These are two of the most visually stunning comics I've seen on Void yet, my goodness!

G. Lo: Your appreciation of my inks is humbling, because DEM INKS!  Shame you couldn't finish them here, but like Bobo said, even your pencils are fun to see, and you got all the text in there, so it was completely readable.  On that note, my only big gripe is with the font and word balloons.  You could use a font with some more character to it, you need to make sure your text is center aligned and mold it to the shape of your balloons, and stop using the ellipse tool.  Your balloons are killing all the fantastic artwork you've got going on here, and it is fantastic.

Clearly you put some serious effort into your comics, so I wouldn't expect something every week from you, but when the hell's your next battle!?  It's been a year!  I need more!

Crafty: After reading G. Lo's comic, I was surprised to see that you won this battle, but hot damn did you earn it.  These pages are gorgeous, I love the moody painted look of your panels, and your character's acting is really on point.  I think you utilized both characters perfectly, and I even cared about Christopher's relationship with Nyasuu despite only having read the recap.  I particularly love the bit on page 11 where Christopher catches her scent and bolts off, stopping behind the tree and calling out to her.  Excellent shot choices, and use of the dialogue balloon tail in panel 3, very kinetic.

All I can say is spell check, spell check, and spell check.  Also, hitlisted. (bring him back)

Oh wow, G.Lo! Even your unfinished pages are beautiful and entrancing. It's a shame you didn't get to finish inking everything, and I'd definitely work on making your text fit your speech bubbles better, but hot damn! That was a very good read, and your art is beautiful. More, please.

Crafty: I love your colors and your style. It's very different and refreshing. Watch out for typos in your text, because they're all over. Also, more please. :)

oh my oh god man, I liked those a lot!
Crafty, sometimes your colours get a bit messy and hard to read, but fucking hell do I love what you've been doing with your world and style and everything!
GLO, you got a really grand finished render, them inks are pretty damn rad! I'd watch out for your poses though, they're often stiffer than they could be. I'll also echo what Harkill said about page 5, Chirstopher looks like he just teleported from Remus to the bush, or like there was an other manticore spying on them, the way the panels are set doesn't help either, as the order isn't quite clear.

Great job you guys!

I wish I wasn't so busy lately. I didn't even get to vote on this ;-;
I love the Satyr and the dragon. What a cool combo of characters. They seem a little one dimensional though. Where is the conflict in her storyline?
I see crafty is bringing Nyasuu back to relevance, which is awesome. Crafty you whipped up one hell of an awesome comic (again). Excited to see what this future the spirits have in store, and I'm glad she didn't turn him away for good. :'3

WOW -- Really lovely work both of you. A

G.LO - Very interesting story with some nice dark touches. Love the detail you put into everything, especially the backgrounds. Looking forward to a finished work next time, keep it up!

Crafty - Really cool colors on this! Interesting painterly style. Some of the panels and layout can be improved--for example, scenes like the second-to-last panel on page 14. The distance is too far away and the panel is too small that I think the impact of the scene is hurt a bit. Very excited for your next comic!

Thanks for the comments~~ I'm glad people seemed to like the comic!

G.Lo, your comic is just so...sweet and ahh, I can't put into words how much I really love it. I've probably said before, your lines are really lovely, and I love the detail you put into your work! It's a shame you couldn't finish the whole thing (it's probably the only reason you didn't kick my butt). And I'm really glad you enjoyed my side. We'll have to get together for some mythology adventurer shenanigans~!

Psycho Sean, that is certainly very flattering to have my work compared to someone like that! :o And thanks to everyone else who critiqued, I'll take that advice on board!

Man G.LO I wish you were able to finish inking, it's beautiful. Story worked well the characters interactions felt believable, the pacing was great, and i love all the backgrounds.

Crafty the same thing could be said for your comic as well. I love this art style you have. The best comparison i can make is Jack Kirby. Both of you use colors to your advantage to help enhance the energy that simply explodes off each page! Yet it never feels overwhelming plus the quiet moment on page 13 & 14 caught me off guard. Great use of the characters I can't wait to see where the story goes if you win

good job to both of you

Crafty - OH MAN THEY ALL NEED TO GO ADVENTURING TOGETHER. ...Anyway. Oh my glob. This is amazing. I love the way Aurora looks in your style - your style can be wild and that incorporates itself super well in the personalities of wild creatures and stuff. I'm totally in awe about your use of atmoshpere - that's something that kicks my butt.

also i love all of christopher's facial expressions ahhhhhhhh

I feel like I get a little lost in the action sequences though and have to read the page a couple of times to make sure I understand what's happening. That's really the only gripe I have, this comic is awesome!

I'm also really curious on where this story goes! I love how into the mythology you get into with your stories and seeing the cultures of other creatures.

Again, thank you soooo so much for battling me. I had a ton of fun even though I couldn't finish and your side is just positively gorgeous!

Harkill- Thank you so much for your advice!! Haha yeah when one page took me 4 hours to ink I knew I was in trouble :X I will definitely be more aware of contrasting my inks - I had planned on at least adding some greytones buuuuuut y'know. I think also for the awareness of character space I'll be able to get down with more comic practice. I'm still grasping how much I should show and when it's appropriate to tell. Thanks again!

K.G. - Thank you so much for the words of encouragement <333

Well done, guys! I think they were both fun to read, you're both talented and you have some interesting styles going on.

For G.LO: I'm sad you didn't have time to finish inking your comic because damn, those ink lines are nice! But I also see that the inks are very detailed, which probably explains why you didn't have time to finish it. Details are so time consuming! As a more technical tip, I'd recommend you to turn up the levels and contrasts a bit more on your inked work. Then you'd get rid of the textures in the ink and make the blacks more solid and flat. Another thing I'd advice you to, is to maybe try to be a bit more clear about where the characters are in relation to the other. At some points(I think on page 5?) It was a bit confusing when the character was sitting on the dragon in the big panel, but suddenly he was in the bush? Even if the characters say something, the most effective way in a comic is to show it by actions rather than by speech! Even if it's obvious to you, it might not be as obvious for someone else.

For crafty: I read your comment further down and I see what you mean about the comic being more focused around Christopher than Aurora. I'm new on entervoid, so I'm not that familiar with what's normal or not, but to me it felt more like this comic could have been without Aurora. It felt a bit like she was only there because you had to put her in the comic... Anyway, I really like your digital work! I can see you playing with light and shapes, and I love it! I especially like the second frame on page 7, where you see the contour of Auroras face against the fire being her! You're also good at atmosphere and I don't doubt you'll get even more awesome at it the more you practice!(Also I want to cuddle Christopher's furry cheeks... he's so fluffy!)
Technically I think what I said to G.LO also applies to you; Try to be more clear about where the characters are, and why they do what they do. To me, who haven't read the rest of your comics, it was also a bit confusing when the third person suddenly appears and they are in the forest etc. Also you could try to make flashbacks a bit more clear, perhaps by changing the color of the frames or something? (Like in manga where the frames usually change to black in flashbacks!) Also try to show rather than tell. Actions say so much more about a character's personality than what they tell you.

I hope my comment makes sense and that you can both get something out of them :) Can't wait to see more work from you both!

G.L.O, loved your story and how you portraied the characters personality! You have a beautiful pencil line too! I wish you could have finished inking your piece... Your story is very clean and there's a good flow on it! Nice work!

Crafty, Your colors are awesome! Loved your style! You are just amazing using this brushes and your hand drawn frames makes your comic very "organic"! beautiful! My only observation on it is that some of your actions are not as clear as it could be, like on page 2...I got what happened after rereading it a couple times...

You guys Rock!! I feel very overwhelmed by all the Void artists talent!! O.o'

Crafty, I think you can decrease your font size by about 30%.

I'll leave real reviews later.

This is the first time I've used the new uploader so... I think I uploaded everything? Hopefully?

Also hey it was a dumb idea to do 14 pages with my schedule. Duuuuummmbbb.

I had a ton of fun with this comic and when I come back from having a coma I'd like to finish inking it. Thanks so much for battling me, Crafty! Sorry I couldn't finish it DX  I'm excited to see your side :D

Okay, so, uh. Sorry my comics are always a Christopher-fest, I am very self-absorbed. And I guess I want to do a series or something, I guess we'll see how that works out. Also, I don't know if perhaps I cast Aurora and Remus aside a little, I'm sorry. I would like to draw them more in the future though, if that's ok.
I look forward to seeing G.lo's side, I hope you can get it all done in time!
