It's so hard to critique this comic because it's so well done. The art is incredible, the attention to detail really makes the world feel real, and I love your use of color here. The references to 2013 events didn't affect your score, but they definitely won you more points in my heart. Way to play on my nostalgia (and also way to rip off my idea of bringing back Hiemie shit lol).
I think if I had one thing to crit, it's that it could have used more long shots, especially once Clydesdale realized he was the only one left. It's fine to have a lot of close ups because this entire comic is centered around what's going on in his head, and the close ups make it feel very personal. But I would have liked to see, for example. a shot of the entire theater with a teeny tiny Clydesdale all alone instead of the close up of his face we got.
Other than that, I've read this multiple times and just can't get past the fact that this is better than a lot of professional comics quality-wise, and the story really hits hard in the context of these characters' history. I know there are always ways to improve, but at this point those ways might be things I haven't learned yet myself haha.
Awesome work, and I can't wait to see what you do with Maddie the Mule next!

This was a visually stunning comic, and even having not read Hiemie's comics, I had so many emotions from the end of it! I loved the mood of the entire comic and how the colors reflected it, I'd love to see more.

I loved everything about this comic, the art, the writing, all top-notch, this was aspirational stuff.
Oh & that last line was the finishing blow to my heart.

An absolutely haunting and somber story in the best ways.
A pitch perfect epitaph for the characters and tribute to the before fore times of void.

Hey thanks for the words everyone, I just wanted to make sure to drop credits real quick - I was playing layouts, writer, and colorist, Kozispoon did the pencils and inks, and we both chipped in and touched up bits and pieces. I'll respond later on, but since it was very late I didn't get a proper chance to write that down.

This is one of the best comics I've seen on here, no hyperbole.
The pace. The paneling. The typesetting. All the little things, the details, the surroundings were alive and told their own story. The Meteor reveal was fantastic. You know i love stuff that ties back to earlier days as well, so this was delicious. Fucking amazing.

This was damn near perfect. Not only was the art lovely and the writing great, but the layouts, bubbles, font and textures just worked together so well to enhance the story. I’d have given this a 10 in quality if I hadn’t noticed the errors on page 4 (some overshot lines and a chunk of tile lacking colour). But I did give a 10 in entertainment
I absolutely love the ruined cityscape, especially the cinema. It’s just... such a potent choice of imagery, for both Clydesdale and the audience I think, to see a place of entertainment so wartorn. Clydesdale himself is also drawn in a really pleasing way - I know part of it is his design as a toon, but idk there’s something about how round his shapes and lines are that makes things all the more dystopian. This soft cartoon amidst the horror. I love the slow gradient transition and “camera rotation” as Clydesdale realises his fate and drops his hammer on page 7 (also, great sound effect). The splash page immediately after is fantastic in terms of lighting and framing. The grid format works really well for the page after that. And the ending, hooooo. You know the writing is damn good when I feel for a character I have literally never seen before. And I think that plays nicely into my next point - like Fluff, despite not knowing the Deep Void Lore (TM), this worked on its own and was totally clear to me.
In conclusion, this slaps, amazing job both of you! I am Terrified and Excited to see what you produce in Lovechild!

Even without knowing void beyond 2020 this was still It was still a wonderful comic, it made me want to look back and see how many nods to past comics I could spot.

I had a pretty rough outline but no real time to script and write all the dialogue (until the last few hours until upload, truth be told) and so I kept it in my head as I made some layouts and tried to color everything full color as Kozi inked in good time. There's definitely places that could have had stronger improvements and some that we're pretty happy with.
Overall, we're hopeful that we produce something that is entertaining as well for the Lovechild Tournament. Thanks again.
