damn both of you for getting out such good comics in such little time, like. damn. Give me half of your speed. plz. I need it.
ANYWAYS
Cab: So jazzed to see Craven and Dario again! Maybe it's because I was in Invitationals with these two but they've always held a special place in my heart and I miss seeing comics of em. I wanna know more about what they've been up to!! This was a fun lil blurb of a story, and I loved the comedy bits you tossed in
I also liked the quotes from the Rip Van Winkle story itself, that was a neat nod! Art-wise, I think sometimes the textures you use can be a bit much, kind of muddying the lineart; page 6 was especially bad with this imo. A lot of times you use halftone dots to indicate things being darker, when I think they might be better served just being a solid gray color tbh!
Monday: Damn and you went right for the gut punch huh. I knew right from the get go where this was gonna head when Rip befriended Craven (side note, love the comment about all the rich families training their kids to fight, that sounds like some Dystopian Bullshit which is great). I think your biggest downfall in this comic was the sheer number of close-up shots; I've only got a vague idea of where everything is taking place, and sometimes the extreme close-ups make it hard to tell what's happening in a given panel--for example, I'm still not entirely sure what's going on in page 7 other than something quacks which somehow leads to Rip's death, thereby resetting himself so he can try to stop Craven from dying. That said, even though it's just a summation of text on black bg, I really like the little blurb on page 11. Really drives home the desperation and how hard he tried
I will agree though that while I got that it was supposed to be kind of poetic, the plucking of a single bone from Rip's arm coupled with the statement that it was his one innocent bone kind of threw me; mostly, left me wondering if there was supposed to be some significance to that particular bone, or why *that* one was supposedly innocent, which then led me to wonder why all his innocence was in that bone; symbolically speaking, the bone from an arm wouldn't have been innocent cuz it's attached to the hands with which he does dirty work... and I know this is nitpicky lol, so I'll leave off with saying that despite that I enjoyed the story hehe
(also the only thing I could come up with was that was his *humerus* and his sense of humor was the only innocent part of him lol)

These were really fucking strong for 24 hours. Goddamn.
Monday: Fucking loved it man. Your grip of interesting narrative focus is always a treat. For what is worth, i had no problem following what was going on, it was pretty straightforward to me. The "Attempts that fail" approach is one of my favorite tropes for timetravel so I really loved what you did here.
Cab: Funny as shit, very nicely inked, especially with the time constraints. Solid all around, the bickering was very amusing.

Cy: Something something visual metaphors about innocent bones and contracting with spirits. That page was more or less rushed [like the rest of the entire comic] Thanks for the crit !
Kozi:
We're working round the clock to develop empathic techniques that will help bridge the narrative gap of understanding to more than (5) five audiences !!
[note: I think working 24H forced me to really simplify my approach so I'm going to see what I can do from there ! Thanks for pointing me to pocketmouse's direction >:3]

You both did amazingly for a 24 hour battle, holy shit.
Cab - This is probably one of my favourite comics from you. I’m not sure what it is, but I like the two different timelines overlapping, and the cameos were interwoven with the story here and worked well. I also like how you stylised Rip!
Monday - You already make me feel so sorry for Rip on the first page
Honestly this was just really well done, a fully realised story that I was able to follow clearly. Pretty poignant, and I love the way you draw Rip as so young-looking but so clearly haunted. The only thing I didn’t really get was the last two pages, why his bone needed to be taken out.

I honestly think you guys stayed up the entire 24 hours in order to make these comics, hot dayum.
MONDAY- I'm so blown away by actually including backgrounds and a glimpse of dues way off in the nearby cityscape. Your style of art which is less details and more shade values really gets the intention across in a way that's effortless but also intricate.
It's no secret that I'm either not the audience for your comics, or they're so obscure by way of storyline I just find myself too thrown to pick up on the theme. I know your character contends with time travel, dying and coming back and going through loops, but I certainly wish there was a more straightforward path to follow or barring that, visual storytelling that helps orient the reader in some fashion. I think of pcoketmouse and her character Merrick who also deals with fucky time travel, but I've never felt lost reading those comics. Gosh, maybe I'm just ultra smooth brained, IDK XD

You fucking lunatics just looking at the page count on both of these is crazy and you both did a fantastic job on that alone doing some much in 24 hours is mind boggling.
Edit: read it all and Monday I am blown away and speechless at how much you did and how good it is, not just one day good but really top quality. this has a great story great humor and is all really clear. This has become one of favorite comics of the year.

I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing on the last 7 pages. Cab is crazy for attempting to make 3 point backgrounds in this economy, I'm pretty jealous.

Anyway, this was a mindblowing showing from both of you. Congrats! That must've been one hell of a day. I hope you got to rest afterwards xD
Cab- I'm SO happy to see a Craven comic!!
Monday- You were just showing off with this one. Nicely done!
