Pah, you're not cursed Sixtem, you won Death Royale!

This was a fun final round! And I'm glad I got a rematch against you, Puzzlething (even if I lost this time, haha). I think you nailed the characters perfectly, and I love seeing other artists use side characters like Dr. Photon. I hope we get to see more comics from you, Puzzle! You have a unique, enjoyable style.
@Everyone
Thanks for the critiques and comments on this battle and throughout the tourney, dudes and dudettes! I really appreciate it. I think I'll be able to employ a lot of them (like varying angles, spreading out/cutting down dialogue) on comics where I have a bit more room to breathe. I'm glad people enjoyed my stuff. I'm pretty proud of it - I think this is one of my more cohesive series of battles.
Bugger... it's the third time I've gotten to the final round and lost. Maybe next year? One can hope, haha. This was a fun tourney, but I think I'll stop battling on Void for a while to focus on my own stuff and on my upcoming first quarter of university.

AHHHHH Oh man, I can't believe it's almost over! It's waaaaay too close to call, but I can't be upset no matter what happens.
Sixtem, holy shit man you're so good. You wrote Marigold so perfectly, the way she talks, even picking up on her resentment towards her family which I never actually came out and said directly. It makes me feel bad for writing a comic that was really more about wrapping up Marigold's story/feelings. You're such an amazing storyteller dude. Reading your comic makes me aware of how terrified I can be to just relax and let my characters talk. There's feels like there's much more dialogue in your comic, but it feels easy and natural. I loved the callbacks to your earlier opponents, I was smiling like an idiot every time another one popped up.
Thanks alot dude. I have a huuuuuuge problem remaining consistent art-wise when I'm drawing so fast, and it shows up the worst in my anatomy. If I don't check myself (and I usually don't when I'm rushing), I always make shit way too long, especially things with long unbroken lines in them. I have to try and remain really conscious of it in the future.
Yeah I think Samandiriel was a way better character, especially for short SDT comics. I actually didn't think Marigold was going to make it past round 2, because I recognized that most of her stories where going to be kind of low-key (read: boring).
Yeah, this is totally a problem I have even outside a fast comic like this. I definitely have a tendency to drift towards eye-level, staticy shots.
Ugh man I suck so hard at lettering and bubbles. It's ridiculous. I was reading the adding-word-bubbles-thread and that seemed helpful. Also, I was thinking of dropping a page in the forum and seeing if you guys could show me how you would do the lettering, cause I need professional help.
Thanks everybody for reading, voting and commenting, you guys make this so much fun!

Scrotes Brochacho: Awesome work you two.
Puzzle - I think the art in the comic started off strong and kinda faltered near the end, but that last page is really nice to look at. I think though you need to watch your proportions as everyone looks really really stringy and sometimes their faces seem super long. The story was okay too but it kind of dropped off for me near the end, it wasn't really clear to me? Overall though I think this was your best comic of the tournament.

I can't say though that this character grips me nearly as much as Samandiriel did in the last SDT though.

JoshuaEliGilley: COUPLA STEAM ROLLERS RIGHT HERE!! WOW, impressive finale!!
pretty close match, hard to decide really...
Puzzle, beautiful watercolors and inks again..so impressive this page count..
Both of you need to experiment with camera angles/varying shots a bit more...

Puzzle, I'd like to see you try a bit more experimental lettering...still a bit jarring the juxtaposition of the lettering with your art here...also, the story was nice, but sort of drifted away from the character development...this trad. style really is becoming strong and consistent however, and I'm excited for you to keep at it!

Six, good strong/consistent style throughout here, I like what you're doing with the lettering very much.

Six, I think you did a lot of good character development with your opponent's char.s but we lost the focus of Clash and Pistol a bit..like I feel as if I still know them just as much as in the beginning, they seem a bit more like archetypes than individuals. but I did very much enjoy your "final level" style ending chapter. Also, I think C$P walking away from exploding fairgrove was the perfect scene for a closing splash page.
anyway all unsolicited crits aside, KICKASS WORK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SDT FINALS IN A WHILE!!!
YOU GUYS DESERVE ALL THE COMMENTS!!ALL THE VOTES!!
And I for one, really appreciate the hard work and dedication you've both poured into this tourney..such great potential for making some pro comics with your prolific paces!!! Thanks for giving your all for void city!
Enjoy a much-deserved rest!!!

Six - The story was kind of cheesy, but I'm cool with a bit of that (obviously). Your lines are as clean as ever and it was cool to have nods towards your prior opponents crop up. More variation in your angles though would go a long way cause there were quite a few straight on waist up shots I felt. A bit wordy in places again but at least it was broken up in different bubbles which helped the readability. I've really enjoyed these characters of yours though throughout the tournament. Nice job man.

Just uploaded my pages. I'm not as much of a beast as Puzzlething, so the 17 of them were (of course) under the 20 limit.
Can't wait to see what you did, Puzzle! I love the way you handle characters. Your battle against Sam last SDT was a big treat for me.

Puzzlething: Hey guys, having trouble with the uploader, so I'm gonna try to upload them a few pages at a time and see if that works.
EDIT: Okay it mostly worked, but for some reason I can't upload pages 21-24. I'm super sorry Angie, I hope it's okay if I send them to you.

You're gonna have to send them or stack them, the uploader has issues from anything above 20 pages unfortunately . I learned this on the 24hr comics day haha.
edit: Ninja'd by Angie.

As a head up I can't put this comic up. There will be a delay as Toast is the only one that can put comics with more than 20 pages up. It's now out of my hands.
