73oss-nice and brutal! We don't get much of that in these parts. I think you would have been better off if you had done a black and white entry so you could have had some better linework. The time spent on your colors could have been put towards more solid lines.

Such bright colours on such greyscale dull backgrounds don't really work. You need to bring them both together a bit or they just don't sit together nicely.
Action wise it was all abit confusing sometimes, not because it was cluttered but because mainly each movement didn't seem final enough. Also sometimes you just didn't get to see what was actually happening. If this was to make it all seem like a chaotic fight/massacre it only half worked. I think you needed to get some shots of the fight from a bit further out rather than so close in so that the viewer can really see everything rather than little snippets that dilute the action.

Those probably sound super critical, but I do like the way your developing your character, his manicness and intenseness and you did a real good job of producing solid drawing and colouring in such a short amount of time.

BOSS: As one of the only knock down, drag out- bit o thee old ULTRA VIOLENCE comics we've got- it's bloody grand. You've got a bit of creepy duality going and the action pacing to put those black mass hands to work. Geisser is a genuine creeper perfectly suited for combat. You dealt with your opponents in a cruel and sadistic fashion with motion blur, gory effects and some nice framing and impacts, great camera work. Beyond that, you hide a lot of average line work and art in your effects, even adding a degree of texture or depth to your lines on Geisser's costume would have helped in terms of setting a physicality. Your backgrounds and flat lines need more depth of separation than just color. You've got such a cinematic eye- now improve the art technically to match and you'll be aces!

Frank: Shame you couldn't turn in. Better luck next time. You should try again.

73: Lost in grey, lots and lots of clarity lost in your greys. I mean props for doing 11 pages, but I'd rather see you do a more developed 5 page comic. Something more complete and clear. I'm very glad you did action poses, so I know you aren't afraid to try them. It's a good start. Best I could suggest it do some studies of how cities look and  practice drawing them more... that is if you're using the city setting all the time.

Kinuchio: lol I think it's funny that you killed em, but I don't think we were supposed to kill our opponents in this tourney. I liked yours, just watch the perspective, anatomy, etc. Not bad!

You can generally do what you want, kill them if you want even. Unless its a death match, that death won't count though.

Anyway, my biggest crit -for now- is that your font is really bad man :(. I'd recommend going to http://blambot.com/ or finding a different site to nab a nifty font off of. The word bubbles are also really sloppy, I think it really drags the presentation value of your comic down. I also think that perhaps you tried to do too much within a week here, remember - quality over quantity (unless you can manage both!). Good luck in the next round.

Intense stuff, quite unexpected though it does seem to fit the character!

It's ultra-violent! Whooooaaa.

Linework is a little wobbly, and the colours are garish at times, but I never had any difficulty following the action. Work at it for the next round!

73oss, that was 11 pages of MAYHEM! (Nice!)
I came to see a fight, and you delivered. I do think your dialogue got in the way of all that juicy action, though. Your punchlines may have been all you needed. They were great punchlines, by the way.
If I had one big suggestion for you, it'd be this: improve your contrast. You've done this submission in colour, but your backgrounds and foregrounds are equally saturated  (things tend to get less saturated as they move into the distance) and it makes everything look very flat. Try converting your images to greyscale and see if certain planes need to be lightened or darkened to improve perspective.
Check out the VOID university and ask some of the members here for pointers. I can't wait to see you in the next round!

Hey, guys.

Just wanted to leave a comment to explain a few things. My computer reset itself about halfway through linearting
and coloring this damn thing, so I had to restart completely from scratch to try and make up for it. Thus the sudden change in coloring style from the first few pages.

I know it's hardly an excuse, but I figured it best to let you guys know that I did work until the last possible minute to try and make up for it.

Hope you guys enjoy. c:>
