Last month or so I dug around so I could find and read Armageddon 2017; I didn’t really have the staying power to read the whole thing, but Wizzie caught my eye and I ended up going through most of her archive. And this comic was aces, I love it and keep coming back to read it again. I really enjoy your style and the textures you used here, the sepia tones for the page and lines, the use of colour in the background, the effects.. it’s just all so great and feels super polished. The writing is tight and I REALLY wanna know what’s happening with the wand and Wizzie’s powers and what’s gonna happen next! Super hype seeing the panels you posted in the chat and hope Part 2 is coming out soon :D
God I would buy a book of this lol I love everything about your style, love the shapes and lines and colours. I have like, NO crits and the ones I have are nitpicky. Like, how did you do that cool texture on the blacks? in a lot of spots I like it, but it some large areas it looks like I need to smack my TV. I love the way you draw tech, its like one part bullshit and one part looks like it actually serves some important function, a perfect blend lol. I still love magical Girl Wizzie- Lily would flip her shit with Joy to see it! This is an excellent story, action packed and vibrant and i cant wait to read the rest! Also: 100 years more Archie hes adorable I love him, make Mags draw him more =P
This is some really solid stuff, Hats. If I saw this in an indie book on the comic rack I’d buy it. The pacing and dialogue flow really nicely, and I don’t feel like the story is focusing in things it shouldn’t. Your cartooning skills are getting better and better. I’m not distracted by wonky expressions that don’t fit the emotion and the dialogue of the panels, all the characters are fully realized. (My favorite panel is wizzie desperately hugging mammon). I could nitpick your line art, but at this point you can probably tell areas that need attention. My main critique is the lettering. I wish the word balloons were white, it just makes the graphics not jump off the page like they should so you can read comfortably. I also think you could make your font a little smaller to give your art more room to breath.
The coloring on this is phenomenal. I really love how the whole pallet shifts to warm colors when the alarm goes off. The normal pallet you are using here looks like you could balance the colors a little more to tie the composition together, but it’s still super clean and well thought out.
Wizzie is still a bad ass bitch and only getting tougher with her stint in prison. I can’t wait to see the second half of this comic!
Everything about this is super awesome, I love your color choices and in particular i love the thing you do with your shadows in this, how did you do them? cause they all look pretty awesome.

Thank you for your kind words, especially about the retro look coz that’s definitelt what I go for. I mentioned way down in the comments but even though I didn’t set a deadline this wasn’t meant to be initially in two parts, things have come up in my life that need some attention right now, and I didn’t want this to end up shelved and wasted.

This is a beyond battle I started shortly after Magic Mayhem, co-wrote by myself and Wave.
Due to upcoming IRL events in September, I decided to split this comic in to 2 parts to give me some space to breathe and get my head together and reevaluate some things, I'm hoping for the second part to be complete by late autumn early winter.
