Knomer: I gave you the edge, man. Personally I prefer your style--if only because you used more values. Black/white/gray level contrasts are eyecatching and make scenes look tight, which is something kure didn\'t do enough of in my opinion. Also, your quality is pretty good--not so keen on guidelines being left in the picture, though; I think page 2 could have benefited from more attention, too, esp. in differentiating panels and adding more of that fabled dark/light contrast (it adds depth and interest, too, esp. in texture). Your moving figures are totally sweet--you can feel the energy there. I think your story could have used a little more thinking out. Just saying, \"oh, I need a rep, let\'s kick the crap out of some random kid\" isn\'t a catchy plot. The KO page was pretty friggin\' funny, though.

Kure: Like I said to Knomer, I wish you had used MORE values in your piece--at least make more definite (harder) lines to pull the characters into the fore. You did that excellently in some places--especially page one. If you\'d\'ve kept that up, you would have gotten the edge from me. I knocked your quality gradient down because of the poor cropping--you sliced page 4, and I could see your SKETCHBOOK RINGS on page 3. NOT COOL. Your marker work was also really streaky--and not in the way I would recognize as deliberate. Good spacing in your length; you paced very well. I enjoyed your story--you definitely got me there with entertainment. I like your scratchy style; reminds me of FLCL but not a rip-off. Keep up your natural style but add some more oomph to it with more black or those markers, man.

Kure, I\'d just like to note that you have unneccesary comments at some points.  Example: \"I had to ask...\" on the second page.  The expression should be able to say it all.

Res, I like your layout what with the panels being more \"stacked.\"  The second page was a bit hard to understand what exactly was going on; it\'s sort of a jumble of action.  I was able to figure it out after another, slower look, though.

Both entrie\'s art looked on the sketchy side, but I think it worked more in Kure\'s case as his style is more cartoonish. Also Kure\'s layout and storytelling were more clear. Res\'s was rather confusing in cluttered.

On the story side, Kure has the clear win. The writing gave the characters more life. Res\'s made them seem like just two guys who want to fight. Kure\'s also had more humor.
