Cheers pals for the comments! Always good to see some feedback.

Wei: so could you point out which panels/pages are good and which are bad? I have been experimenting with this a bit lately and just kinda trying to find my feet. I do actually spend a LOT of time planning the pages, maybe overthinking it. Though retrospectively I think that the little panels work better for moment to moment transitions I guess and not so much in other places... And thanks for compliments on the "death visions", this is the way I usually work and I guess it shows haha (btw I am really looking forward to the monsters thing :D)

Kozi: <3

Stefan: Thanks for the fight! I agree with the watercolor stuff that Wei said, I think the main thing is to play with the settings when you are scanning it (like, I never use the automated simple scan shiz) cos they are waaaaaay oversaturated. There's a lot of brush strokes visible too which can be a nice feature when done right but I think they are a bit overpowering? Like I think that watercolors don't always have to be faint delicate flat washes, quite the opposite. Check out Tony Sandoval for some stunning brushy ones (he is like my no1 at the moment ;))

reviewing my earlier comments I see that I forgot to mention to FERN how much I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the visual styles for the 'visions' her character was having......and I wanted to clarify that there are some really nicely executed panels(and very nicely plotted out pages)....some panels that would be better served with less more varied strokes(here is where the practice is needed)....and some that are just a little too thrown together or rushed

..and in response to STEFAN....the lettering does work quite well visually in conjunction but is at times a bit of a strain to actually read....just practice a bit with it

Grats on the win, Fern! I just realized I left my critique open on my laptop and never pressed send. Ultimate derp!

FERN- Poor burnt head Lophii. :< Still, I really like the weight of the first page showing off that battle damage. Maybe its just me, but I wish a bigger panel was dedicated to it, just for pacings sake, but I'm just being picky at this point. There's really not much tocomplain about with this comic. Your inks are funky fresh and on point. The visage of death on page 3 is breathtaking. I especially liked her spooky fish phasing through the wall to chomp on that poor doctor as well. Dat Lophii can't catch a break- even with newfound love. That one's touched in the head, she is.

Definitely a well deserved win. Super dig!

STEFAN- Looks like this comic got away from you and that's too bad. you opened with such a fantastic second page I expected that quality to show throughout. Your dynamic angles and really fabulous colors are truly eyecatching :D I may just be dim since I didn't really follow the story you were trying to tell, but that may just be because this wasn't quite finished. Better luck next time, bro

Wei:
THANK YOU ,
for taking the time to comment/critique our work.

I totally agree on the Vibrant colors issue, and the inconsistency, with the colors over the pages.
problemn was that the stuff was drawn on A3 papers, due to the fact i wanted to use watercolors and acrylics this time around,
so i wasn't able to scan it in ,but had to take photo's of each page and after editted the colors here and there
(wich you already mentionend..good eye ! ;))
btw,i am using burshpens for most of the time, but due to the water coloring, the ink got affected by it !
i pushed myself to do it traditional so i would leearn stuff about the medium, and that i did hahaha.
i will keep an eye on the hand writing, altho i do think its fits alot better with my artwork, then digital fonts .

anyway again, thanks for your time ,..On to the Next !

OK...so before I begin with what will be a relatively brief critique I just want to say to both of you that what each of you are doing here you both need to keep doing and doing often.....there is a lotta good stuff here and the majority of my complaints would be addressed by you doing so

FERN: keep working at your control and line widths....focus on how you are representing and not just getting it on the page...less can be more...plot out your panels and layouts a bit more beforehand

STEFAN: try using a brushpen, brush or quill pen for your lines instead of a micron.....practice your lettering and make it a happy medium between style and legibility....reduce your colour palette....the colours are all over the place(which I think has more to do with after you scan it)....muddy them up a bit or at least reduce the vibrancy of your yellows

really visually/technically exciting stuff both of you

Would you say Karma is more a Steven Seagal or angsty Keanu Reeves? I am torn, but swaying towards angsty Keanu...
