This is so beautiful- the colours are amazing, and i absolutely LOVE how you depicted his necromancy- the 3D outline effect around the skeletons to make them stand out, the way touching a bone showed him where it came from... makes me wanna steal this for Lily XD That creature was really cool and that panel where hes bursting out at talon is FANTASTIC. No crits only HEAPS OF PRAISE. I missed Talon and I love seeing your comics!!

Badger!
This is gorgeous! the craftsmanship leaves nothing to be desired!
The mark making and line quality, the weight of figures, the flow of the pages: esp page 8. I am so v. impressed. esp the color pallets are nice, and page one has it the best with the way the blades of grass reflect the different tones of light in a gradient. the colors are so subtle yet still so colorful. page 10, where the monster breaks through the panel, I suppose to show how it's covered more distance than it seems like it should have been able to, is also v. impressive.
You started off strong on page 1 telling us a ton about everything we need to know about this world. And yet, you omit any sign that this is a historical world or just a provincial town. no hints other than fashion choices and social interactions to feed those questions.
your story is so subtextual. there is the major conflict of finding and killing the monster: but you make us care about why that matters with everything being left unsaid. Mordicai would be chased out of town if the monster continues its rampage. why should that matter?
Because there's someone here who loves him. Deacon. You don't say it, but you can tell by their interactions that they're close. and you don't say it, but you can tell that Talon would do a lot for Deacon. you simply subtly SHOW us what they're about. even the way Talon leaves Deacon behind and fights the monster after being asked not to: and esp. the way Deacon begrudgingly forgives Talon by the end. oh and don't think i didn't notice how Talon brought home the claws. just the way you place them in the final panel tells us those were a gift for Deacon. lol. a peace offering maybe?
WHO IS DEACON? like the world building being told to us by how many books are on the shelf and how lived-in the town looks, all I get is a contact impression of him. he definitely knows about Talon's curse but isn't afraid of him at all. is he trying to help him find a cure? they sure seem to compliment each other. 👀👀👀👀

I love this, and not just because I love necromancers (tho it's certainly a factor...). The coloring is beautiful, I especially liked the blues used on page 7. The story was paced well, and Talon's curse was demonstrated really well. It's a good example of show don't tell. Overall really great work Badger!

This looks fantastic Badger! Is this some delicious backstory for the saddest boy?

I love how this comic can still be isolated and enjoyed as a short story regardless of the loose canon of Void or the comic battles starring Talon. Even those not intimately familiar with Talons deathly curse can infer that it's tied to his necromancy somehow. And the colours are really wonderful I loved them.

Was a pretty fun read! I would like Tick to meet them at some point for some reasons lol
And supernatural stuff? Good shit right there! Need more of that.
