Got recommended this comic by Kozi and boy is it a good one. Slapping this in my recs for sure!

Pocketmouse - This is such a rad scar, and I love how you drew Christopher! I liked you explanation of time travel and how the consequences work, and that you gave you opponent a potential out that still has major consequences and intrigue they could use later. Poor Chris ;;

Crafty - I looove this watercolour. Love how you drew Chris too, his body is so fluid and aesthetically appealing. The scar was hella gruesome too, though I did find the story overall confusing.

POCKETMOUSE- Hoooly crap. Talk about heavy! You know, time travel has always been sort of a wibbly wobbly thing you never see handled well, especially in comics, but I think this story went along in a simple, straightforward and fascinating way. You really dedicated yourself to telling your opponents story in a way you saw fit and that really stands out. Not to mention this has gotta be up there as one of the most unlikely and interesting scars on Void yet. You really didnt pull any punches! Here's hoping we see more of Merrick messing with fighters lives and timelines.

CRAFTY- I stumbled here from Pocketmouses' deviantART page, and I'm so glad I did! I must've totally missed this battle somehow. Nothing like falling into a void battle you missed only to find it super lovely. Your colors and inks really were striking. Reminded me alot of those old school childrens books. The kind you see on reading raindobw. Your flow and sense of movement in your art really make everything feel like it was moving. I don't think I saw a rigid rulered straight line in there and am happy for it.
I gotta admit I was a bit lost as to why Christopher suddenly went from helpful to feral and attacking. I can only guess on account of a scar needed to happen. I dunno, I'll have to give it another read  to ensure I didn't miss anything.

Damn, that's one heavy burden of a scar for Christopher...

Wow, you guys!

I'm at work, so I don't have time to do an in-depth critique, but I really loved both of these. The raw energy and living colors in both of these comics just blew me away! For 2 weeks, I'm freaking amazed that you both managed to get this much done without any unfinished pages! Of course, I use that word a little loosely, because both of your comics felt like the art could have been tightened up one way or another—PoMo, your linework felt rough compared to a lot of your other stuff; Crafty, your sketchy style pushed over the boundary into messy quite a few times throughout the comic, making it hard for me to distinguish various shapes and figures from each other. But what really impressed me was the strength of both of your stories and your storytelling abilities. I could easily see either of these comics turn into an entire webcomic series or graphic novel, and I would pick it up in a heartbeat. You've left me aching for more!

Crafty - I super adore you, and I want to be like you when I grow up. Woo. I am a sucker for watercolors, I love your take on Christopher, and everything just seemed so moody and washed out. I found the story a bit confusing as far as, is the dude there to kill him? Or just trying to find out for himself and can't believe that Christopher needs to be put down or whatever? I'm not a fan of the first panel on page 2, it's good to have an establishing shot and backgroundy things, but I found it hard to get a good feel of the area, just cause like, it seems really busy and congested almost, but then the next panel seems a bit of a barren wasteland, so it's a bit of an environmental whiplash? I mgiht be explaining this terribly. And I looove the last page, with all that white space. So solemn.

Pocketmouse - The story was confusing for me, but I love your take on that it's more an emotional scar, so great. I found the art to be pretty blocky and maybe you were going for a darker mood, but with all the thick black lines, and all the dark dark colors it was just sort of messy and muddy looking? But it also made it seem really bleak, so it worked both for and against you.

Okay I'm back.

(You still have one of the most adorable usernames and it makes me happy every time I read it. eee)
First of all, I think the way you draw Christopher is adorable. He looks so fluffy and adorable and aaaaaah. Luv it.
Your expressions are definetely something that I thought was spot on. Chris flailing and Merrik doing silly faces often.
Your inking is pretty good on the characters, and the backgrounds look really good as well.
I am surprised all you could get in just 2 weeks. Impressive!
My only nitpick would be dialogue. And it is obviously a stupid reason, but I felt punctation marks were either missing or there were too many. Again, just a stupid nitpick.
I thought the story was fucked up and I liked it a lot: For a Scar Match, this "scar" was pretty gruesome and managed to break Chris even more.
I'll have to agree with Shen and that perhaps Chris acted WAY too sad and cowardly. I liked your interpretation, but I think Manticore friend has definetely more pent up anger than sadness.

P.D. WAAUR is an incredibly good Sound Effect.
P.D.D I demand this to become a brotp.

You're getting better. It can be seen. And I love being witness of these Improvement Jumps you tend to make from time to time.
It's fantastic, really.
Beautiful watercolors, pretty backgrounds. Cute characters and hnnng.
Feral Christopher looks badass too, he grew so much. eee. Oh and fluffy too. He's so upset though, I could only see him smile in one pannel.
I was a bit confused by the action scenes though. Right now I can just assume the uploader messed up and there are pages missing. If not, I apologize for being dumb and not getting it right away.
I liked this sort of dystopian future you wrote down. VOID seems to be abandoned and nature took over, leaving only certain survivors which includes Chris and... Another guy? I think Merrik said something about someone else being there.
Minerva with short hair looks cool, I really like it. And she's apparently also in a wheelchair, I can only imagine something happened between her and Chris. I'm intrigued, and I like it.
I liked this. I liked the new leg Merrik has.
Looking forward to see where you're planning to take Chris now.
Nevermind I gave it another read and was able to understand the flow of the story perfectly.
Sorry, I'm dumb.

Both of you: I am obviously even more conflicted because I got a Minerva cameo from both comics. Thanks for starring her!

oh my gosh pomo, is Christopher's scar in yours that he s a time displaced replica and no one remembers him?? thats awful!! and clever! sad but fascinating! I liked your story and of course the art is always great. I cant decide if I like the colours, you were probably trying for something natural looking with the yellows and browns and greens but I thought it came out a bit muddy? you always do great backgrounds though. Christopher looks a bit like the Cowardly Lion ^^; that might have added to me feeling like maybe he was written a little TOO sad and scared all the time. but you did manage to write a great time travel story which isnt easy. good stuff!
crafty, ahhhh your pretty watercolours again how are you even real! what a sad story you wrote! future Christopher is so heartbreaking, though nice design, very badass haha! poor baby, what a hard life! I feel like his transition to feral mode could have been a bit less abrupt or at least come with I dunno some kind of shift, colours or something because the mood was the same and it took a moment for me to understand what happened.
great comics both of you! what a tough call to score!!

These comics gave me feels. Both of them did. And I don't think that was supposed to happen.
I just...

I think I'll comment again later when I've collected myself. But I just wanted to say I really liked these. Both of them, and since this is a Scar Match I am quite conflicted too.
Either way, good job. Both of you.
