Thanks for the comments! Glad you seemed to generally like it - and the hook in the first two pages worked as intended.

About the flats - I was supposed to shade everything, but I got time-issues. The colors you see here are the result of 4 hours of flatting 15 hours before the deadline. Had I had one more day, I could've shaded each page like the first one - but better (the lighting was tricky because we see only the back-lit shot)

I'm definitely going to work on giving more love to my backgrounds and try things to get my style to fit in awesome expressions. I hope to keep doing jumps between each comic.

YO HELL FUCKING YES WU AT-AT. DUDE. OH MY GOD. YES. YES YES YES. I always like starting by being a critical jerk, but this such an amazing step up that I totally have to say that before I get anal.

I totally agree with Evi about your expressions. Your peeps have super-neutral expressions p much all the time, and it doesn't help that their facial features are quite small and drawn with very light lines. The next time you draw a comic, challenge yourself to not use a neutral facial expression even once, no matter how much you might think it suits the situation. Just something to help you think about variety of expression.

You need to take your time and really put some love into your background stuff, and I totally know you can. Stuff like the ship and the well look like you just wanted to get them down and done with, and it's understandable. Those are both super complicated things, requiring alot of attention and time to get right. But if you give them that time, the benefit you'll see in the ability of your comic to capture your audience is totally worth it. Having patience with your background is something you need to work on, half your cityscapes are just sketched in super loosely, and your interiors are still quite simple. Just strait up eyeball a photo if you have to, it'll totally help you learn and think about realistic spaces.

I really like some of the interesting lighting you were trying out on the first page, and I totally would've like to see you play around more with that stuff throughout the comic. Sure it had problems, but it created a great mood, and really set the tone. But after that everything just sorta became little more than flats. Also, I feel like you're getting ALOT of compression artifacts. You don't have to save every so itty-bitty small, and you could also try using png instead of jpg, since there's less loss of information overall.

Still, this is by far one of your best, most polished comics to date. IT"S WONDERFUL. You should feel super proud dude. I think the blue-orange-brown colour scheme works well, especially because it's like Cecilia's colors. Your poses are also starting to feel way more natural and expressive too. I really really liked the shot of Cecilia getting the mark, and the multiple interesting poses of her messing about in the chair. You're pushing it hardcore, keep doing it!

Pretty solid beyond battle here, you caught my interest with the setup and different hair at the beginning, I do hope you continue part 2 for the anthology :)
Your expressions def need more work, I feel like it may be the eyes that are causing this neutral look... there's just that energy that's missing.
Try this: experiment by drawing highly exaggerated facial expressions, widen those eyes, stretch that mouth ect, go mad! go with proportions you usually won't do, then take a few steps back and slowly revert into something you're more comfortable with to find a balance... Well, that's how I personally learned how to do facial emotions anyway haha, I hope it helps you too. Keep drawing!

Yeah wuta, I can see improvement. Now you gotta work on those character expressions cos they are currently stuck on "neutral" a lot.

Good to see this story going. Also wonder what's up with the white hair. Is mystery.

hey, your artwork is getting really nice! backgrounds are still more "suggested" but the perspective is getting better, and i like the colours used. Anatomy is making more sense and you have a pretty good sense of weight and movement, though the expressions are a bit flat. Good to see more of Celia's story, I'm intrigued to see where it goes!

This comic looks so sad without anyone commenting, so here's some progress:

I'm not even close where I should be with it at this point, but it's getting done and I will finish it.

Also this is part I of two part story and the second part will be drawn for the Anthology and if I miss the deadline by being me, I'll push it here instead.
