely showing in your recent work and its a refreshing take on the general secrecy of comic creation in the community here. your handle of stylistic changes is super great and a great experiment in trying to keep them all thematically harmonious (Chinese brush painting, ancient cave paintings, Inuit art, Medieval English woodcut, etc) We didn’t just get told a story within a story, we stepped into the storybook and were immersed in this other world and style which is really cool. I highkey want this to be an artist comic that just explores the elements of this storybook. I must know more about potat cat's fate! I think the infinite scroll format could be better utilized. You start off with an inkbrush style, so it would’ve been cool to see that drop and flow panel to panel drawing the eye down, not so much giving an impression of dripping, but more of an inky bleed and trail. Like a...river? Stream of consciousness? What am I saying? XD There is still promise in this format I think is lost once we get to the ‘real world’ and the panels with Kai and Gold. They get rigid, contained, and need more room for elements to breathe (especially the book).

The children's storybook approach really works with this comic, and I love how you're experimenting with different brushes to do it! It's also good to get to know Kai a bit more, so I hope we get to see more of him in the future!

ArtsandGoodies: Finally I have a predictable lore question, where do furries fit into this lore and why do none of the animals turn into furries and just go straight to humans? Ahaha oh right, I forgot to answer this the other day. So basically, Gold and Kai are not Void natives, they came to Void later in their lives. The world they come from is similar to ours but with the presence of these shifters. Furries don’t exist in their world. They also transformed in the first place to fit in with humans, which would be redundant if they changed into animal people. However, I’m sure there would be others of their kind in Void who would be more comfortable in an anthro form, so furry shifters aren’t out of the question.

Oh! I was so impressed with this that I didn't realize I hadn't formally left a comment! That simplified storybook motif works so well. The images of the other animals reminded me a bit of the stylized imagery from the mythic prologue to Watership Down. I wonder if this means that cat people are region-specific. I also like the hint that Kai's relationship to his background may have something to do with tiger's relationship to cat, or that cat's role in the story may indicate expectations for other "cats."

I was part of the junkcast that discussed this comic so i just wanted to post the notes i had on this comic here; This is a good little bit of lore and feels like an actual child’s story. I love the style you use for the cat’s story, the texture/colors/ and brush all work well together. On the second page the style changes for the other animals mostly worked, but the third one lacks a texture and the colors are a bit too saturated that it doesn’t fit the style. For your figures you should practice showing the limbs sinking a bit into the cushions they’re on. You are doing some lines to indicate them sinking into the cushion but parts of their limbs would still be covered by it, so practicing that would be good to help sell that more. Finally I have a predictable lore question, where do furries fit into this lore and why do none of the animals turn into furries and just go straight to humans?

I really did enjoy the wholesomeness of this comic. I do like the painterly style you have on display here that you used for the story. I had loads of fun reading this one and I can't wait to see more in the near future my friend! I also like how this tale kinda delve a bit deeper into how shifters came to be and how their relationship with the humans were formed and stuff. it is always neat to read lore driven stories and hopefully we get to see more of Kai's adventures

An extremely charming comic, I enjoyed the soft painterly art style of the picture book- along with the style changes for different cultures later on. It was a creative idea that you executed really well! In terms of writing this was a lovely and engaging way to drop some folklore and backstory for Gold, seeing Kai and him interacting at the end was very sweet too. I just want them to be ok ;_;

This was a fun and pretty great style shift on your part. The story parts really do read like an old folktale. Definitely can tell you did your research in nailing the feel of a myth.

This was such a lovely read and a nice glimpse of Gold's past and family history. Love the interaction between the siblings, it is very heartwarming and relatable. The experimentation you did worked really well and the whole comic kept me interested all throughout both in visuals and words. Great job.

That ink style in the beginning was stunning! The lines were so flowy and soft, really liked it! Worked perfectly with the texture The silhouettes were very nice to look at too. The tiger watch was very very adorable- If anything, I think a change of lighting could benefit your work really well, the room's light seems almost as if it was the light of day and not in a room at night. Maybe playing with the colors of the whole panel could lift it up some? It was a great comic regardless, great job!

I love the style choices and big open panels in the first part! I could feel myself getting relaxed as I was reading it, so it really does read like a bedtime story. It stayed very engaging the whole time, and the animal designs were super killer. I think you did a great job varying up your shots from close up to far away, and showing a graphic style like this so enchantingly is super impressive! The only issues that came up were technical issues, like the perspective in the last few panels, and the anatomy of the character turning backwards to switch off the light. This did nothing to distract from the characters tho, and I got a really nice sense of how they act even though it was only a few panels at the end. You did a wonderful job with this!

This is great! It's super hard to sound unique and intense in a mythic style cuz classic mythology is so familiar, but you really pulled it off! The part with the eyes was really impactful, and the humans turning into humans to avoid persecution is a really dark and cool fantasy idea.

This started as experimenting with styles and brushes, but then I thought hey... I could use this... for Lore (TM). So I'm not looking for heavy crit, especially wrt the layout. I wasn't going for webtoon, in fact I don't really know what I was going for at all haha. It just Vibed for me. Hope you all enjoy! Also, I was very inspired by Inuit artist Kenojuak Ashevak for the bird panel on page 2. Highly encourage looking up her work!
