To be honest I tried to not enjoy Hiemie's lose comedic interpretation of his opponent, but by the time of hairy palms it got to me XD
Despite Daniele's backgrounds mostly being speedlines and clouds I liked the humor behind it - even if I didn't enjoy Mel Gibson joke as others probably did XD

Both of these were funny to me, but I gave my vote to hiemie. I thought it was a little bit more fun to read. Neo, I think yours just ended too quickly I guess. Dunno, but it felt like it was missing something. Nice work though.

I don't think the joke would have been as funny if the map was drawn... DUNNO. Just me, maybe?

dammit. dawg stole my crits.
Hiemie, like i said, dawg stole the one crit i had. mostly because your letters are HUGE. I think if they were a little smaller, you'd get the space, & draw the eye better. this is one of the funnier comics i've read in a while. very nice work. and i was going to be no fun & tell you to paint the google map next time. but that's just me. you know.
neo, it was some of the best i've seen from you but the story didn't grab me as much as hiemie's & the comedy you were trying fell flat. also, the style seemed a little all over the place for me. a little too inconsistent. but mostly, like dawg mentioned, your shot framing. it feels like you're drawing panels first. let the action dictate the story & don't be afraid to go less panels a page over more pages. especially if you want to sell action.

@Hiems: I have a few suggestions I think will help your comics.
First, let your dialogue breathe. There are places where it is jammed in your bubbles. Speaking of clutter, your sound effects sometimes lead to that as well (for instance- page 8 - panels 3 and 4). Making them not black (a brighter color would prolly be best) would help I think. I would love to see you do some more dynamic panels and layouts. It might be a bit out of your comfort zone, but I think it could pay off nicely. And, LASTLYYYY, Some more establishing shots would be nice.
@Neo: I have a couple of suggestions for you as well.
Backgrounds, yo. All I am seeing is a bunch of pin-ups and action lines. More BGs (or having them spaced out more evenly) would really help this comic out a lot. I also think a lot of your panels are waaay to tight on things. Having so many close-ups can get confusing. Pull it back some.
My vote went to Hiemie. Both comics were good, but Hiemie's pulled me in more. I also think his is a classic in the making.

I gave this one to hiemie, but you gotta not be afraid to pan out for action shots dude, you were totally getting the hang of it on the second to last page.
Neo, you're good, but that action and story was boring.

This is definitely one of my favorite match-ups this round. You both made me happy. <3
Hiemie: Your sense of humor never fails me. Always a joy to read your comix, bro. Always. Good pacing, panel layout totally works, I didn't have any issues just breezing through this comic. No hangups, nada. However- I dunno if it's your scanner or your actual colors that look kinda mucky in spots- but you might wanna watch that color mixing. Maybe try either a more solid cell-shade look or go for something softer to ease the blending of tones.
Neo: Your comic also read very fluently, it was quite a riot! Fun body language and amusing take on both characters. Your lines are a bit weak without any sort of shading or extra black/white contrast. I really dig the action, though. You pulled that off very nicely.
A little push ahead to Hiemie for having a more complex story that was still very easy to follow. (and his sense of humor is a bit more in my personal tastes' favor) Very nice round, both of you.

That was a solid entry, Icarus, but unfortunately, for me, funny > action scene any day. And You were against Matt.
Matt. boy oh boy did I laugh and laugh and laugh. haha "jesus wept".

Both of you guys had me laughing pretty good. Hiemie's was a true Hiemie comic (which is a compliment and the only real accurate way to describe it) but I have to say the FUNNIEST panel to me out of this entire fight was in Neo's battle. The panel with Mel Gibson keeps me laughing.
I haven't voted yet, its gonna be a tough one. You both did great!

I really enjoyed both of these, haha. Hiemie with a predictable joke, but he dun took it to a 'nother level and really made me crack up a lot. NeoIcarus had a simple one, but it was fun, and the way you draw Hiemie was nice and goofy, too! Very fitting. Good job to you both!

Congrats on the win, Hiemie. Now you have to beat everyone else so I don't look as bad!
