MAUIMICROWAVE- Wowza! Two battles from you back to back! super ambitious ,so I totally doff my hat to you, but the time crunch really took its toll on this battle. your line quality was all kinda crazy and all over the place, but that said, I oddly didn't mind it? Your loosey goosey inks kind of went with all the madcap action and gritty nature of your tale. I'll be the first to admit technically and quality wise, your comic suffered, but I for one definitely offer points for enjoyment of the ride.
Most battles tend to be either bad or good, so your side had me conflicted as it seems to be a mix of both. I think upon a second read through of both battles, you had the more engaging fast paced story and really cool payoff. I mean, the scar doled out here felt seriously like old void come back again. So visceral, so freakin' dark! I dunno if you made up that morbid rhymes up, but I think it worked really well. That panel break in action when he just tears Gwen's eye out bit by bit had me cringing which I think is exactly what you wanted your readers to do! The off the wall humor appealed to me to which really makes Killjoy someone you love to hate. That gag on pge 12 when he just pops in agreeing they should get him had me laughing. He's a stinker and I for one am loing him. I think you got quite a villainous career ahead of you with this character. Wanna see more, but definitely wanna see your best. I hope you don't overtax yourself by taking on too much and having aspects of your comic suffer for next time.
GREGLY- If there was one thing that stood out to me for your comic it had to be your dialogue. Killjoy's dialogue just felt so wooden. Gwen and Regi have such cool personalities and a more natural exhchange and Killjoy felt like an old 70's super villain. I'm unsure as to whether or not that was your intent, but the little we have seen of Kiljoy, and his dark humorous charm, to me, felt like it was missing.
I do have to admit of the two, yours really visually lovely. That opening scene with Gwen and Regi in pursuit through the city was really great- way to pay attention and give some love to your backgrounds. Definitely appreciatedthe enviorment you had your fighters in as opposed to a vacuum. The ol' marker look and Killjoys neat almost Marvel comics costume reinterpretation I think drove home your Saturday morning cartoon feel, despite the arm rippy darker twist. Speaking of, way to hide that scar until the grisly reveal at the end. The sound effects and off screen gore I think left me imagining much darker scenes than I think anyone could've ever drawn. It was a good tactic of allude and don't show. Not to mention it really fit with your whole aesthetic for Gwen and Regi without them looking like total D-bags. They are truly lawfully good!

My word this was brutal.
Mauri: Yo man this is actually pretty good. My biggest complaint is the page sizes are like really really huge and hard to navigate since I have to scroll around and stuff. Other than that, just stuff I've mentioned before like stronger gestures for certain actions, though they are actually better here. Also, try getting some proofreading going here to correct grammatical errors or improve the fluidity of dialogue. Good work.
Gregly: Is pretty good here too. Be careful with these markers, though, because the dry lines you were going with creates texture. There are panels where Regi looks like a turd. Like, really. I can't unsee it. This effect is reallty good for those flashy effect backgrounds though. You might want to adjust some levels and colours, though, since there are many panels where the characters are lost in the backgrounds because they are of a similar saturation or tone. Be careful.

maui - Those pages are a tiny bit too big. And the backgrounds are a little "empty" looking.
greg - nice effort with the traditional coloring, although more shading would probably be nice.

Usually the loser of a scar match's character is put into retirement until you update their design sheet with the scar shown. Its personally up to you how you depict your character's scar as long as you acknowledge what the scar actually is.

aye yeah interesting scar match you two!
Microwave:
YOU KNOW ALREADY so i'm gonna just pick out some junk that's good that you should keep for next time
I really like how you stylise your own character, especially the handling on the cute nose and gross teeth. I hope we get to see more of that. Good use of Malkin in your story, too!! The action poses look great, so I'm really looking forward to your next battle- can't wait to see how you pull everything together.
Gregly: YES so glad to see you back, and what a comeback! Your pacing is pleasing as always, and it's great to see you doing a scar match. I think this time your markers were a little dry, but considering the limitations of the medium you picked out some decent colours. It's possible your scanner is bumping the reds up, or maybe it was just the markers you used, but it might be an idea to reduce the reds and maybe saturation digitally next time. (If your markers are dying and dry, try getting some cheapass vodka involved. It should dilute the ink, so the intensity of the colour will drop, but they should dry out smoother. Even if it doesn't work out, you can drink your troubles away.)
Good lil scar match dudes, well done!!

Wave- These pages are too big, yo! I have to zoom out to 75% to fit the whole page. I'm gunna start with the last page because "They seem to be fine, no broken bones. But Gwen's eyes were taken-" is really odd. Like, they're totally fine EXCEPT HER EYES ARE GONE no big deal. That's an issue you have with dialog in the comic in general. Like- Page 2 "It says that he murdered his family, which was a pretty big deal down at Nowhere-" like is it not a big deal for everywhere ever?? Also you have 180* problems which could be fixed with over all better staging.
Gregly- I'm happy to see more Gwen and Regi! These backgrounds are looking good, but I wish this was done digitally (it would maybe help with some of the messiness). The ending is pretty fucking rad- that shot in general (the blood especially) looks great. I want to erase those red ghost lines though >:C
I love Regi just holding up the disembodied arm. Your dialog is always the best thing about your comics and I always adore them.
edit: you know gregly, the more i look at your comic the more it being traditional doesn't bother me. maybe next time do some water coloring? like do a limited palette- nothin fancy nothin fancy- just to try it out!

Gregly: This looks really great, it's one of the better looking comics I've seen from you! I think you should keep developing in this direction and see where it leads you!
Good job guys keep it up
