Radji: Your drawings of characters are super strong! This comic was visually easy to read. There are a few nitpicks wit your use of assets such as your textures, which are s u p e r l o w r e s and this really stands out as detrimental against the cleancut lines of your characters. The other part that was distracting from the flow of the comic was the suddenly very orange sparkles. These could easily been brought more in line with the colours of the rest of the comic and not been jarring. The top half of your first panels bg looks great- but then it looks like you got bored of adding flavour for the rest of the comic :p Try to keep it up and trim out some of the fat from your writing to give you more time to focus on this in future. Writing wise this story didn't feel very fresh and it would be good to see you experiment with more subtlety in your later works.
Hellis: Ah these colours are starting to come together! This story was sweeter as a contrast to Radjis. the colours on your top panels on page 1 and two work great, as the characters pop against the less saturated bgs. If you ever want any colour pointers feel free to hmu and I'll do my best The shading looks good on your characters but is quite missing from a lot of the bgs, some simple gradients would help add depth if you're in a rush next time. This length of story is a good choice, so I hope we see more of this from you.
Thanks for two good finished comics chaps! Really great stuff from both of you for a two-weeker

Gonna be honest, kinda irked how little Mol is actually present in both of these. Not a line of dialogue, and only actually visible for two panels in Radji's.
That said, actual critique.
Radji: Your style worked wonders for melding with the greys and browns you used, dynamic and expressive in and out of action scenes. It looks really good.
Your characterization of Gale and Kao5 felt solid and they felt like distinct personalities. Mol not so much. She could have been anyone. And after sitting on it a bit, the story is definitely the weakest part. Why did the potion give her a dick. Why is she introduced trying to chase down and rape a minor. It was uncomfortable to the point that none of the humor came through.
Hellis: Your lines are slowly getting better, but they still feel sketchy. Smoothing them out will do wonders. Your colors are coming along better, a little more focus on shading variation and you'll be golden. Also, don't be afraid to play with the camera! Show us those angles! Use perspective to your advantage to set the mood.
Your story has kinda the same issue as Radji's where Mol could have been easily swapped with anyone, since the whole comic is about Kao5 having a drink and a lay. It was nice to see her have a pleasant night, though, so props for that.

Radji: Digging that berzerker rendering, and how cute Kao5 is. He's a professional. Great physical comedy throughout. I did find the opening dialog a little confusing, though, concerning who was saying what.
Hellis: A nice vignette, though I'm not sure exactly why these two hit it off so well, and whether it had any connection to the street preacher who got multiple panels on page one. I guess they'd bond over mutual antagonism from prrachers, but this looks like a love at first sight deal.

Radji: High Impact Sexual Violence! This is one of the most pleasant grayscales i've seen in a long time, there's such a good balance between shades, and a ton of strong blacks. To be honest, your palettes are usually more varied but this makes me think you should try for more simpler palettes, they could look really incredible. Now, the story here is fun and crazy, but I do agree, I think mol kinda got shafted here, and there are some frightening implications regarding her needing to rape someone to undo her transformation. But you did admittedly keep it lighthearted.
Hellis: This is very pleasant. I really like the moody lighting that you employed here, and you really allow the art to speak for itself. Admittedly, there's not much Mol here, or even much Kao5, it feels less like a comic about these two characters and more about a chance encounter with two random people, but in a way that also is commendable.

So l-lewd...
@radji wow. like wow? ?? wow? to be honest the art is great and i understand the plot but i dont think mol is actually that careless. I do appreciate you using gale though. your sound effects are splendid, as usual and i liked the monochrome here. the kao5 sparkle effect got a big ol' giggle outta me.
@hellis you know what! I appreciate how positive this was, even though it would have been nice to see a bit more of them interacting beyond a one-night stand. (but i think that might just be personal preference?) i can tell you've been practicing some of your posing, so that's good to see.

Poor Mol doesnt get any dialogue in like either of these she just gets fucked XD
radji: you nailed furry art pretty quickly! the way you draw kao5 is really appealing! I always love the action and energy of your comics, theyre very vibrant and alive. I am concerned that Mol's role in this not only was just a rapey sex monster, but also the implication at the end that a win from you would promise to expect comics of a similar theme =\ You didnt really write a comic about the character you were assigned so I hope you''ll do better next time.
hellis; you write a great kao5! i think you really got a sense of him! Mol felt sort of replaceable though, like you could have swapped her with literally anybody and made the same comic, which is sort of too bad. I dig the experimentation with mood colours, the bar and Mol's room were the best. Nothing really of note happened in this story but it was a nice little day in the life insight.

A not on bias:
I’m so damn tickled to see such wonderful work done with Kao5 that I’m not going to be able to offer much of a critique, so these will be shorter than my usual.
Radji
First off, I absolutely adore the style of this comic. Everything from the anatomy/proportions to the hard shadows to the shifting perspectives, this is visually a treat in every way.
Page 4 boiling down to “sex IS my superpower†definitely made me crack up. Better yet, I think that you did a really great job of showing a more playful side to Kao5, particularly with the banter on page 1.
It does all come off as a bit contrived, though, in a pretty hilarious way so that’s hardly much of a quibble.
The bigger problem, I think, is that this seems more about the roommate (Gale?) than Mol. I mean, Mol-the-monster is definitely a force of action, the more interesting interaction is between Gale and Kao5.
Hellis
What a delightful little “a night in the life†comic. I think you did a really excellent job of capturing some of Kao5’s insecurities, but also the joy and hope that he gets from his chosen profession.
Like the other comic here, I feel like Mol/Milla gets a bit of short shrift here. She certainly acts as a turning point for Kao5, but I don’t know if there is anything particularly about her that is involved. A bit of something more, a touch of her magic, or even some of her internal monologue to contest his, might go a long way towards making her feel like more of a force in the story.
Also, I need to steal that “Make me Purr†shirt.

RADJI: OH LOOK THERE'S TYIDID THANKS!! I'm glad to see this full blown sex sequence, unlike Hellis' comic, is not even slightly NSFW, so I can show it to all my friends and family. It looks great! Nicely composed and the action really works and everything. Even if "Sex cat, the only way to resolve this conflict is sex" is a bit transparent as far as plot devices go!
Hellis: I dunno, nothing really did it for me here. I'm a bit lost on what the evil religious man getting arrested is supposed to allegorize, and the pre-sex panels felt really unintimate to me. I guess it's because you chose some really distant shots to take of them, alienating the reader, when they really ought to be closer to mimic Kao and Mol's attraction?

it's odd that the one with the NSFW thumbs is actually far safer than the one without!
Radji: This is your typical Radji-brand funny comic, it doesn't break any new ground in the narrative department but there's some nice artwork and angles here, so good job with those~
Hellis: I like how quiet but unexpectedly thoughtful this comic is. It left me at the end pondering Kao5's mindset and world view and that's to be applauded. You're practicing different color settings here, understand that you'll probably get more out of it by actually picking the different color schemes rather than a basic overlay-style color drop, keep experimentin with this stuff

As for Mol's actions, while in a berserk state, same, it sorely lacks at least one more page. Of course, I could simply say that "everything will be explained in round 2 yadda yadda" but I think it's a direct consequence of my losses in previous tournaments. I always was slow to introduce the pivotal element of my story arcs. But here it was well, rushed.
I hope i'll better handle the second Round
Bravo to hellis: you prove that even with few pages, you could say a deeper story ^^
