Man, I can't even think of any decent critiques for either of these. They were both kickass!
Red: I love the visuals on this, and the layout was so so cool. Great job on the lighting, too, Imma have to try doing that myself sometime
Chimaeric: I loved the story on yours! And as others have mentioned, there were some real kickass lines. You also had a really great use of shadow/light!!

Both of these were fantastic comics.
Red: I love your colors and you always make the best SDT characters. Evelin has a great attitude and i like the whole set up with the world of darkness.
Chimaeric: This is a great comic and something I will study, I love your use of lines to make shading. Also your faces and shapes are great. Also you had a really good set up story for this.

@Cydork: There wasn't any contradiction in Knife-Eater's goals. She wants to be loved, just not by "voyeurs" as it was presented in the comic. Her linguo is borrowed from the life she just left which was that of a social media star- here Knife-Eater is undergoing a change, but change isn't always so drastic where a character begins speaking differently.
@Bobo: I notice that typesetting and grammar are still my weakpoints, since i recall this issue from previous fights. It's definitely something I should put more attention towards, but this is probably a consequence of a bad habit of doing dialogue and text boxes on the very last day of a battle.
as fro writing, I'm using a formula based on a hypothesis i created for SDT that maximizes character value through the killing of a character. in a specific way I won't go into detail of what this formula consists of because explaining it will ruin the magic of it, but I promise to describe in full sometime after SDT, so others can test my hypothesis.
Thanks to all who has read the first round. Hopefully I learned something and replicate the process i used this round again for R2.
@Red: Red you are the only person i fought more than twice, therefore it is fate that we fight again in the future and perhaps future lives. I wanna thank you for being my opponent and the opportunity you gave me to create story.

Red: Choice opening! You have a really amazing balance of simplified shapes and rendered drawings. Extremely stylishly executed comic, but... The killing blows were amazing, but somehow I felt something was missing from their battle.
Chimaric: Wow, how cinema- Oh. This is an interesting theme, a performer ever mindful of the audience, both craving and living for it, but also annoyed by it in many ways.
Both are excellent, stylish comics. Red's I think had great, to the point visual and dramatic flair, but I think Chimaeric takes the point for getting both characters very established for what will be the final battle for one of them.

what an amazing battle, It totally lived up to my expectations when I saw this matchup.
Both of these comics were dripping with style. I dig the vivid neon colouring in red's comic, it instantly stands out from the crowd...and there's just something about Chimearic's off-kilter, dynamic style that i'm in love with.
I can't get enough of these two
Chimearic's won out for me, thanks to the beefier story/character interactions that come with this kinda page count. Its really impressive. I adored both of these though, really inspiring stuff.

That ending line is one of the best in void history. "Murder isnt sport, Murder is Church"? That shit right there is delish.
Chimearic: Great pacing, fantastic expression fantastic climax/writing.
Red: Your technicolor brightness is hella inspiring.
ITs a shame one of you have to fall this early in the tourny.

Red - Oooh I’m a fan of this bright neon palette! The first page was beautiful and overall I liked the style. I wish there was a bit more setup to the fight though. The way the pair speak to each other and how Antares reacted at the thought of dying implied a deeper story to me that didn’t quite come through. The poses on page 4 also didn’t read as fighting stances - if you took away the blood, the expressions and the tension (or lack thereof) in the limbs say dancing to me tbh.
Chimaera - Okay, woah. I loved your half, I think it’s my favourite comic this round. Your style is very nice, I love the charcoal-esque effect you use for backgrounds, and the story was great. The reveal that Knife-eater was taking Antares to a private place to murder her, damn. And I honestly forgot Antares was your character, because Knife-eater was depicted so well visually and story-wise (the way you draw her tusks and body is *chef’s kiss*).
There was a huge contradiction in your story though that left me really confused. The whole time, Knife-Eater goes on about wanting to leave Kill Club and not wanting to be watched by people, and spending most of the comic trying to find somewhere without cameras... but then talks about wanting to be loved and famous, finding a new network, and not hiding in the shadows. A panel or so later she switches back to “not wanting to hound for likes” and starting her new life. So which is it? Does she want to be watched or not?
